Abandoned: Chestnut Lodge Asylum
Sorry to do this, but the glitches are just too much
Everything else is right about this game - it's a Standard Edition, so the price is reasonable; the storyline may be cliched (an abandoned asylum where Something Nasty Happened# but with enough of a twist to be refreshing; plenty - and I do mean plenty - of actions to be completed and hidden object scenes.
If that was all, I'd give it five stars quite happily. Unfortunately, there are two issues - one minor, one major - that means I can't do that. The minor issue is one about translations into English - some of the items in the hidden object scenes are not labelled correctly #the worst was a "flower pot" which turned out to mean a saucepan!) but this isn't a deal-breaker in itself.
What does kill the game is the amount of errors. A particularly bad glitch comes near the end, when in order to progress, you need to find one particular item. Even at the cheap SE price, this is just not good enough, so I have to give this game one star alone for this fault, which is a shame - I liked it very much otherwise.

WOULD HAVE BOUGHT IF. . .
No one will read this, but here it is. This seemed like a good game - good proportion of HOS, lots of adventure and puzzles. I would have bought it if all the scenes were not so dark. I do have games with dark HOS, but this one is ridiculously dark - even the areas which could have had color didn't have any. Too bad, because it had everything needed for a good game.

Couldn't even get through the demo! Boring!
I think I played less than a half an hour and played at least 6 junk pile HOs. I'm sorry, but when you have a fountain scene and there's a piece of pizza thrown up against the rock face, that's just not my idea of a well developed game! I most enjoy the games wherein the HOs have at least a possibility of being a part of a real scene!
My idea of a good HO/Adventure game is obviously different than a lot of the reviewers, but if you like a well developed story, with a lot of interaction and HOs that make sense, then I would not recommend this game.

Boring beyond belief
In the first five minutes I ran into no less then three HOG scenes sure they were interactive but still boring. This game was over for me within ten mintues of playing. The only saving grace was the morphing objects. Sorry just didn't like this game at all.

Possible to stuck forever!
I played a great number of Big Fish Games and I like BF games much, but this one is a real garbage:
1. They designed it to be not linear, and due to this "brilliant" idea it is possible to completely stuck, so you'll need to start over: example - can't find glass? here you are.
2. How come tile puzzle (with 11 tiles above bed) was preset in IMPOSSIBLE position? Impossible means it is preset in such way that you have no chance to solve it. So when you place 9 tiles in correct order, 2 rest will always be in reversed wrong order. If you think it is possible to resolve in such position plz, send me your explanation. being child I played tiles game a lot, so I know what I'm talking about!
Disappointed! Will reconsider buying from this company.

I just 5 minutes to play the game deleted. Dark graphics, HOS to recognize bad as some tiny. My opinion pity to raise money for this game. no recommendation

Abandoned: Chestnut lodge asylum
Another dark hidden object game. Spelling on HOG very poor. Why do we have to have games with morbid settings.
