Playable but no excitement attached. Based on me starting to play the demo. This is a Hidden objects/fragments combo kind of a game. You also got to find items and put them where they belong. Start with the negativity. The No's: No level on the options menu. No casual/times/difficulty. No map that I've noticed in this game. Just keep wandering, you'll get where you need to go eventually, I kinda dislike this. The hint will tell you, keep walking nothing to see here, in different words. and it's not too helpful. No captivating story. I skipped the written dialog that seemed cheesy and not interesting to me, The choice of the developers for fonts and use of shadow on words was not to my liking. The music was bearable, I heard it somewhere else, probably borrowed from a different game. They had me at graphics though. they are OK. So now for the positive: Graphics are good. well defined objects, clear and not tiring to the eyes. The gameplay is smooth. There is a guide at the beginning of the game and it's helpful. If you ask me, I probably will wait till it's on sale/daily deal. I wasn't too impress with the game as a whole, nothing special/new about it but recommend to try and decide for yourself. Mystery Age Is Anything But Mysterious Mystery Age: Liberation of Souls is all about fighting three evil entities and releasing souls. (Based on the demo) This is an old school game that is best suited for a beginner or someone who just wants a soothing, no challenge game to play. The artwork here is a blessing as it is hand drawn and colorful, but at times its a bit blurry and foggish. Judging from the setting, this game is either Japanese or Chinese in origin. It took a long time loading and moving between screens in the beginning. It does not offer any different play levels, although the very first does allow skipping of the tutorial and story parts. Later dialogue will only let you click through and does not have the skip. My main problem with this game is that it's just too easy and it's one of those that leads you around by the nose and takes away the fun of it. The black box tips practically tell you everything, while the so-called hints basically give you nothing. The HOG scenes are there, but are a varied mixture of find the hidden item and find the hidden item/use it to complete another . Overall, I liked this game, its a good effort behind the times and just too easy for an intermediate or advanced player. My advice is to try the demo before you waste money on this outright. Not too bad. This game is great if you are a beginner. There are no levels of hardness. The same music plays the whole time. and you have to read everything there are no voice overs. Some of the puzzles were interesting. They switch from HOs to find the pieces. September 23, 2013
It's just OK There are not a lot of bad things to say about this game, but there are not a lot of good things either. I found the animation lacking, but the background graphics are quite nice. The puzzles are kind of simplistic, but there are a goodly number of them. There is a map, but you cannot use it to navigate. It's worth spending a free game token, but I'm not sure that I would pay full price for it. All in all, it's just OK September 27, 2013
Worth a Freebie!!!! I can rate only a fair game. I have a free game so, I was will, use on this one. Most of the $6.99 games are never really good only when it's the smaller version of the CE. It takes a long time for, a worthy $6.99 game. Please on this big fish. September 23, 2013
Really could have used an interactive map Although there is a map, even though I never realized it until I was well over half-way through the game, it is pretty useless. The hint is a joke. I got lost so many times, but stayed at it. The story was good. As long as you remain determined, you can finish the game. Lots of back-tracking. September 23, 2013
Too Short!! I found it slow going from scene to scene. Loading the different scene's took forever. The help button wasn't worth using as it didn't tell you what you needed to know except that there wasn't anything to do there. Wish the map worked where you could jump from your current location to the one you wanted versus going through areas you didn't need. The scenes were clear and colorful. Liked the story line just wish it was a longer game. To short!! September 23, 2013
Just didn't cut it This game was ok...I read the other comments and almost didn't try it out, but then I've liked other games that didn't get a lot of good comments, so I tried it anyway. Alas, I can only give it three stars. I liked the story line, the graphics were good, the music was ok but I seldom listen to the music in games unless it's exceptional, so I turned it off, but here's the kicker, there's a lot of traveling because it doesn't have an interactive map. That was enough for me. There was a map that showed where you were and where action was needed, but you couldn't jump to that area. Here lately I've bought a lot of good games that have interactive maps, so I was surprised that this one did not. I would have bought this game if not for that. I suggest that you try this game for yourself; like I said, other than the map issue it's an enjoyable game. September 24, 2013
Simplistic but fun. This game could have been so good but it looks & feels unfinished. Graphics & scenarios very good but not given full potential. All in all very amateurish & needs some serious professional finishing off. Still, it's fun as far as it goes ... Decent 'help' & map required. October 1, 2013
A Nice Enjoyable Game ... Graphics OK, Music Got A Bit Boring, Little Or No General Ambient/Background Sound ... Voice Overs Would Really Have Helped To Fill The Void ... A Nice Playable Game With No Frills ... I Didn't Mind Giving Up A Voucher For It ... September 28, 2013
