Forest Legends: The Call of Love Collector's Edition
I usually love these mystical/fairytale games but this one just falls short of the mark.
The graphics are nice but not the A1 class of other games.
There was a lot of backtracking in the demo and overall the game play just seemed rather simplistic and a little stilted.
I did like the storyline and the potion mixing and would like to see how the story turns out but will wait for the SE.

The Call of Love can Call someone Else.
I will not review the game options and mechanics as other reviewers have done a wonderful job of that. Usually I would jump in glee for a game that is pure adventure without loads of HOS. This game, however, had no "it" factor for me at all. I found myself struggling to get through the demo. The voices are definitely annoying, but for me I don't use that to judge a game. It seemed to drone on and on without any real point to it. I'm not a big fantasy game lover, so perhaps this had something to do with my dislike of the game. Mostly, it was just blahh for me. Of course, demo the game, we all have different tastes :)

This legend could be better.
This game looked interesting, so I downloaded it. This is only a review of the demo version!
The storyline was ok. But it was nothing special, a forbidden love between a human and a "beast". I didn't like the story much afterall.
The sounds and the music were good. I liked the soundtrack. Together with the graphics and the music the game had a good feeling, but I didn't really get into the feeling of the game. And what I hate is when you want to go to another location and there are arrow cursers for every direction you are able to go to.
The mini games were sometimes easy and sometimes challenging. But the actions to do in the game were not tricky enough and very easy to guess.
The CE has only the normally Bonus content, no collectibles, nothing special.
So afterall this game is maybe a good standart version game, but as CE it's not really worth the money for me. But if you like relaxing love story games, then you should check this game out.

Not for the adult or the expert
While technically well executed this game has no depth to the story and the puzzles are easy - less than 5 clicks and you're done.
I normally play almost anything for the full length of the demo, but I exited this after 35 minutes - not really interested in the fate of the heroine or the hero she keeps having to rescue.
The idea of the cat people is lovely but our heroine doesn't need me to help her to reconcile the two races: she already has true love, a convenient dragon helper and wizened forest wise women.

Game is very slow, both for story and moving around. Mouse cursor does not do much, so you have to keep clicking to close windows or use on screen arrows to navigate. Story line is boring. The heroine has to keep healing her lover, which becomes tedious. Art quality is not great.

Forest Legends The Call of Love Collectors Edition
I don't recommend this game. I don't like it when game requires talking from main characters to continue the game.

Quickly became tiresome
I have to start by saying that I can see a lot of work has gone into making this game, especially so with the detailed and layered artwork. The storyline is a relatively simple love story concept, but it didn't at all keep my interest. There are a LOT of notes and diary entries to try to keep you abreast of the story, all read out by the main character in a very annoying and sickly sweet voice. This is the first thing to become tiresome, and I found myself diving for the button to stop her reading out loud. If I had her voice on a sat nav, I would drive into a tree.
The second and main thing which quickly became tiresome, was the seemingly endless potions. I ended up not even reading the ingredients list as I knew that I would stumble across all the ingredients without much effort. The making of the potions was the same each time, so repetitive it became like groundhog day.
There are some good puzzles, but I did find myself keeping an eye on my progress in the jump map, waiting to finish the game. It only took a couple of hours. A bit like a book that falls below expectations, I'd started so I'd finish. I didn't even bother with the bonus chapter, which is something I've never done before.
So all in all, some good puzzles, visually impressive, but be prepared for repetition and simply roaming around for ingredients. Maybe good for younger players or beginners, but even then it might seem to just drag on.

The graphics seem a bit old school and more cartoon like. Does have voice overs, but dialogue is silly and over done. Game play was good. Not a lot of instruction for play. No access to SG makes me wonder if game is very short. Dragon is cute. Puzzles are simple and nothing new here.
There was an annoying muffled sound in the background, like a muffled grunt. What is that all about? Hint fills fairly quickly and can be filled by finding an extremely small and hard to see ball of light.
There were no HOGs in this one and believe me, it needed something. Maybe it's just me, but this game moved very slowly. Voice overs were not throughout the game, just here and there. Music was okay, but other than that, there was no real sound FX, which made the game boring for me. This one just didn't grab my attention at all. Not exciting or challenging. There are very few games that I don't recommend, and this is one of them. No buy for me.
As always, try it for yourself and see what you think. We all have different tastes in games and you may find this one quite enjoyable. Off to the beach for a week, so will catch up when I get back. Thanks for the reviews.

Reminded me of a 50's era B-movie
I tried the demo because the storyline interested me, and I wanted to see what all the bad reviews were about - now I know. It's about as bad as a 50's B movie - way too many cutscenes & voiceovers just in the 1st hour of play. The voices are annoying and do not really match the characters, the storyline seemed interesting but not fleshed out well enough to make me care to follow along.
Gameplay was awkward - instead the cursor turning into a directional arrow there are arrows that appear in the middle of the screen - or around the edges, it was awkward to follow. Also lots of back & forth - with no interactive map, the map only listed active areas and your location.
As another reviewer stated, there are no hidden object scenes. You just pick up stuff as you go along and use it on other stuff.
The items for the potions were not difficult to find, but the whole idea that everything is solved with a potion seemed tiresome to me.
The graphics were ok, but the characters themselves were cartoonish.
I used the hint dragon a couple times but not enough to require a "recharge" so when I did find the little dust mote looking things that recharge it I couldn't use them. Also way too much intro for the baby dragon if you ask me - makes me wonder what age range this game is targeting.
