Dark Parables: The Final Cinderella Collector's Edition
Dark Parables - the most visually stunning series of all!
BASED ON COMPLETED GAME + BONUS CHAPTER
The Dark Parables series (really anything by Blue Tea) has set the bar so high that I can only give a review based on comparison with other games in the series. The incredibly detailed artwork, the musical score, the intricately intertwined storylines that flow from one game to the next all come together to make one seriously fantastic series. IMHO for visual presentation and mood that sucks the player in to their world Blue Tea Games reign supreme. If you've never played Blue Tea Games then just go for it because all of their games are fantastic. If you have, then keep reading ...
The Final Cinderella is another stunning addition to the series. The storyline is, of course, a twisted take on the original but it's not quite as engrossing as some of the others in the series. The presentation of the main characters' motivation for going bad was a little weak. I didn't really "feel it" like I did with Snow Queen, for example. It was all there, but this time they didn't really put in the umph factor that could make you step into the characters' emotions. The puzzles are not difficult at all - I didn't skip a single one. They're actually a little too easy but I had fun playing through with my daughter. The FROGs were great. Not too hard, not too easy, just in the middle and quick to get through.
Is it worth the CE price over the SE? ... Weeeell. That depends on what you get the CE for. If you like to have all that concept art and the music scores, etc. then yes. If you don't really care about all that and just want the additional gameplay or you like to know all the details and additional background story that comes with the bonus game - then no. Get the SE. The bonus chapter is pretty short and it's not that challenging. It doesn't provide much insight into the back story - just a fleshing out of a related storyline that you already have through regular game play... and the ending is pretty flat. Rather a letdown. So just go for the SE if you don't care about the bells and whistles.
Like I said before, I LOVE Blue Tea Games and they're all excellent. So this review of TFC is really in comparison to the other Dark Parables and Enchantia. IMO this is probably the weakest addition in the series - but all that says is that it's the weakest addition to the strongest series on Big Fish. I can't wait for the next one!

The Final Cinderella CE: Excellence in Storytelling
*comments based on completed game and bonus in "E" mode*
Here is a beautiful game with an intelligent plot line. This story unfolds in a graceful manner. It moves easily from point to point. The mechanics of the game itself are fluid.
I appreciated the inclusion of all the Cinderella stories from all over the world. I find it interesting that almost all cultures have some variation of this cautionary fairy/morality tale.
I found this game enjoyable and diverting. Given the many "yawners" I have play recently, it was nice to discover a game worth playing, worth my time and worth my money.

Had fun with it
Ok, so let me start with the good. It was a good instalment of the series. I've played them all from the very first and I still love the series. Plus it was much better than the Red Riding Hood one.
The puzzles were entertaining and the storyline I liked. Gave a new spin on the story.
But here's the problem I had with it. When it came to the end of the game and I had to defeat the big bad to win, all I got were a bunch of HO scenes to put stuff together. It frustrated me to no end!!! Why not just let me do puzzles for it? Or half-half it? It took away from the experience.
I hope that the game creators will be easing up on the HO scenes in the next instalment.

I liked this game.. as I have most of Blue Tea games. As always it is stunningly beautiful and has ornate jeweled HO scenes. I found the storyline a bit wonky. A wicked queen type who is looking for Cinderella's to find a pure hearted maiden so she can revive her husband Gepetto. His son Pinochio appears quite often throughout the game. Gepetto has been burned alive for making puppets in an effort to take over the world. Right that seems perfectly reasonable. I would like it if BTG's would add something different to their games each time. Maybe some achievements perhaps, some silhouette HO scenes or different puzzles. Something to set them apart from each other as they do tend to blend together. I did like this one. The artwork was really pretty, it was a decent length and you really couldn't predict the story. The music was lovely, it had very few morphing objects and it had some not bad puzzles. I don't know how many more of them I could play if they don't add some different stuff as you do begin to feel like it's an continuation of a similar game.

It was alright, but the stories got boring after a while. The HOG's were more of just click and hope. Interesting concept, but didn't pan out for me.

This game was stunning, graphically, and very clever in its treatment of the various Cinderellas.
And yet, the FROGS (Fragmented Object Games) were just EVERYWHERE! It was like a biblical curse of FROGS! One after the other after the other after the other! My, but BLUE TEA can go on!
This is a great game for those who like to search and hunt for hidden objects, but I much prefer plot over HOG.
I recommend this game only for those who like HOGS.

Too much HOS not enough puzzles
While I enjoy this developer and have played all their games, this one was too much the same ole thing. Hardly any puzzles and the few that were there are not very entertaining. Plus I am getting spoiled at having interactive HOS that you have to do more that just finding the item. I was so bored that I didn't even look at the items to find and just clicked on what looked like they might be. Most of the time I clicked on them all in a matter of seconds. Time to start getting a little more creative!

Others seem to love this game very much, but it's a bit too monotone for me. I'll never get use to this type of hidden object scene, it's too easy. And the minigames too. It's a good game if you want to relax, you could see it's high quality and cared for, bot not challenging enough. On the other side the storyline was very good, excellent graphics, voice-overs, hard to find morphing objects and all that. Everybody has different taste. :)
By the way, I left the piano key in the fountain, so I had to restart the game.

Fan of Blue Tea games but
I have always been a huge fan of Blue Tea games but I felt this one missed the mark. To story line seemed all over the place and at times got confusing.
