One of my favorite Mystery Case Files
"I can feel the presence of a great and terrible darkness". This is just one of the many quirky quips you will hear from Madame Fate as you try to figure out who is planning on doing away with her at midnight. Granted, after a while I have to turn down the sound because Madame speaks frequently and there is a lot of repetition in her dialog. But her cheesy accent is a hoot.
You have to love Hidden Object games to enjoy Madame Fate. Unlike some others in the MCF family there really is no adventure aspect to the game. Your job is to investigate the carnival workers, doing Hidden Object games in various carnival attractions for each person.
There is a crystal ball mini-puzzle at the end of each employee's investigation. I prefer word puzzles to those that are math based and there are a couple of fun ones in this game. But, like other MCF games some of the puzzles can be pretty baffling, a few to the point of totally frustrating. But, because I enjoy the rest of the game so much I am willing to look for forum help with the ones I just don't "get".
I gave this 4 rather than 5 stars and a fun factor of good rather than excellent because you are only allowed 5 helps per employee and the help feature is pretty useless in the mini-games.
Madame Fate is one MCF that I have played several times and have no doubt that I will continue to play for many years to come.

The best game ever!
I have played this game many times over since it was released in 2007 because I never get tired of it. The challenging and oh so funny puzzles keeps my mind agile and I love the Hidden Object Scenes; the background sounds, the music and the lovely graphics.

Worst Game From Mystery Case Files
I made the horrible mistake of buying this game because I'd played all of the Mystery Case Files games except this one. I didn't like it all. It was tedious and all of the scenes were depressing to look at. It's also too hard. In a bunch of the scenes, a lot of stuff is jumbled up together, so a lot of times I didn't find all the clues before time ran out and I'd have to start all over again. It's definitely different from the rest of the MCF brand and in a very bad way. I HIGHLY advise all to stay away from this game. Waste of money and it'll make you want to pull your hair out.

Didn't care for it
I found it boring. I don't like the timed HOG. Some of the HO were so small or half-hidden or named wrong, you HAD to use the hints. The big puzzles at the end of each character scene were next to impossible. I had to skip all but 2 of them. VERY FRUSTRATING! I only wished I hadn't gone with the strong reviews from others and played the trial version before buying. Will definitely be doing that in the future. Overall, I did NOT like this HOG at all.

I really like this Mystery Case Files game it is one of the best I enjoyed playing it and the replay is also so much fun. I feel that this is the best game I've played by far. I hope Big Fish games makes another Madame Fate soon!!!!! I'm waiting for Madame Fate 2.

Madame Fate Where's my glasses?
I had a good time playing this game BUT I had some problems locating very small objects and I wear glasses. so I would spend maybe 2 hours searching for 1 tiny item.

Not for me
I don't like timed games - too much pressure to be enjoyable.
This one I found very hard which took way the relaxing feel.

Not a casual Eye friendly game
Sorry I purchased this game. If you buy this game make sure you have a strong mag. glass PLUS readers! The puzzles are without explanation and in the casual mode ALL of the many scenes are timed.I felt misled by the reviews and will be more cautious as to what is described for my enjoyment. I do enjoy the other Mystery Case Files games but not this one. Silly that I need a large strong magnifying glass to find objects.

Carnival extravaganza
What can I say? I bought my first few HOG's back in 2008 and this was one of them. Still I find that at least once a year I return to this unforgettable member of the Mystery case file series. I loved the carnival theme and the whole sinister feel of the soundtrack and plot. After having played several dozen HOG's this is relatively speaking quite challenging, but this is a quality I look for in HOG's.
I would strongly recommend this game.
