An Eternal Winter Vesna The Goddess of Spring has summoned the Child of Spring to stop the evil Morana's quest to keep the world in an eternal state of winter. It is up to you and the beautiful white ermine (which you get to name) to save the world one ice cube at a time! Certain items you find will require help from the ermine such as sharpening sticks and untangling ropes. The graphics are beautiful and the cut-scenes are of movie quality and you are certain to notice that same quality in the interactive HOS, very well done. You can switch to a match 3 game in place of the HOS. I liked this game even better than the last Myths, I really think the developers upped their game on this one, can't wait for the next, enjoy! Lovely Second Myth! BASED ON COMPLETED GAME FIRST IMPRESSIONS It must be said upfront I guess that this is a story that?s been done to death in the last couple of years. It is yet another Ice Queen banishing Spring and attempting to hold the world forever in Winter. Having got that objection out of the way, there is very little fault to find here, in this the second game in the series ?Myths Of The World?. I loved it. WHAT?S HAPPENING Vesna, the Goddess of Spring has come to you, a lowly peasant girl, for help in defeating the Goddess of Winter, who apparently has a bee in her bonnet and has banished Spring forever. Following Vesna through your mirror you do indeed arrive in a world that is totally frozen in ice and snow. Vesna gives you a Spring Brush which helps you defrost smaller patches of ice, and counsels you to seek help from the animals you meet. The first of these is an ermine who is thrown into a well of ice by the Winter woman. You save him and he becomes your pet. He has interesting less-than-obvious talents that help you out along the way. SIGHTS & SOUNDS Just lovely. Beautifully drawn locations which are often depicted in both winter and spring states, making a marvellous transition. The HOPs are the least cluttered I?ve seen in a long time, and the objects are clear and usually quite large. Sometimes the loading of one location to another is slow enough to create a black screen, but it is not there for long. The sounds are relaxing most of the time, with some exciting stuff when the action justifies it. I loved the (lip synch?d) voiceovers. MAKING PROGRESS This is a Hidden Object Puzzle Adventure, with roughly the same number of HOPs and other puzzles. The HOPs come in 3 types; interactive lists, silhouettes, and multiples. The list HOPs are visited twice and can be swapped for a Match 3 game instead. The puzzles are fun and not overly difficult, with a number of them being original and creative. The progress is usually clear enough, with a directional hint system, plus a 3D interactive jump map and a diary which lists objectives. FINAL VERDICT Despite the lack of originality of the story, in essence, it is actually treated in a sufficiently different way that it is not repetitive or boring. I loved this game, and found myself so caught up in it, I was sad to see it finished. December 1, 2013
RESTORE THE 4 SEASONS Can't imagine anyone not liking this game. It has 4 modes of difficulty, including customized play; and a map with objectives and notation of places where there are outstanding activities to do. STORYLINE: How awful - no spring (which probably means no summer)! Only hard-core winter sports enthusiasts would like a constant winter. It's up to you to restore spring. This is a LONG game since you get an achievement for completing it in less than 5 hours in the CE version. Since I play very casually, I'm expecting about 7 hours. The HOS are not crowded and the objects are nicely spread out, but the palette of the objects seems to favor shades of only a few colors, so you still have to hunt for the objects. If you prefer not to play HOS, you have a match 3, which doesn't seem to take as long as finding the list of objects. PUZZLES are terrific - not too difficult but still creative and entertaining. Love the ermine - he helps you with objects. His first task was to fix a messed up rope so you could actually use it. I preferred to watch him do it in lieu of immediately searching for other activities to do. VOICE OVERS and MUSIC were very good. There is no lip sync in English. But that doesn't bother me since the game is translated into different languages, so there would always be lip sync problems in some languages. GRAPHICS are superb; beautiful and very detailed locations. DIFFERENCES BETWEEN CE AND SE: A lot of thought went into this game and for me, the CE wins hands down over the SE, as it has everything I would like in a game and is worth the extra cost to me with its achievements, extra game play, movies, replay of HOS and puzzles, bonus HOS and buying stuff for your pet. But if on a budget, the SE should certainly not let anyone down. December 1, 2013
