I loved it!
I'm a big fan of the Aveyond series, and this game is by far the best! Its has so many different things to do, packed with so many monsters, and side quest, and great humor. Its just simply awesome, I've been playing it for years and it still hasn't gotten old. If your looking for a classic style, computer RPG then this is for you. Though if your just started with the series, i recommend you play the first Aveyond, so you can follow the story.

You control a party of characters exploring and on missions to accomplish. You fight battles and grow in strength, experience and money with each battle. You can return to towns to recover health and purchase stronger weapons and armor. You can pick different skills at the beginning to provide randomness to your character. You can also pick and choose who is in your party. Different characters have different skills, experience and weapons they can use.
Most of the story and tasks are non-liner. You must save yourself often to restart when you get killed.
Long ? several hundreds of hours

Bringing back primarily minor characters from the first Aveyond, Aveyond 2 draws the player into its unique story and threatens to never let them go again. ;P While I did love this game, overall, I have extremely mixed feelings on the goodie caves included within the game. One one hand I did appreciate the ability to quickly work my way through certain parts of the game. On the other hand, I thought that the caves took away the challenge, which is part of the reason why Aveyond is so much fun. But then, the caves can just be avoided, so that's not too big of an issue.

Great old school RPG- storyline and gameplay are excellent. I also highly recommend the other games in the series

This game is a kind of sequel to Aveyond Rhen's Quest. It is a pretty good game, definitely as long as the previous one. The gameplay is just as game and improved gameplay options allow for the use of a mouse which is much better than keyboard only.

Its just getting better
I thought the first one is great, but this is AMAZING! The sequel is what you expected, and more. The graphics is better, battle system stays the same, and the quests is more this time. I would recommend first time player to play Aveyond first, to understand the story better.

Fun but not as good as the first
Even though I love the Aveyond series, this is my least favorite. I had explored everywhere, done all the quests, and was nowhere near the level I needed to be for the final battle. This is the only Aveyond game where I sought out the goody caves to level up, because I just couldn't bear having to fight the same creatures over and over to level up.
The characters are the least interesting of all the stories (other than the fantastic militant squirrels appearance) and you can't really experiment with characters, as you need to play the same 4 to level up, as mentioned above.
Still, it's Aveyond quality, just not as good as the first or the "Mel" series.

Sequel to Aveyond Didn't Disappoint
In my opinion,it is not necessary to have played Aveyond I: Rhen's Quest in order to enjoy this game. It seems to take place a considerable number of years after the events of the earlier game. The structure is similar, however - a series of tasks must be performed leading to a final epic confrontation between good and evil. Here, Ean must help his friend Iya get the blessing of six nymphs so that she can regain the parts of her soul stolen from her by the evil Snow Queen.
I found that the music contributed greatly to the atmosphere of the story. Graphics were good, although some of the settings were a bit too pastel and twee for my own tastes.
There is plenty of monster-bashing and navigating maze-like caves, but there is also romance, a bit of character development, and humour. Having several different characters who can join or leave the party (each with different skills/spells/weapons) increases replayability.

Loved Aveyond 1. Hated Aveyond 2.
Aveyond 1 was an amazing game and is my favorite. Aveyond 2 had some annoying features that destroyed any enjoyment I might have gotten from the game. First, the game was poorly paced. When I finished all the preliminary quests and was ready to start approaching the final villain, all the members of my party were well short of their maximum strengths. To build them up, I had to keep replaying the same level over and over again. According to the game's timer, I spent more than half the time replaying that one level.
Second, even when I had maxed out the party's skill level, I still could not beat the creatures guarding the final villain. After days of trying - and several trips to the forum for hints - I gave up.
Third, some of the puzzles were unfair. For example, in one quest you have to find an object where you are not told what it looks like nor where it might be. If you want to find it on your own, you have to search every part of the Aveyond universe clicking on every single object you see. Talk about tedious.
As much as I loved Aveyond 1, this sequel was a horrible disappointment.
