Can't wait for the final one! The story line in this one grabbed you and pulled you in. There wasn't the stereotypical story that is replayed over and over, and which you can figure out from the beginning. This game has a ton to offer in its play as well. Hidden object scenes aren't just tacked on and make no sense. Instead they are in sensible places, and what's especially unique is that you can interact with them outside of the HOS. Once you find things, often you can further interact with the area. Also, not everything is strict HOS. Instead not only do you have interactive scenes, but there are multiple types of game play in single games. Much more interesting and challenging then other HOS games these days. One of my favorite parts is that you hang on to your dagger. It drives me nuts that in most adventure games you find something useful, such as a knife or a lighter, then you use it once and just toss it over your shoulder. It makes way more sense that if you find a pocket knife, you are going to put the thing in your pocket and keep using it until the thing breaks or you lose it. The one complaint I have about the game would be the small mouse click areas. I would get really frustrated trying to do some action and check the strategy guide, only to find out I was doing the right thing, just not clicking in the exact tiny, little, pin hole area. I don't know about replayability, but this game is a definite win for making me anxious for the next chapter and dying to find out what happens next. October 25, 2013
I Love The Otherword Games! I love this game! I've been waiting for the Fall one to come out, and I was so glad when I came on and saw it, that I bought it without trying it first. Now I have all three and can't wait to see the Winter one. Boom Zap have outdone themselves with the Otherworld games, and although logic will say the winter one will be the last, I hope it isn't. I love all three games, but I think this one is the best. They just keep get better and better! The graphics are awesome in this game, and so are the animations. The HOS are not in the same scenes, and they're interactive and a variety, like find the shape, find the object, use some objects to find others, and find fragments. The mini games are mostly new ones, but I did skip a few, unless I could guess at what to do. One problem I've had with all three of Otherworld games is that I don't see the whole screen. I have a wide screen, but for some reason the game doesn't go all the way over to the left, so part of the right side is cut off. On the mini games the text that tells you what to do is on the right side, partially cut off; I don't get to see the whole text. I've tried uninstalling the games, changing the size, but nothing helps. grrr But, I play them anyway, and will play this one again, as I have the other two. I like the music in this one, and I left the sound up, which I usually don't do, and I like the other sounds, too. The characters are so great in this game, and really rendered well. The scenery is such that sometimes I just spend a few minutes looking at it all. You collect 60 objects in this one, and they're not fairys like the 2nd one, but dragons. The wings are very colorful so they're not hard to spot. There is a bonus game; it took me a little over five and a half hours to play the game, and an hour to play the bonus.(I played casual) There are also achievements, and other things to see, like the art concept, music, etc. I like everything about this game, and if you are a fan of the Otherworld games you'll like it, too. It's great! October 20, 2013
The Shade is back It really is amazing that I was thinking about this game now that fall has officially arrived and wondering when it would make it's appearance and now it has. The wait is over. I love the Otherworld series and #3 is just as good as the other two. You have to find and fix the perpetual prison that once held Shade, but he escaped and destroyed it. You have to find 3 fay beings in hopes that you will be able to fix the prison before the Eternal Winter comes and destroys all living things. The huntsman seems to be Shade's new side kick and somehow you do not have the amulet to use all the time and must renew its gift on a regular basis. Your first task is to find Kobold Smith. There is a lot to do and the hos are different and keep changing so that there is no way to get bored. The game started a little slow but as I got further, it started picking up (which I expected). The mini games are not difficult and thoroughly enjoyable. There are 60 fay dragons to find, achievements to earn and a strategy guide that follows you as you move forward. As I didn't use the hint button, I'm not sure how quickly it works or if it works outside the hos and how. The extras have your regular entries; wallpaper, concept art, sound track, replay cut scenes, and replay mini games. You have three options of difficulty which include casual, expert and hardcore. Loved the game, am purchasing the game when I finish this and recommend the game which you might want to try first if you haven't tried the other two. October 18, 2013
Otherworld: Shades of Fall CE Visually this game is always a stunner clear graphics and bright.Sounds :Just beautiful.Challenges were good but not that hard. Storyline of this game is what always drew me in since I first played it(I own the previous installments)Fiona, the Cloud Cat and yourself are still trying to find a way to get rid of the Shade.Only there's a twist in the story as to how it all began. In general: Beautiful game, storyline, challenges I would've liked if it was harder some of them were just predictable either way I still love this game.If the CE is not for you well you can always wait for the SE. GREAT GAME BUT A BIT EASY I love the Otherworld games. One of my favorite all time games is "Omens of Summer". My only complaint is that even in Hardcore it was very easy, mini games included. I never needed a hint, skip or even look at the Guide. Other than that the graphics, music, characters were all great. Happy Gaming!! October 23, 2013
it's beautifull game Was waiting for new game from this series. What can I say about this one? Played only demo so far, but this is definitely game which I like so much. If you like fantasy adventure games, you will like it. Thank you, Big Fish! October 18, 2013
Magical! I like Otherworld series, an Shades of Fall did not disappoint me! It's really magical. Great game, excellent graphics and music. It's atmospheric and addictive from the very start... you know I'd like this game be a bit longer though October 18, 2013
Fun and Easy game the game is not that hard pretty easy something you can just play and relax :) the graphics are good :) though the story is ok I think it can be better if they give more information on the characters backstory. October 19, 2013
Another great installment in the Otherworld series! This installment of the Otherworld series is a continuation of the ongoing story. I would say that if you loved the first two, you will not be at all disappointed in this one! June 19, 2014
How many times can you use the word "fay" in a game? I really like the Otherworld games, and this is a good next chapter . Beautiful fantasy graphics as always, I really like this developer's imagination. Voiceovers and music can be turned off, always a plus for me. HOS scenes are fun, and some games actually have a little challenge. Played on hardcore and easily finished the game. Strategy guide keeps pace, but doesn't have solutions to games, just the final solution. Game is a very good length, well worth the CE price. Plot fits in nicely with the series, but it's hard to understand why the main character keeps having to regain the "Sight". Collectibles are fairly obvious but beautiful. bonus epilogue sets up the next game. I recommend this whole series for adults who like fantasy games with a twist. October 29, 2013