Beautifully done game I played the se version with a smile on my face the whole way through . I thought the scenery was very well done and it kept my interest from start to finish. The only thing I would change is the storyline, the witch taking over the land has been done many times before. Great game, hope they make lots more. January 7, 2014
ice queen!!! played custom. low sound. you can adjust the different things like how long recharges take if you play custom. you adjust how you want to play. 4 different levels to choose. you are battling morana who has turned the area into winter. everything is frozen or cold. she has taken "spring" hostage and you a "spring" person and you are needed to fight her. interesting game. great graphics. good hint system. a diary and a map, i think. you have little animal characters during the game. you have an ermine that stays with you. sequel...very possible in my opinion December 13, 2013
Love it Game is great. Highly recommend it. Lots of fun and challenging. December 1, 2013
Fun game, but way too short. Even though this is yet another story about an evil queen taking over spring, summer, autumn, whatever....I actually really enjoyed it. The scenes and locations are really pretty and even though all locations had been taken over by winter, it was lovely to move around in, despite some small delays in moving between locations. The HOS were well scattered around and not on every location, which for me can get a bit boring. Some you play twice. The scenes themselves aren't cluttered and you can see the items quite easily. There's a mixture of list HOS and silhouette HOS. You also get the option of playing Match 3 instead. The puzzles, I have to say, were very easy, however that doesn't bother me at all! I HATE spending ages trying to figure out a puzzle and what to do, so I really enjoyed these puzzles. Just straight forward performing an action like zigsaws, matching pairs or unscramble knots, etc. You get the usual hint and skip buttons and the difficulty can be customized to your liking. You've got a map, a notebook and also a fluffy friend helping you along the way, plus a 'Spring Brush' which helps you fight off the frost! Really had fun with this game, however I haven't given it five stars because it was way too short. I finished in just over 2 hours which is just not long enough for a game. I would probably recommend getting the CE so you get the extra gameplay. All in all, lovely fun game. Glad I bought and played. December 7, 2013
Great Hidden Object Adventure Based on the demo This is a great hidden object adventure game. The storyline is excellent, interesting, and intriguing. Beautiful visuals and music enhance the storyline and the game. Hidden objects scenes were fun with some interactive objects. Some were a list to find, others silhouttes to find. Objects found in the scenes were used in the game. Sometimes the h.o. scenes were a little sensitive. It took me 5 times of bringing the axe over the log to actually be able to chop the log for firewood. There are little animal helpers to assist the player, and little animals that need to be saved. Mini games were pretty easy. Voiceovers were great. Characters were realistic. A really good game. December 1, 2013
Easy enough to not need guide....but still fun! All three of the "Myths" games are pleasantly simple, well drawn and diverse enough to make a relaxing fun afternoon. These games are not for serious thinking, but for a few easy hours of enjoyment. The maps are all the help I ever needed ans only skipped a puzzle when it was one I really dislike. Hos and puzzles are clear and there is very little difficulty in any of them.....might be great for beginners, but if you play for relaxation and fun this could be for you. February 5, 2014
Good evening of Fun Puzzles, Hidden Objects & Adventure I really enjoyed this game! I play with my husband sometimes on our date nights. He liked this game so well, he just kicked me off and took over. He thought the "girls" were particularly pretty and the great story line, we just had to find out what was going to happen next. Stolen Spring on "Normal" difficulty, I considered to be an intermediate challenge. It took about 5 hours to finish for an almost expert player. I tried the C.E. and found this SE was just fine, given that it wasn't extremely difficult. Made for a relaxing evening without any frustration, well, maybe in 2 places I did get a bit 'stuck' for a while, but really, no problem. February 17, 2014
