Has The Weatherman Gone Mad? What an appropriate game to play during this Noreaster Blizzard! Someone has frozen the entire town in the middle of summer, including your beloved sister. You arrive just in time to watch her frozen body being kidnapped by a madman who vows to keep her forever, and time is of the essence ( I'm frozen too!). You learn that the weatherman controls the weather, or does he? This is a very entertaining game with stunning graphics and a very interesting plot. The HOS are interactive list finds, and there are several areas of interest in each scene. I will admit that most of the mini games are fairly easy, mostly. The mini game I enjoyed the most was where you had to exchange colored balls on a rotating disc until they were in the correct color matching grid and you could use the empty space in the middle to achieve the goal. I usually recommend the CE because of bells and whistles but this is still a great game without the extras, enjoy! January 3, 2014
STILL ON THE FENCE Others will write the story so won't repeat. Game has: - Innovative and challenging puzzles - List-based HOS - moderate amount - Simple cheesy dialogue (seems to be what a child would write) - With better dialogue, storyline could have been much deeper and pressing; it doesn't suck you in and leaves you wondering how it started - Lovely use of color and texture - Extremely helpful hint system giving clear specific direction in casual (no need for a SG) - Seems to be missing a prologue to understand the story fully - Crisp clear graphics - Much running to one place for one object, then back to use it; repeat - Imaginative use of magic pencil creating live creatures from drawing SUMMARY: Due to the simplistic dialogue (people don't talk that way except in "See Spot Run" books), the story isn't perceived by me to be truly developed into its potential (which it surely has). It has everything else. And I really like the idea of being able to paint/draw something on a shiny surface and having it come to life. But the lack of story development and dialogue are what put me on the fence of whether to buy. January 4, 2014
Fun Hidden Object Adventure Game Based on the demo This is an excellent hidden object adventure CE with beautiful visuals, a nice soundtrack, excellent voiceovers. The characters are nicely done. Mini puzzles are challening and a lot of fun. Hidden object scenes are a little simplistic but still interesting and fun to play. There is a journal and map that will take you right to the location you need which is really helpful because there is a lot of "back and forth" and "running around" in this game. The storyline, with a kindapped heroine, although it has been done before, is really interesting. The twist in this game is that there is a Weather Master who is supposed to keep the weather moderate but instead becomes so enthralled with his own power that he puts the kingdom into a deep freeze. This causes a lot of problems for everyone involved. This is well worth a SE price. There is plenty to keep you busy in this game. January 3, 2014
Frozen Heart, defrost, and defeat!!! I have just conquered this icy adventure, while the entire country has experienced sub-freezing temperatures. Wonderful, visually stunning game with LOTS to do. I really enjoyed this HOPA and I am stuck indoors, had hours of fun solving this game. Save Emma from a crazed scientist who's father taught him how to control the weather. I played the CE version which contains bonus adventure, saving Emma via secret trail a 2nd time. It's an enchanting quest that leaves you wanting more..... January 8, 2014
Too Short. This game was fun to play, but I must say it was extremely easy so I highly recommend this for a beginner. It is a really short game. Wish it had been longer. There was so much potential that the developers missed. For a SE it had things I like in a game: -- No technical issues! -- List HOS, but they were way too easy; everything was easy to see. -- There is an interactive map which shows scenes that have things to do and it transports you there -- one of my favorite ideas from developers. -- The hint button recharges quickly, but I confess I really didn't use it. -- Very pretty graphics. -- Nice music and appropriate for this game. -- The puzzles were very easy, so I don't think I skipped too many. I usually have trouble with puzzles, but most of these had very clear instructions and were easy to finish. I don't think this will be enough challenge for hard-core "experts", but I consider myself an expert and I liked it just fine. Sometimes it's nice to have an easy game. March 23, 2014
BOOOOOOO!! The game was so short. It played a little longer than a bonus chapter would be. For that reason ONLY I cannot recommend this game. Overall the play was fun, the mini games were on the easy side. I played in expert mode. There is no need to reference a hint or walkthrough. January 23, 2014
Not too great Too much jumping around for items. Terrible sound. Very lovely drawings. Too choppy for me. January 3, 2014
Still not sure about this one I played the CE of this and felt it was not up to CE standards. However, with the brutally cold weather here and me absolutely despising cold weather, I sat down and played the SE. This is a ho hum story. You go to meet your sister for her birthday in July, but alas, a freak blizzard strikes, your sister gets frozen, and is kidnapped by a raving lunatic weathermaster. This is a very very simplistic game. HOS are easy. Puzzles are easy. Game play is so linear a child can do this. I may eventually purchase if there is a DD or some other sort of very very inexpensive special on this game. Otherwise, it's a pass for me. January 5, 2014
No secret what trail this game is on and the characters are quite frozen... Another promising game as far as initial cut scenes and graphics are concerned [they were rather lovely] as well as the potential based on the general outline of the story; unfortunately, it just doesn't pan out or hold together. The gameplay is quite ordinary and also very rigid; by that I mean it was very restricted and introduces uninspiring characters that are as stiff [quite literally due to the plot and figuratively speaking].... They were as unmoving, non expressionative and robotic as the ice dog... it's very difficult to warm up to that [pun intended]. In addition, something was just lacking that I couldn't put my finger on overall and there was really nothing much that pulled me into the game, unfortunately. Even on the difficult setting, there was just too much handholding... having several items on hand that could have been used for multiple tasks yet being restricted from using them despite it being a next logical step is just annoying to me as well as unimaginative and disrupts the flow of the game. The music was blah and rather depressing, which was inappropriate to the lovely setting [despite it being a darker theme]. It would have had a better impact and would have been chilling to actually have nicer music with the nice staging [environmental setting] while strange occurrences that were introduced as the main theme of the game unfolded [and then added dramatic sound for impact]. So even as a SE, I will probably pass on this one unless I become desperate [or apathetic] in the near future and will then use a coupon code. Give the demo a try... it's not awful, it's just very ordinary, run of the mill...and not that good IMO. January 4, 2014
