Wow, A Pretty Good Match-3 Game!! I've been waiting for a good match-3 game and this might just be a game that I put at the top of my list of favorites for this year, of course it is still early in the year, so who knows. The game has two modes of play. Casual and advance where you play to beat the time. There are also three game plays, storyline, challenge and Zen. You can't play challenge until you play chapters 1-4. Each time you complete one of these chapters, challenge will open. Zen requires you to complete chapter 1. As you gather money and resources, you can purchase buildings, etc. There are mini-games to play to get power ups. The instructions for the mini-games, none or not good. But that does not take away from the overall game. I played 12 levels in about 40 minutes and still had not completed chapter 1, so this game might have some great value in length. Challenge is pretty good. I played in advance, time mode and the last two chapters I played, I had to replay to beat the clock. Sound and visual quality were excellent. The sound did not take away from the game play. Not waiting anymore for a good match-3 games because this one hit the spot for me. I'm off to purchase to continue game play. Enjoy! January 28, 2014
A Little Of What You Like BASED ON DEMO FIRST IMPRESSIONS Undiscovered is an undiscovered little cross-genre masterpiece. It really does have a little of everything. Don?t be put off by thinking it?s another cute little Match-3 game. It is. But it is also so much more! SIGHTS & SOUNDS The graphics are simple, but their less-than-state-of-the-art standards are cleverly disguised with the less than subtle use of an airbrush. The game looks soft and gentle throughout as a result. The match-3 items are simple and pleasing, as are the huts we?ll build and the hidden objects we?ll find. The whole setting is prettily portrayed, with beautiful beaches and jungles. The music varies, but in all cases is sweet. WHAT?S HAPPENING? You are helping the survivors of a shipwreck, making good use of all you can find and salvage, exploring the island you are stranded on and setting up some basic shelter. This covers the opening chapter of the story, which I still had not completed in the 45 minutes I played. GAMEPLAY Well, where to start? There are 3 modes to the game. Story mode, challenge(not sure) and zen (untimed). You must complete chapter 1 of story mode to unlock the other two. But that doesn?t mean you are fighting the clock for the first chapter. You can choose casual, which allows you to continue past the clock, or expert, where you must achieve each level?s goals within a set time. I played casual, and would never even dream of trying to stick to the clock, but it was still 15 levels before I started losing the time bonus. You have a field guide to keep track of tasks and record story elements. It?s both handy and fun. The MATCH-3 game is pretty standard with the usual bonuses, powerups and obstacles. The BUILD game is basic at this stage. Just a few upgradable huts requiring points to build, some other buildings that require specialised equipment you?ll find along the way. The HOP is again simple. Nothing exceptional, but pretty, and the items are easily spotted in the uncrowded scene. There are occasional (so far easy) PUZZLEs. Not many. I saw one. There is even a very basic ADVENTURE component. In one level, you come across an ancient statue that is damaged, you must look around you, find the missing pieces (beat up a venus flytrap plant) and reap goodies when you fix it. The one game type not yet represented is TIME MANAGEMENT, which is fine by me, but I am suspicious. Something gives me the feeling that even that is possible in the levels to follow. Remember, I have not even finished the first chapter. COMBINED IMPACT This is actually not a game I would normally play. I am strictly a HOPA fan, with the occasional ?other? type when bored. Yet I enjoyed this, and only stopped for this review. For anyone who is more versatile in their playing, this will be a real light-hearted treat. I think it is a game to delight all ages and interests, and levels of competency. Have fun! January 28, 2014
Eager for more Based on the demo. This game is the answer to my wish. I've been wishing for a new, great M3 game and this is it. Bright, colorful visuals with pretty items to match. A lot going on but can play without any timed elements (sometimes even an untimed mode will have annoying things you have to do fast--not this one). Powerups are understandable and functional. I love the turtle cartoon.. Lots of fun and low stress. HOS and mini-adventures for mini-games. A sure buy. January 28, 2014
Enjoyable Match-3, Builder, HOG Combo! I'm enjoying this colorful Match-3 combo with elements of building, hidden-objects and puzzles. And thank you, developers, for including a casual mode! Easy enough to play while I'm watching TV, but challenging enough to keep me interested. Nice combination of game play styles to break the monotony of straight Match-3 and pleasant background music for those times when I play with headphones. You can move to the edges of the map with your mouse to see the entire play area. Not sure how many hours I'll get out of this, but I can always go back and play timed/challenge mode, then play again to try to beat my score. Plays great on both Windows Vista or Windows 7. I haven't played a Match-3 I've enjoyed this much in awhile. I put it right up there with Gardenscapes, Fishdom 3 and Hidden Treasures of the Deep. Great fun and highly-recommended! Definitely worth a game credit! January 30, 2014
It's a yes from me Opinion is definitely divided on this game but personally I'm loving it. It's true the vine levels don't make for relaxing game play but those levels do not reflect how hard the rest of the game will be. For example I found level 47 a lot easier than level 25. This level and level 58 have been the most challenging for me. Now I'm on level 70 in story mode and thoroughly enjoying myself. I don't understand the reviews that have called this game boring but then I thought The Snow was abysmal and it got some pretty good reviews so I guess it's just down to personal taste :-) February 1, 2014
Undiscovered Well knock me down with a feather that was harder than I thought but still a great game to play January 29, 2014
Still Liking It! I'm at Level 87 and still liking it! With each game the board changes and so I am not bored (oh, sorry, it's late). The music is bouncy and there are about 4 alternating tunes. I was relieved that there is a minimum amount of Hidden Object scenes and there is not much to building on the different islands. I like to just play M3, not have to stop and perform meaningless tasks. This is a challenging and fun game! February 2, 2014
Variety No boredom here. Hidden object, match 3, adventure, all in one. Enjoy! February 15, 2014
