MEH.....Liked it, but nothing new.... Pretty good, although it was just like all the others. Wish they'd update the time management games as often as they do the others. But, overall, I liked the game. I would purchase it just for those times after work I wanna relax or for those rainy Saturday mornings......... August 30, 2013
Game Fail, Sad but True You would think by now that developers would get the hint that most of us really like to plan ahead and line up tasks. Ranch Rush was one of the first to get it right, I believe, and it makes the game ever so much more fun. Instead of having to wait for the workers to return, you can be planning way ahead. Without the game, for me the game soon grows tedious. The other major flaw, in my opinion, is the "hidden object" feature. If you don't find this item, you can't get 3 stars. In the first scene, without the tutorial telling me where it was I never would have found it. The second scene it was blinking. By the 3rd scene, I couldn't find it at all. It is about the size of the head of a pin. Like most games of this type, listening to the workers "I will get it done" soon drives you crazy, but I turn the sound way down. The graphics are quite good, though no game as workers with as much personality as Royal Envoy. I love this type of game. I wish they had a new one every other game. I am always so disappointed when they are not well-done. After playing a superb game like Royal Envoy 3, or a challenging fun game like Viking Saga, this is a real disappointment. August 19, 2013
It is boring...... In this game there is no possibility to make a real strategy. Every upgrade on the buildings and fields are fixed. You can not make any upgrade on your own! You can only buy 1 male workers and 1 female worker, thats the only challenge. What a stupid idea to make the forest or the fields, where you harvest the products, only 1 star upgrade and the factories have 3 stars! (and you can not chance anything on this situation!) You are only running and clicking, thats all. This game is very static. I love time management games, but after a while, this game was boring me. Royal Envoy, Viking Sage, Kingdom Chronicles, Roads of Rome, Sweet Kingdom, My Kingdom for the Princess, New Yankee - all are much much better! August 20, 2013
Bad game from a good developer I'm surprised these guys put out a game this simple and yet so frustrating. It's repetitive in terms of the gameplay at each level and the only real challenges are finding the hidden star, which could be anywhere, and the clock. You need to repeat tasks so many times that you run out of time. After Adelentado, Roads of Rome and Viking Saga, I expected better from these guys. August 28, 2013
Timed mode is impossible I FOUND TIMED MODE IMPOSSIBLE. UNTIMED IT IS JUST PLAIN BORING. COULD WE PLEASE HAVE TWO LEVELS OF TIMED IN THE FUTURE. AFTER ALL WE ALL WANT TO ENJOY BIG FISH GAMES. THANKYOU FOR LISTENING August 23, 2013
Hoped for something good, but--- First I was happy to see a untimed game, but it was boring with the market. I really liked Northern Taleand hoped to see more like that September 26, 2013
Repetitive game play One word for this game, BORING!!!! Very repetitive actions and I had no desire to try and beat the clock. I would not recommend this game September 29, 2013
Boring I don't usually pan games, and I love TM games, but this was boring and I am deleting after 21 minutes of playing the trial. There is no stacking of tasks, so lots of clicking. The tasks were pretty standard - collect wheat, make flour, etc... September 25, 2013
Poor Execution In Many Ways Its a rare occasion when I am met with a TM-strategy game for PC/Mac that I dislike and if getting me there were a goal to be reached, then When In Rome really rose to the task. I played about 45 minutes of this game before realizing that my mood was steadily worsening. I did not enjoy any of the game, and this was the first game I've ever played where every single level seemed nearly identical to the previous. No way. Never. Just say no. September 25, 2013
Can we please get some good TMs!!!!? Like other another reviewer I was annoyed at the complete lack of apostrophes. If English isn't the developers' native tongue, why the heck can't they have the language checked before releasing the game? How hard is that? That gripe aside, I was bored with this game after five minutes. It may be challenging to get three stars on some levels, but that didn't make it any less boring. Let's face it, it's just same old, same old. Can't chain the actions, the workers were slow, and the goals unclear. The constant cry of "I'm already on the road!" is really annoying. OK, you can turn it off, but I don't want to turn off sounds on my games, I find the music and sound effects all part of the experience. And this experience was, for me, not one I care to prolong.
