Professionally Presented, ?Real? Mah-jong BASED ON DEMO More business-like than business style, this version of the universally popular game offers CLEAN LINES, PROFESSIONAL PRODUCTION STANDARDS, and easily grasped BONUSES and EXTRAS. This game is NOT offering BEAUTIFUL BACKDROPS, dozens of MODES of PLAY, or oodles of POWER UPS. What it does offer is a well packaged good old-fashioned mah-jong game, played the way it should be played, with CLEAR GRAPHICS, a CHOICE of a half dozen standardised tile sets, and clearly defined GOALS. The backdrops are standard business fare and not a DISTRACTION, and the MUSIC is SOOTHING and unobtrusive. There are many boards, levels and achievements. You must qualify to unlock each one before you can move on, each involving greater difficulty and more intricate GAMEPLAY. You can REPLAY any board to improve your SCORE. Your score is based on TIME, NUMBER of MOVES used, number of ?SPECIALS? cleared, and the number of REGULAR tiles left at the end of the round. ?Specials? must be completely cleared to complete the board. Despite the emphasis on BUSINESS indicated in the GAME DESCRIPTION and things like the TROPHY names, I didn?t feel any sense of being involved in any kind of story or particular activity. I like this game. It reminds me of the mah-jong I played before it turned into a game filled with stuff that made no sense to me in a traditional strategy game. I have some of those complex, ?change the tiles, the boards, the nature of the objectives and gameplay, collect explosive devices, etc? mah-jong games and I find them totally unappealing. This is what mah-jong should look like. July 15, 2013
Mahjong With A Business Theme! Now you can play Mahjong at work without feeling guilty lol! This is a really nice mahjong game that gives you 1-3 stars per level and you start out on a tutorial level and advance up the ranks such as shark. There is a lightbulb icon that shows which tiles are available and a shuffle icon as well. Goals are given at the start of each level and basically you want to match tiles as quickly as possible. Bonus tiles are also available to fill the shuffle etc. The tiles are easy to see and are a nice size making this game a winner in my book, enjoy! July 15, 2013
Mahjong Business Style This is another in a series of wonderful Mahjong games done in contest mode - no fuss, no story - just goals and rewards. I purchased this version outright and it has measured up to my expectations so far. If you like challenge Mahjong games, give this a try. If you like it, try out the previously released ones. Mahjong on Meets Wallstreet The crisp no nonsense graphics, the lack of any "bells and whistles" makes this oddity of a game even more off the beaten trail. Yes, there's tile matching, levels, awards and power-ups but all with a straight business-like feel. The 3 sets of tiles in the demo #could there be more sets later?# are rendered clearly and non playable tiles can be dimmed or not during play. It's an enjoyable twist on a fairly common theme. But as with too many other offerings there's no untimed mode. This dulls the fun#for me# as I can't enjoy the game while anxiously clock watching. But I know many players enjoy this aspect so do give it a try. You may become the Mahjong Master of Wall Street! July 15, 2013
If you love Mahjong... ...then you will like this. If you are good and super quick, you will love this. I like it but am fairly slow so found it a little frustrating and, based on the reviews here, will not be buying if I just get stuck. Definitely a try before you buy, read the reviews and judge your skill level carefully. July 26, 2013
It Was Just Ok. This is a Mahjong game without anything special going for it. There are 2 modes of play - relaxed and timed. There are only 3 tiles to choose from and the layouts were pre-formed. There were 10 layouts per page/2 pages per level. The puzzles themselves were very easy. I had absolutely no problem with them whatsoever. Graphics: Kind of dark actually. You could still tell the gold tiles from the regular tiles but the atmosphere was dark. Sound: Music was so relaxing I fell asleep. Yeppers. Fell right to sleep in the middle of a game. Go Figure. Gameplay: As I mentioned above, there is really nothing special, intriguing or extraordinary about t his game. It's actually quite boring in it's simpleness. As in any Mahjong game, you match tiles. I chose the regular Mahjong tiles rather than the money (business related?) tiles. I want my Mahjong game to not only be relaxing but have aspects of the game that are unique unto that game alone, bonus, build your own layouts, but something different and this game just didn't have it. This Glam-ma says this may not be her cup of tea (I have a Mahjong game I absolutely love from the BF site) but that doesn't mean it won't be yours. Please try the demo and enjoy. Happy Gaming. too hard I love mahjong, but this game was too hard. I could not get past the first level. You can't go forward until you beat the first level. I was so frustrated. I replayed every board in the first level to meet the required goals and could not do it. The most I got was 2 out 3 goals accomplished on only four of the roughly 20 boards in the first level. Tiles are easy to see. July 17, 2013
Beware of this game if you are unable to play fast I really liked this game (and bought it) before I found out that if you cannot get enough stars (meaning you cannot make your moves fast enough), you can never unlock the more advanced games. I have stiff hands from arthritis, and no matter how often I replay the beginner's games, I can't score high enough to unlock the other games. I don't mind scoring low because I am slow -- I don't play for speed scores -- but I would like to be able to enjoy the whole game, not just 15%. I gave this game an "excellent" for level of challenge, by which I mean very high challenge, not that it is a good level of challenge for everyone. July 21, 2013
Too Hard Getting to Next Level Seems like I will always be a Newbie! Haven't been able to figure out how to get more stars. Can't seem to play any faster, better, bigger, etc. Sorry that I spent a credit on this one! August 25, 2013
WHAT A WASTE OF COUPON As I suspected (when am I going to listen to ME?) if your score is TOO LOW, you CANNOT unlock the next stage -- for me the NEWBIE stage. I've replayed several of the previous stage's levels and it doesn't matter what I do nor how fast I do it, I STILL only attain 1 star. I mean, come on, you can't even get 3 stars when you're forced to do the tutorial on the first level? I've NO IDEA how this game expects you to get 3 stars when you can't even earn it with the tutorial and I barely was able to get 1 star and believe it or not, this game is NOT HARD to play!!!!!! I've played harder mahjongg games. Darn good thing I didn't pay for this game!!!! MEnr56 July 17, 2013
