Death at Cape Porto: A Dana Knightstone Novel
A Lovely Love Story!
I just love the Dana Knightstone games. It has a spark over it that makes it different, ignoring the fact that most of the games are, sadly, too short and too easy.
This game, based on the demo, was fantastic. I didn't get to see much of the game, but it was lovely. It's definitely a buy for me.
The story is about Gabriela, a ghost who was murdered in what seems like a lighthouse. Gabriela's love, Silvio Torres, was accused of murdering her. But as we know from the other Dana Knightstone games, of course he didn't. You control Dana in the journey to finally free Silvio Torres' spirit from the endless burden.
The game starts out gory, not sure if it continues. You get a small jumpscare here and there, nothing to worry about.
Overall, this game was amazing.

Intriguing well thought-out story with twists and turns. Awesome artistry with beautiful color palettes and graphics are crisp and clear. The Dana Knightstone games are such fun to play. So much to do, but you don't have to travel too much because the teleportal map will take you where you need to go. Unique method of playing HOS, besides the traditional list. Puzzles are varied and sometimes complex. Fantastic voice overs. Great music. Interesting nonlinear gameplay. This is one of the outstanding series around.

Fun Hidden Object Gam
Plenty of lighting to go with this one. Some are so dark you can not find all the objects.

Dana is back in true form. Yeah!!! Yeah!!!
I was afraid after the previous installment that the Dana Knightstone was in danger of becoming a generic adventure'HOS game.
I was wrong.
It is back with its star-crossed lovers story, and murder. Back to jewelike backgrounds that are a treat to look at. Back to inventive HOS. Back to the Dana Knighstones we fell in love with.
Now I want a fifth adventure! And a sixth! And more!!!

In Search Of The True Murderer!
Dana Knightstone has arrived at the beautiful grand opening of a motel at Cape Porto for a relaxing getaway, or so she believes. Dana has the unique ability to "see" the dearly departed and this ghostly adventure will have you snooping and spying on the hotel owner himself. Dana's visions give her the ability to travel back in time, and hopefully solve mysteries surrounding the untimely death of his beautiful wife, and the man accused of her murder. There are a lot of areas of interest in each scene, however, most actions are predictable and easy to figure out what to do. The HOS are interactive list finds but the poorer quality graphics make the items easy to spot. There were a lot of mini games and I did enjoy solving most of them such as re-constructing the family tree with photos to their correct positions as well as in either a male or female slot. If you aren't a fan of the murder mystery themed games then you probably won't enjoy this game but if you are, this one's interesting.

Neither bad nor good
Based on demo
The story is good and interesting.
For the sound I would not care less.
The scenery is bright and beautiful.
The game play is in a good level, sometimes challenging
-like the family tree making- and sometimes very easy.
(I believe this is good because I do not like to be stressed
and get headaches)
The length is decent ( little less than 4 hours for average
players in easy mode)
The help system (map, hint) is very good. Everybody can get the kind of help he wants.
In general, my opinion is possitive.

A Fun Mystery
Based on the demo I thought this was a fun game. It wasn't dark and evil like so many. It has a map and a journal. The journal just keeps important information that you need to solve puzzles and not a running story line like most. Like previously mentioned in other reviews the graphics are very beautiful. There are three levels of challenge to choose from. I played the middle option and didn't have any hand holding or sparkles. All and all a nice game for a lazy afternoon.

Fastest Ghost in the West
Here is my review after playing the CE version of this game!
I am a huge fan of the Dana Kingstone collection and have played every CE that has come out. And while it stayed true to the old-fashioned style and graphics, the length of the game appalled me even if I had only purchased an SE.
The biggest thing I look through reviews for on Big Fish is the length of a game, especially if I am investing money. So here is my experience and length of game:
After starting the game on Intermediate mode, I blew through the first chapter in only 25 minutes. Worried, I played the rest on Expert mode with no guide use, and still managed to finish the game in it's entirety in 3 hours and 20 minutes. So the entire length of the SE part was significantly less than 4 hours.
For those of you wondering if the bonus chapter would add enough time to warrant a look at the CE instead, don't bother. When the main game ended I was extremely disappointed. "It's ok", I thought to myself, "I still have the bonus chapter." Which I finished in less that 15 minutes. LESS THAN 15 MINUTES. With no guide use. Total time for both the game and the bonus chapter was still under 4 hours, which is absolutely abysmal and makes the amount paid for the game not worth the short gameplay either in SE or in CE, unless you are a true die-hard Dana fan or have a free credit to use.
The plot was the similar ghost apparition leading us on a mystery but actually almost identical this time to the last game, which was frustrating. The villain of the game doesn't try to stop you from poking around his house, so the danger thrill is minimal... (and the collectables for the CE were 40 cards that were easy to see and were put in each scene so it was no fun collecting).
I very much enjoy the Dana games?but this one was absolutely disappointing in length and freshness of the plot. But as a fan of the actual series, I do still recommend this game to any Kingstone fans that don't mind the shortness, in exchange for the ability to get back into this style of ghost world. But only as an SE, and maybe only as a free credit. Definitely do NOT invest in the CE. The bonus chapter is more like a bonus blurb, and the story resolves itself in the main game.
Happy playing, Big Fishies!

Very Slow Moving Adventure
Based on the demo
The visuals in this game are beautiful, with beautifully muted tones and bright bold colors. The voiceovers were great. The soundtrack was blah and boring, something to listen to if you have trouble sleeping.
There is an interactive map with teleportation to save the player a lot of "legwork".
The storyline was great: the first scene is a dream? memory? vision? of a slasher. The game showed a lot of promise but then if was painfully slow. There was so much handholding it wasn't even fun to play. There was no suspense, no angst, nothing I like in a game of this sort.
The only fun I had in this game was in a hidden object scene where I had to make a sausage pizza by putting the sausage on a cutting board and slicing it with a knife. It was the only time I got to use my brain.
It's a no buy for me.

NOT A BUY FOR ME
yawn, very slow boring game, could have been so much better.
