Awakening: The Sunhook Spire
AWAKEN MY FELLOW AWAKEN FANS!
If you are a fan of the Awakening series your gonna like this game, if you haven't played any games in this series I still think your gonna like this game. Queen Sophia has returned to Sunhook Spire to rescue the Enchantress. She has tried desperately to find a way to reverse the curse that has made her parents fall into a spiritless sleep. The colors are beautiful and the graphics are clear and crisp with magical flair. Your friend the wise owl has returned to assist you with directions as well as hints and that cute baby dragon is your faithful companion. Throughout the game you will be able to add magical powers like wind to your dragon to make him more powerful. The HOS are interactive and I loved the one where you had to find items in a pond as a turtle swims around and when you click on the water itself it reacts just like real water! This game however is all about the puzzles, every scene has plenty of things to do and the puzzles are fun and unique. The first puzzle set the pace for this game and I was hooked, you must exchange different goblin statues that are holding tools to match the hints as shown above but that's all you get are vague hints. Another puzzle I enjoyed was the pattern disks where you had to figure out the pattern with limited clues and missing clues in order to finish the pattern. So whether you are a fan of the Awakening series or not, I still think you will enjoy this game.

Wonderful game to waste an afternoon with
Sunhook Spire is the 5th installment of the Awakening series. Although it follows the story of Princess Sophia's quest to wake her parents from their cursed sleep, it is, like the others, a stand alone game.
In this installment, the dragon and the owl are back and are as lovable and helpful as ever.
3 levels of play; relaxed, normal and dreadmyre
variety of HOS; some of them quite different, ie colour coded objects.
beautiful music and artwork
I played the middle level of the CE and the trial of the SE just to see what the differences were (no morphing objects, bonus chapter, SG or wallpapers etc) Perhaps I should have played the hardest level because I found the game quite easy.
I gave the game 5 stars, but 4.50 would be more acurate. I took points off because, even though I love these games, I am beginning to think the princess will never be reunited with her parents.
I bought the CE without even trying it, because I have played all the other installments and I am always so enthralled with the gorgeous artwork and music, plus this genre of game is my favourite.
As with any game, if you haven't played any of the preceding games, please try the trial and decide for yourself.

ENCHANTING AND CREATIVE
STORY: Princess Sophia is now Queen of her kingdom and must go in search of the one person who can bring her parents out of their deep sleep. Well-developed storyline. Pocket dragon is back and this time he gets an additional power of wind. The hint system (the owl) is specific if you need help navigating the scenes.
OTHER STUFF: Your journal has information needed to solve some of the puzzles, as well as a map showing where actions are pending on Easy Mode. Music is non-intrusive. Graphics are magnificent; crisp and clear; the artistry is first-class using colors to create the various visually-appealing environments. Well conceived and executed details to make the atmospheres come to life. Superb!
GAMEPLAY: Mostly adventure, requiring finding objects in the HOS and solving fun and interesting puzzles. Good ratio of HOS and mini-games. The HOS are either list-based or pictures of different colors. For the pictures, you have to change the overall hue of the scene to one of the colors of the pictures before you can collect them. [Ex: you have red, blue, green and yellow objects. Change the hue of the scene to red to collect any red objects, then change the hue to blue to collect the blue objects, etc.] Puzzles are unique and challenging.
SUMMARY: An outstanding, beautifully conceived game with flawless play and enchanting environments to navigate.

Based on the Demo
This is a do-not-miss visually spectacular and compelling game. I can't describe how beautiful the graphics are in this game. There is a pocket dragon and an owl to assist the player with lighting fires and giving hints. The H O scenes were not run of the mill, they were different, and a lot of fun, not the usual, let's get this scene over with type of H O. They were interesting, as were the mini games and puzzles. Some of them pretty challenging.
The storyline was great, a young queen searching for her parents encounters evil mercenaries on the way to find them and then must not only find and free her parents but must free herself first.
The voiceovers were done in perfect English, always a plus, and the background music was soothing.
An excellent, must-buy game.

The best of the series!
I really enjoyed this game, most entertaining. The graphics were picturesque with lots of eye candy that made you smile at viewing each new area. But importantly, the game did not rely on this only to capture the gamer.
The storyline is good and the game never swayed from the purpose of the story. I like that! There are many unique mini games to enjoy, they made you think a lot. Fantastic voice overs and smooth cut scenes which blend without black screens in between (I hate when games do that). The HOS are well thought-out displays and are enough to add interest for HOS lovers without being overdone. The characters are stunning in their mannerisms and outfitted in detailed splendor that sometimes I actually paused just to look at them. I definitely recommend this game.

FUN Addition to series!!
Loved it, fun addition to series! And the bonus is worth the price of getting the collector's addition!

Based on DEMO
Based on the demo of the game, Awakening: The Sunhook Spire was a great change of pace compared to the last one, and before I knew it, my hour was up!
It is the most visually stunning of the games, I believe.
The puzzles I tried weren't too hard, but a few did give a nice challenge.
Others have already said what they think of the full game, but as a long-time fan, I think this would be worth the full buy!

Better and better
This game gets more and more inventive at each installment. The way they handle HOGs is probably the most unusual. Not only they are interactive, but also you have to switch back and forth between scenes.
The mingames are also inventive. The storyline continues Sophia's saga.
Since the story does not end yet, we may be looking at a new, more inventive game soon.
