What's Not To Love About Awakening? Admittedly I am the number one fan of the Awakening series, so naturally I was super excited to be able to play a never ending game. Queen Sophia has left me in charge of the Kingdom, presumably because of my fan status lol! Basically you are given quests, you accept them and get rewarded with money, or resources. When you upgrade buildings you have to wait or pay with elusive crystals to speed up the process. The Hidden object scenes are easy but fun and you do have to re-visit the scenes 5 times each. There are a bunch of things you have to do in between and it does tend to make the game a bit confusing. At this point in the game I cannot go to a HOS because my energy is low and the store is locked with every energy source so after this review I need to figure that predicament out. If I had any complaints there would only be two, the fact that you have to find the same items over and over and a hint button to tell me what to do now would be nice! December 18, 2013
One of the Best FTP Games Out There! This is an amazing FTP game based on one of our all time favorite HO game series. It was created by the same folks that created Antique Road Trip: American Dreamin', BoomZap. If you are a fan of that FTP game, then you will adore this one. This game has none of the awful glitches that have plagued American Dreamin. I have been playing this as a sneak peak for a week or so and am at level 25 now. It is so much fun. I hope you enjoy as much as I have. I have spent a few real dollars on this game because I have been enjoying myself so much. You don't have to spend anything at all, but it does make leveling easier if you can afford to do so. December 18, 2013
Nostalgia for the Awakening fan! If you like the Awakening game series, then I strongly suggest you give this a try. It's complete nostalgia for anyone who's followed Sophia's journey from the Dreamless Castle to Moonfell Wood to Goblin Kingdom to Skyward Castle and to Sunhook Spire. It revisits locations from all these games, bringing back familiar characters, and using the same gorgeous music and scenery. However, Sophia isn't present in this game -- instead you get to see the day-to-day lives of the citizens, which makes you feel like you're living in the kingdom! I love the variety of mini-games, which were borrowed from the previous Awakenings - such as Tangram, Glass jigsaws, and Picross, plus an adorable animal quick-find game which was new to me. The mini-games are a fast way to earn experience points, so I use them for leveling up quickly rather than buying energy. I heard that Boomzap is continuing to develop the HOPA series with Sophia in it -- and the story there will be completely separate from this one. So you won't be missing out on Sophia's story if you skip Kingdoms. But if you consider yourself a true Awakening fan, at least give the developers a chance and try out what they made. To me, it serves as a very pleasant distraction, and a relaxing way to bide my time while waiting for the next Awakening HOPA. I was very critical of the Free-to-Play model as well, but after trying it out, I realized it's not really the money-grabbing scheme that others are labeling it to be. Sure, it's only free-to-play for the first few levels, and then after that, you have to wait-to-play. But why rush through it? It's actually healthy that this type of game forces us to take breaks. And besides, I don't want to get to the end yet. :) December 19, 2013
what a beautiful game! Thought it's new game game from the famous Awakening series, but have been surprised - it's a new free hidden object game on Big fish games. Because I love this series I've desided to try, but I'm not a fan of this kind of free games. And this is the defenitely the best free hidden object game so far. Actually the game mechanic is absolutely similar to others, same objects, same puzzles, on the middle level of challenge, they are OK, some are really fun, but the art style is on the high level, this is buy me :-) Gorgeous fantasy world! As for the story, all is clear-you can help to repair destroyed kingdom. There a lot of different puzzles and mini-games and, of-course, hidden object. Good game for play time-to time. Good But Slow I have other of the Awakening Series, and I liked them really well for the most part. This one has a lot going for it: - It is huge. I frequently finish most of these types of games in 5 - 6 hours of play, so it was fun to find one that I can play for a LONG time. - The graphics and music are excellent. Items are easy to identify, although you end up playing each HOP location multiple, multiple times. Makes it a lot faster, but gets boring too. - It has an interesting story line that morphs as you play so that is good too. - Resources refill even when the game is off. If you close the game down at night, it will be playable again in the morning. What I DON'T like about the game: - I just have a general issue with paying real cash for play coins. I wanted to play for a contiguous amount of time, but kept running out of energy to work on the quests, and the only way to get money was to do the quests. So I would buy more food items to get more energy and then I would run out of money which prevented me from upgrading buildings. Darn. I discovered that collections could be exchanged and some of them for a good deal of money, so that helps offset some of it. Overall it is a beautiful, fun game. I don't mind the continuous quests - they remind me of Wandering Willows in that you solve one thing and another 1 - 2 pop up. The key is to remember that you don't have to do all of them at once. And once I discovered that the energy bar refills even when the game is off, it became more fun. I just play a while and then let it set for several hours - kind of like the Virtual Villagers games. I would recommend this to anyone that wants an easy game that is casually played December 18, 2013
A great game full of possibilities! Giving F2P a chance :) This game is rich with beautiful artwork and hidden object scenes. Players and non-players of previous Awakening series will enjoy this. The music is so relaxing and lets you immerse in the fantasy world! The quests are abundant and make sense. The characters are enjoyable and the additional minigames in quests are a nice touch! I saw some reviews that hated it because they thought it was another PC HOPA version of Awakening but please keep in mind this is a F2P genre of Awakening and you are NOT required to pay for this game. It's completely optional! I enjoy games like these because I can check it from time to time and relax. So I'd say give it a chance and you'll see it's a good and really decent game more than others I've played :) December 21, 2013
Awakening Kingdoms! one of the first free to play games i have played, the graphics are very well done, the game play is easy to understand and the puzzles are amazing! the story is very very interesting! over all its a really cool game! December 16, 2013
Great Free Game This game is great, there are many quests to keep you busy. I also like that after each level up your energy bar increases so you will be able to do more each time. The HOGS are very simple but I find the challenge is in the quests vs the HOG. Very cute game! December 18, 2013
Wow! Just really amazing! I have to say, that this ranks right up there with My Singing Monsters as far as excellent quality and gameplay goes. The storyline is compelling. Princess Sophia leaves you in charge of the kingdom while she chases after her nemesis. The world is really expansive, So vast that I wanted to see more. The hidden object scenes were challenging. I love the Squabble pet :) as a hint finder. The music is very well done, giving the whole game an RPG feel to it. (and I love RPGs). I guess you could call this Awakening Online. This is the first game besides MSM that kept me glued to my computer, So I will be playing this game quite a bit. :) I can't wait to see what other regions and HO scenes there are and if any more can be added in the future. Just a quick note: People, you don't "BUY" this game, it's a FREE DOWNLOAD. You only "buy into" the game for getting store items such as Crystals, etc. to help speed up things. December 18, 2013
