Dangerous Games: Prisoners of Destiny Collector's Edition
Interesting and unique storyline and for the most part executed well. However, I felt somewhat trapped in my dilemma on this one. Graphics were good but not as crisp as in other games and I'm not sure the music really fit the overall theme. Characters also seemed to be lacking in their delivery, just not realistic enough for me. Lots of color, lots of explosiveness and lots of excitement, but somehow lacked the charisma to make it a stand out game. HOS were cluttered with many small objects that were difficult to pick out, but, there was some interaction to take away the total boredom. Mini games fairly easy and nothing really new. I only went as far as the demo and I will play the SE demo once out as I am not convinced this has the wow factor for a CE. Give it a try for yourself, maybe I missed something and the full game will give it more justice, but for now I am not anxious to go out and buy it. To me a disappointment!

HOPA in the flavour of Jumanji - worth playing
HOPA with a concept similar to Jumanji, but instead of board game, think card game.
I quite enjoyed this game, even with a not overly original story line. Definitely worth the purchase, I don't feel cheated.
There are are about 5 or 6 themed "levels" which need a specific power to complete, which you get by finding a playing card and getting it powered up.
The CE and bonus chapter, advanced level, took 3 evenings to complete, playing for a few hours each time.
- A companion creature which can get to hard to reach places, that is not too "saccharine" and overly cute. It made me smile.
- Clear graphics and good music
- You can find puzzle pieces in the game, which impact the bonus extra puzzle game you get to through the menu. Nice touch.
- I found it interesting how my opinion of certain characters changed over the course of the game.
- HO were nice and clear, and some objects you have to build up or click certain areas to make actions happen.
- Good mix of HO and Puzzles
- Really good bonus chapter, and bonus extras section - I normally don't bother looking at these on games, but I did on this one.
- Some parts of the game require specific areas to be clicked. Annoying when I clicked hint and it was telling me to do what I had just tried to do.
- A bit repetitive in terms of theme: get a card, do some puzzles, power up card, move on to next level
- I lost a bit of power towards the end of the game, possibly because of repetition
- I wasn't keen on some of the levels, they felt a bit short in scope later on in the game.
- Some of the puzzles I wasn't keen on and found them 'click' heavy. Not great if there is a lag between click and action, and you have several actions that need to take place. Slows things down. In the bonus chapter there was an annoying puzzle I couldn't skip.
The annoyingly slow to play puzzles which felt unresponsive would be only reason why I give a 3 and not a 4. I definitely found this game worthwhile playing compared to some other HOPAs I've experienced. I mark this 3.5 ! :)
If you play the demo you will get a good idea of expectation for the rest of the game.

Pass on this one!
I'll get right to the point -- DON'T BUY THIS ONE!!
I normally don't write game reviews, but I had to on this one. The story line in tired and while the graphics aren't bad, the cut scenes are ridiculous and totally unnecessary. Then, of course there's the mini-games. An hour and a half into the game, the mini-games started employing trial and error solutions, with no logic to them at all. And let's not forget about the HO scenes. I love HO scenes where you have to solve problems, not just find items. What I don't like is where you have to find 3 or 4 things to get what you're looking for and then having to use it to solve another problem.
The one good thing about this game is that there are 4 levels of difficulty: Casual, Advanced, Hardcore and Custom. If you do buy this game, I suggest that you select the Custom option and set it up the way that best works for you. The Casual and Advance settings are pretty much what you'd expect, but the Advance setting is a joke. You get such clues as "I need something here" and "I wonder what goes here".

Feedback For Blam! Review Based On Demo
This is just feedback for BLAM! here to let them know what kept me from purchasing their game.
I'm so sorry to say but I just didn't enjoy this game. For me this was a disappointment compared to your last game I played and reviewed: Punished Talents Seven Muses. This game you got 5 stars from me.
This game here started out just the way I like it the 1930's era as this is right up my alley. I really like these kind of graphics. You really had me with the storyline at first but then when it went to this "fantasy" world especially with the purple little helper that I had to name well you lost me there. Please no more cutesy little helpers in the game.Enough of this already! I also don't care for these kind of graphics.
I will say I did like that I could customize the game settings to my liking as there were no sparkles/black bar tips telling me what I needed to do in the game.
The HOS which I usually enjoy were beyond Sanford & Son junkyard piles. I didn't care for these too much.
The puzzles I am not a fan. Less puzzles the better for me. I prefer more on the adventure/HOS side but these were doable the ones I came across during the demo.
The achievements/collectibles in this game also didn't appeal to me. Truth be told I'm finding myself moving away from this "fluff" that once appealed to me.
Sorry but the best I can do for this game is 2 stars. I just couldn't get into it. I do however look forward to your next game offering unless of course you are taking your games to the "fantasy" type and graphics along with cute little animal helpers. If so well I'll have to add you to the no demo/no buy list.

I am surprised by the number of high reviews on this game. The graphics were decent, but the story line was so ridiculous and repetitive that I had to force myself to finish the game just because I paid for it. The length of the game was good, almost too good as I couldn't wait to end it.

Not So Great
Based on Demo. Same old rehashed story about being sent to a parallel universe & have to fight your way out or be stuck for all eternity. Big Yawn. The graphics are so cartoonish & downright ugly. Usual bland voice overs & junk pile HOGS. Music is dull. The SG shows only 1 chapter. There are achievements which pop up but achievement button was locked so I don't know exactly what they are. A lot of back & forth but the game was such a dud that I really didn't play all that long so I don't know how well the map works. Sorry BLAM developers but you game is a BIG dud!!

I just replayed this game and I am sorry I wated my time. There was no challenge it just felt like a lot of busy work. I am surprised I finished the whole thing.

It is obvious that these devs have experience with new graphics. The game is very high def, pictures very clear and colors are great. Level of challenge was ok. Sad that they used all these tech skills to produce a bazaar game in which the story is so lame that after a while I just wanted to get thru it to the end. Initially I found it very basic yet enjoyable. After the hour, I realized that the story was so ridiculous that I had to not pay attention to it at all. Sometimes a story will kill a game for me even though other aspects are high standard. Many times I thought... who thought this up with twists and turns that don't make sense and even through the bonus content I thought WHAT? REALLY?
Cute Buddy side kicks don't work in this game. Angelic choruses don't work either. Well You win some and you lose some I guess. I think there are "sleeper games" out there that can surpass this major gig game.

GRAPHICS ARE BASIC
After playing the super graphic games this one is too kindergarten for me. No way.
