Scary Park is Scary Fun This is an excellent HOPA game. The premise is Louis the clown and Mr. Dudley(a cute if evil puppet) has kidnapped 7 children and you must rescue them. It starts as a car wreck and goes from there. All the children have been turned into dolls and they are based on fairy tales such as Cinderella, Red riding Hood, Hansel and Gretal, The Tinder box , Aladdin, and Peter Pan. Each child has their own seperate chapters, there are some back tracks but you stay within that chapter until you turn the doll back to a human so even though you are backing and forwarding you don`t have very far to go, you just stay within that chapter. Each chapter has between 4 to 8 scenes so not a lot of going back and forth. The chapters are pretty long, as there is a lot to do, hidden object scenes had a lot of items, but very well defined so not hard to find, not very cluttered or junky. Some even have interactive items, but easy to understand what needs to be done. The hint button recharges quickly(maybe 60 seconds) and shows what needs to be done. I hate it when you are not sure what else needs to be done in a scene and it says"there is nothing to do here" as so where do I go then? that is not the case here as the hint will give you an arrow as to where to go or what to do, some might complain that that is hand-holding, but I don`t mind as it shows where to go so you are not back-tracking to an area you don`t need to go. The puzzles are where I would give it just a 2star rating as I had to skip a lot of them, some were pretty hard and not sure what to do, but that is just me, and the skip button recharges fast, so even though they were hard it didn`t detract from the game excitement. I loved the "little bear Hint balloon" when it gave you the hint it popped and you could hear him blow up the balloon. I played the whole game and even with breaks, the game is very, very long over 5hrs plus. The music was not very intrusive and sound effects was ok, the voice of Louis the clown was menancing enough, but not bad to scare kids. I loved Mr. Dudley, even though he was evil I thought he was cute. All-in-all a very good game, I need to find the fist one and try that one and see if it is as good as this one. This has become my number one game now. February 2, 2013
Clowning About in Fairytale Lands For those people who suffer from Coulrophobia (fear of clowns, thanks Hubby for looking this up) look away now, as Louis Gauche the oversized and Mr Dudley the undersized meet up again in a devilish plot to steal children and turn them into fairy tale characters. Yes, yawn, yawn, I know it's the usual rescue mission here, the detective that you play has to find them and turn them back into the children. However the fun is going into the various fairytale realms that have been created for each luckless child and finding out exactly what is needed to free the children, and yes you think you've got them when Mr Dudley twirls them away and makes them disappear again. You have two books this time, one with all the fairy stories in and one as your notebook, plus a teddy bear in the corner who blows up a balloon only to burst it when you need a hint. There were one or two tricky puzzles, however I think I persevered and only skipped one, as I was impatient to see what happened next. The fairy story realms are in the same order as the book, and you do have to free each child in turn to get into the next realm. I do hope these evil clowns will return at least one more time. They have an odd appeal about them. January 25, 2013
Bargain for your money Better than a CE game because it was a challenge all the way through the game and lasted longer than some of the CE games I purchased. The ending was good too because there was conclusion to the story and did not leave you hanging. Games were really challenging and the graphics were top notch. January 23, 2013
This Game Is a Lot of Fun!!! The graphics are excellent!! And it is the kind of game that really draws you in. Very good story line with a creepy slant. Challenging puzzles, but you can wait a bit to skip them if you wish. And the hints are unique because it is a little teddy bear that blows up a red balloon to refill the next hint! Very creative! Lots of different and cool locations. The hidden object scenes are just challenging enough with out being too hard. It took me about 3 hours or so to finish this game. But it seemed longer than that. This is a really fun game!! January 19, 2013
What can I say, "Excellent"! This game was just great fun to play. The length of the game is longer then some of the "Collectors" editions. There is surprises here and there and the little jester kept me in smiles all through out the game. Although the "save the children" story line is redundant this one had a more interesting take on it. The mean and nasty main character clown is an excellent bad guy. I enjoyed this game immensely and was sorry it was over. You won't be sorry that you spent time on this one! This is my new favorite game. January 16, 2013
Surprisingly Enchanting Sequel Weird Park was nothing spectacular, so I was amazed and thrilled at the length and amount of different scenes that this new tale took. At first its a backforth few scenes routine, then it takes on an adventure through fairytales with seemingly never ending new scenes. I hope people give it a chance, it could be the "sleeper hit" for this year. January 15, 2013
Great fun with the kids I have played these games with my kids and we love it. They can be a little scary so I wouldn't let really young kids play them, but the challenge level is just right for kids age 8 and up. Not too hard, which is nice because it keeps the game moving along, but hard enough to make you think. We also appreciate very much a skip button for mini games! January 14, 2013
Loved it... I liked it and thought it was challenging...I enjoyed it and wish more game were available in this series... January 12, 2013
