Something Different for Mahjong Fans At first when I viewed the rather simplistic tile designs, my thoughts were 'here goes another mediocre mahjong game.' After having played the hour demo however, I was pleasantly surprised, as here we have a mahjong game that's a little different and quite fun to play. It's a 'mahjong adventure.' Each game of mahjong you play, unlocks an item which goes into the inventory. When the inventory is full, you have an interaction scene whereby you have to place the items in appropriate places. Periodically, you also have a mini-game where you have to associate pictured items with items in a circular scene. This turned out to be harder than I envisaged, and was quite thought provoking. I only got about a 15th of the way in the demo hour, so it should be of reasonable length in total. Graphics are superb and tiles are distinctive, making for quite fast matching. When there are no matches, shuffle button can be used. Sound effects and background music are pleasant and appropriate. There is no timer, and there are two modes : casual and expert. All in all a fun game that should please mahjong lovers. June 12, 2013
A FUN AND RELAXING GAME! I really liked this game. There are only two modes of difficulty and I will admit the easy mode is too easy but either mode is fun. The Princess is forbidden to enter a locked room, she enters anyway and discovers she has a twin sister. Now we are off to find her and search for clues. The tiles are modern and easy to identify, available tiles are well lit and you can shuffle the remaining tiles at any time. Between sets you are given a mini game to complete such as matching inventory items onto the scene with an associated item like a fish to the fishing pole, a horse to a seahorse. You should try the demo and relax for an hour or so. Enjoy! June 12, 2013
FUN FACTOR I only played the demo of this game, so this is just my observations of one hour of game play -- I HAD FUN. I liked the cartoonish graphics, and the old English language and style of play. The challenge was there as well, The HO scenes were great but somewhat challenging . If you are someone who likes to speed through gameplay. Probably not your cup of "tea" but if you like a challenge, and some thought, go for it. I did purchase the game after an hour, there is a lot here, to keep us busy for awhile. (Best played with a soothing cup of Earl Grey) -- Just one man's opinion. June 12, 2013
Relaxing game with great story I like this game very much. It's an relaxing game with great artwork and a fascinating story. I like the variety of the game. I have a lot of fun. June 13, 2013
Undecided This review is based on a half-hour of the demo. This is a combined mahjong, HO and "adventure" game. The mahjong boards are really easy, and all can be completed because you have an unlimited number of shuffles and "go backs." Those features take away much of the strategy aspect of the mahjong play. The HO's are associations between items. The scenes in which the matches need to be made, while not junk piles, are cluttered and fuzzy. Some associations are very far afield, like a flute and a cattail (reed). Others are just silly, like a saw and a sawfish! The adventure parts, except that they advance the story, are jokes. Take the items you've collected by playing a lot of mahjong boards and place them into a scene to accomplish something. The uses are pathetically obvious. I haven't decided whether to buy this game. I would for sure as daily deal. It's worth that. But I'm not sure I'd spend a free game on it. But then I wonder if the adventure play might get a little more challenging. . . I recommend the game for those who want a (nearly) relaxing repetitive game. April 1, 2014
road to reunion also the way you have to overcome obstacles, be alert and wise a little June 25, 2013
So Much Potential... I'm a big fan of mahjongg games of many types. So I was prepared to enjoy this game a lot as it seemed a new twist on a cool theme. But too many negatives made it a frustrating and boring experience. The idea of combining HO scenes with mahjongg seemed great but poorly done graphics and somewhat odd English wording quickly dulled my interest. The graphics are almost cartoonish but blurred and highly fanciful, This might be ok but the HO's are word association games so the objects to be related need to be clear and logical. They aren't here. The story of a princess entering a forbidden secret castle room seemed interesting but again, poor grammar marred the tale. These facts considered, I cannot truly recommend this game as a purchase but a possible download to see what mighta been a winner. Hopefully another team will take these ideas and make them shine. so so it was ok if you like card games matching games you finish a game and then they'll show you a picture or puzzle try to solve it even a kid can play this game no fighting nothing just a nice relaxing game you go at your own pace no timer June 12, 2013
Just so boring Mahjong Secrets, sounded interesting, but really turned out to be quite boring. You play a number of boards (always the same tiles) which aren't very challenging as there is no time limit and you can always reshuffle the board as many times as it will take to solve the board. The story line is a bit pathetic and the mini games in between are always the same style. I usually finish games but this one I uninstalled after about half way through. January 22, 2014
kindergarten mahjong This game needs to be rehauled for a makeover. Total waste of time as it is. Wouldn't even call it a game since there is no reward of playing. It's like playing monopoly by yourself, what's the point?? You get unlimited shuffle and undo, no timer for how fast or slow you play, no stars for completing with or without hints or shuffles. Same tile set every board. Both modes are exactly the same except hint and skip take a bit longer to recharge, but why would you need it, just reshuffle without penalty. The mini games are cute but it's supposed to be a mahjong game. Wrong, they don't even have sets of interchangable tiles. This is the game in a nutshell, you just move along the levels playing matching tiles and you get an object when level over whether you completed it yourself or used skip option With the items you received you play an interactive board placing the items in the picture, which is very simple. Yes, its for a 4 year old. This game needs to go into the kiddie pile. I made a mistake and bought it in the wee hours of the night half asleep because i did like the color tile set and thought it was a mahjong where there is only one solution and would try to play myself without shuffles regardless if they rewarded me or not. What a mistake, after playing a round in the morning found out some levels you cannot get through without reshuffle. After only first tile removal, which was the only selection available, pop up came on telling me no more matches. Total garbage. November 6, 2014
