Nevertales: The Beauty Within
Recently I've found Hidden Object/ Adventure games all a bit 'samey' and have been on the lookout for something a bit different. This game fits the bill. The graphics and inventory items look a bit different from the norm and the storyline is linear, not too much back and forth so far. There are also portals and I love portals which take you to a different environment. I haven't finished the game yet, but ventured to write this review to encourage others to try this one. I love it!

What a Surprise
This is offered after playing the entire game. I normally don't care for the fair tale games, but I did fall in love with this one.
I was beginning to think that all the designers were using evil scientists, but this offered something new and a bit exciting. The fun was there. The variety of hidden object games were really good and kept me on my toes. I did have quite a bit of trouble with the mini games. Even with the excellent instructions I literally could not figure out what to do with many of them. I guess that's why there is a skip button which I used quite a bit. I'm not saying they were not good games I just could not figure them out. Many were new to me which is good.
The graphics were awesome. The storybook drawings were fantastic as was all the aspects of the art in the game. The sound was very good with the voice overs working along with the story. The music was not boring and it too went right along with what was happening.
The challenge for me was those mini games. I can't wait to play again so I can try and tackle them one more time. I just did not understand what I was to do. The hidden objects were well laid out and varied so that you had to find things within the story to advance.
The map was very helpful as was the hint which refilled rapidly. At times it seemed difficult to figure out where to go on my own, but the map showed me where I needed to be and that was that.
The story was pretty darn good too. It is one you might tell your grandchild on a cold winter's night. It was eerie and offered some plot twists that kept you interested in what was happening next.
All in all this was a really good game. Although it was a fairy tale type game, it had realism in it as well.

Very interesting storyline.
Graphics are very good.
Game is laid out well.
Puzzles and HOs very good; different!
There is a jumping map, journal and task list, which is always good.
Length is good, as well.
You get your moneys worth on this one!

Truly a good game.
I thought this game was very interesting and exciting. Some puzzles were quite easy but others were really hard. The storyline was great and I love the voice overs. I never got bored with game and I played it all the way through. I totally recommend this game...try it I can guarantee you'll like it :-)

This game had an interesting storyline. The ending is a shocker. I was excited to find out what happened next!

Lots to do!
The things I didn't like about this game are the very things that will make many people like it a lot. It seemed like there was a puzzle, mini-game or HOS at every corner. Those who complain that games don't give them enough to do will love this one. I marked it down just a bit because for me, it was a little too busy. The producers clearly addressed those who get bored with plain old hidden object scenes. There were many variations of them in this game. Lots and lots of different things to do. I felt that story development was a bit slow and disjointed, which is where it fell down a little for me, but it all came together in the end.

Well worth the money
Sometimes I find myself getting bored with these games but this one I wanted to see through to the end. The story was engaging and the various characters that you met along the way livened it up a bit. I wish I had Gears in real life would make things so much easier.
I'm definitely not a hardcore gamer and the puzzles were right at my level. I only skipped one which was that knights and horses one and my husband helped me with the planets one otherwise I was able to manage on my own while at times still being challenged.
I loved all the book parts throughout the game where you got bits and pieces of the story. Shamefully I forgot about the baby half way through haha. I would definitely recommend this game to others and the only let down for me really is the ending. I wanted to sit back and enjoy the final parts of the story but instead had to complete some last minute mindless puzzles that interrupted the story. The ending just didn't wow me I mean seriously that's how she defeated the curse!?!

Better than I expected
Thanks for the map.
There are a lot of "returns to previous scenes" for one extra task, and if it would not of had a map I would wasted a lot of batteries on this one.

A gorgeous game to be immersed in, but I figured out the storyline right away so it was annoying to have the resolution so painfully spelled out at the end. Also, there's a cringe-inducing song at one point that made me embarrassed for the production team. I'm not sure who the intended audience is for this game, and I don't think they were, either. The puzzles were challenging but it was because they were not very intuitive, not because they were particularly thought-provoking. Just not the game for me, but others here seem to enjoy it.
