Defend Ye Ancestral Castle! First of all I thought this TD game was almost too easy, but I think it's because the levels progress in difficulty just a wee bit at a time, which gives the player more time to adjust to the mechanics of the game. The graphics are much larger than typical defense games, which I kind of enjoyed because it is easier to identify the weapons on the field. Everything else about the game was typical, you buy and build weapons that destroy the enemy along a path to your castle and each wave sends bigger, stronger soldiers. Some of the soldiers are on horseback which is horrible, you can hear the horses cry out as they are being shot! Nice game other than that, enjoy! December 11, 2013
A Great Tower Defense Game This game plays most like the original Royal Defense game. It takes some getting used to, and lots of pauses and upgrades and use of gems to purchase needed upgrades, but with the right strategy a level can be won. There are several types of towers each with several upgrades possible. Every level has several waves of enemies and losing because you have the wrong towers initially is likely. However, since the waves never change, you can change your strategy and winning is possible. December 28, 2013
You Have To Overlook A Few Things Well, I've played the hour trial and I am going to buy it with the coupon, but mostly because I'm desperate for anything but a hidden object game! The game is fun to play and challenging. My only problems are the enemies that I'm "killing" are pretty cute and the horses scream when you shoot them. Geez - a little uglier foes and funnier sound effects would have been nice. December 11, 2013
Turn Down the Sound, Turn Up Some Fun Nice, balanced Tower Defense game. I like how it stepped up the challenge well, no great surprises. Graphics are nice, but the sound (winces)... something less wrenching than a horse and the sound of it screaming would be a better idea devs. For real. Besides this, though, this is a sweet little TD game. I turned the sound off and it was fine. One of the better TD games since Master of Defense. Thanks for that :). December 11, 2013
Great potential Overall it's like pretty much like all other tower defense games, which is fine as I like that genre. Yet it's still different enough from from their previous games that it seems like a new game. Especially with the graphics upgrade. If I actually played these kind of games in fullscreen I would definitely buy this game. Unfortunately I prefer windowed mode. And while that option is available, the window is too big and cannot be resized... Also not a big fan of tutorials that forces you to takes steps rather than just explaining them. Especially if those steps use up resources that will be "hard to get" later on. But after a first playthrough there is always the option of replaying without the tutorial on... December 11, 2013
I think I'll stick with Garden Defender It seems an okay starter game for the tower defender genre, but I've played a bunch of t-d's I found more challenging. I recommend it if you want a basic sort of "learn the ropes" game, but I don't see it offering a lot of challenge. March 16, 2014
boring Defend yourself! Peng, shot, dying. Shot, Peng, again die. That is not enough, that's boring. January 1, 2014
