Another fun Monument Builder (keep 'em coming!) I like the Monument Builder games, I like the historical info you get along the way, and the town clearing & building game play is fun - it's one of the few games I bother noticing the storyline and enjoy readying the side bits. Most of the facts were great, I liked the history lessons between games. There was even a few pop quizzes while you played - more jewels for correct answers. It gets hard to make gold time without enough jewels to spend on bonuses, tho! I didn't notice until halfway in that you lose the jewels you spent if you restart a level, so I wasted a lot and found myself replaying the first levels on more than one occasion, to collect enough jewels to play the subsequent levels with one bonus, automatic delivery. It was challenging but not in a head exploding way : )) All in all, worth the play! There should be more of these games, with the fun gameplay and history lesson on the side. March 30, 2014
Meh. Not super awesome. I think the Monument Builders series has been slipping since the first two games were released. They get increasingly cartoonish, and some levels are ridiculously impossible to finish within the three-star time limit. If the game was more fun, going back and trying to get three stars would be fun also, but because it's just kind of boring, I didn't even bother. I finished the game a day after buying it, and I slept and worked in between (i.e., I didn't play continuously). March 12, 2014
Disappointing I have been a fan of the series and never expected to be actually bored by a Monument Builders game... First of all, I instantly disliked the graphics. Compared to the early versions (Eiffel Tower, Titanic) it all looks way too cheap and colourful. Still, for an interesting new game - finally, among all the HOG - one puts up with quite a lot ;-). But it just won't keep me interested. Scenarios hardly vary, orientation is a bit of a challenge among all the colourful density and things move rather slowly. I'm not sure if I'll ever even finish it.... I do admit that I might be a bit more patient if the whole "new look" of it wouldn't put me off quite as fiercely. But it definitely does. Seems such a shame to let go of a winning concept! So while I will not recommend this, I'll gladly point you all to the earlier "monuments"! March 26, 2014
Not as good as the others I'm not sure if Great Wall came out after or before some of the more recent titles, but if it's after they have gotten worse. I really like Titanic, Eiffel Tower and the Statue of Liberty. This one's graphics were bad. The play was "overly busy" visually and for no apparent good reason that I could see. Pass on this one and get one of the others. Not worth the money when other Monument Builders are so much better. August 11, 2014
Disappointing I loved playing the earlier Monument Builders, but this one was disappointing. The music was nice but became very repetitive and then got annoying. Some of the bonuses seem initially helpful but they reduce the skill required to play. The colours were so bright that it was hard to see who was moving - maybe this was meant to be part of the challenge but it was tiring to play. I didn't like the new graphics and character style of this episode. I only played the trial version. If you liked the early games you may not like this one. March 31, 2014
