Something a Bit Different Yes, there is a baddie, and yes, you have to save people but there the comparison to other games ends. Instead of a detective, you are a professor looking for students. The setting is a labyrinth under a university and the storyline holds together. Even the bonus game in the CE version works well and isn't just an 'add on'. This game kept me intrigued. I really loved the HOG's because they required thought - you need to pick up items in the right order, do something with them before you get the item you need. Again, something different. The collectables are reasonably easy to find but they lead to a collage of student activities which again is rather unusual and nice. From a point of view of trophies, it's the usual but presented in a different way e.g. a medal for the number of HOGs finished before the skip button fills, the number done without a mis-click (I failed this one *sigh*) and so on. I think I want to play it a second time to get all the trophies. As for graphics, sound and video, they did not impinge on my consciousness or enjoyment during the game so they suit the game well. Overall, a solid game with something different/unusual to challenge the regular player. October 12, 2013
Good, but out of balance I really liked the setting right away, and the storyline seemed promising. The game also has a high production value. There were a couple of things that kind of turned me off however. It really feels like the makers did everything to pile on combinations of discoveries upon combination upon discoveries to open doors that seem to do little else than to open areas that are again closed off right away. And it all starts all over again. This mechanic felt a bit too boring, and also a bit too contrived. It took me out of the story. All in all a good game but nothing new or special about it. average game to me I just thought it was an average game. Nothing real exciting. The HOS were different where you needed to find one item to use on another until you solved the HOS. Puzzles were ok. Has voice over. The graphics were average to me. No map. Hint button works good if needed. Pretty easy and straight forward game so will not need the hind button much. September 27, 2013
Less Than Average in My Opinion I have played over 800 HO Game Demos or Complete Games. It has been a while since I quit prior to completing the Demo. On this game I did after about 15 minutes. The game play was slow, the puzzles were meant to be challenging, but were simply annoying. The graphics were below average. Others complained about no map, however, I had one. I do not like games like this one which require you to travel back four or five scenes over and over again to complete. Spend your money elsewhere. April 22, 2014
Ordinary Hidden Object Game On playing free demo: The graphics were slow but clear. The sound & voice overs were scratchy/bad/incomplete. The puzzles were good. There was no map. The adventure was weak. The help was good. Too many short comings for this gamer - not recommended. September 27, 2013
Handholding Puzzles & Disabled Map Features I had high hopes for this game. I enjoyed the Collectors Edition of Sable Maze : Sullivan River, which had a level of complexity in the puzzles, and gameplay I enjoyed. While this was the Standard Edition, I thought, same designer... I even played the 60 minute demo. Wow, the only saving grace was I purchased for less than $4 on a special. The map consists of locks, or blank circles where gamer has opened. It does have a jump feature. No indication whether there is an open task. The culminating puzzle was four super easy jigsaw type puzzles, no piece rotation necessary. And, there were INSTRUCTIONS. I have used a walkthrough, so I am not above assistance. The instructions with these "puzzles" [that could not be turned off] were a downer. Don't waste your money. October 4, 2013
sable maze norwich caves I bought this game yesterday and hate it-can't seem to get it working properly. All the other games I have purchased are great. Sorry I bought this game. from - marmarbird March 29, 2014
