World Mosaics 7
Disappointed in WM7
I have greatly enjoyed the previous WM puzzles and own 4, 5, 6, and now 7. 7 just didn't measure up to the previous games. I didn't like that many of the puzzles had large grids but little actual playing area. I did not care for the shiny tiles.
I think these puzzles were done by a different artist--sorry, but I prefer the original artist. I noticed that the old style came back about half way through the bonus section.
Please bring back the original artist.

The Bonus Round is Good
I like to relax with games of this genre. While I think the World Riddles games are the best of the bunch - this one is OK.
I found the regular gameplay too easy. But the Bonus games were better than the main game. So it's not a bad buy - especially if you have a coupon.

Next World Mosaics needs to go in a different direction!
I have completed every World Mosaic puzzle and bonus game prior to playing #7 and I have to say this one is a let down. If you want the completed mosaic to have any resemblance to the puzzle you finished then you need to look elsewhere. Half the time, I can't even make out the mosaic even after they tell me what it is. Famous people are in grey scale and Famous places are a blur... but that would just be an annoyance if there wasn't so much dependence placed on having to "guess" the next move... NOTE: in addition to the WM games, I've completed every level on GOLD in the World Riddles games and completed Gemsweeper with minimal replays... I am not used to having to "guess" this much! Yes, the hints are helpful #usually# but I've come to expect so much more from this series... As another reviewer stated, the larger grids don't benefit from having have the rows empty and only 1-3 selections per line!
Confirming what some other reviewers have stated: the background does blend in very well with the puzzle area so it can be difficult to see what is open or not causing mistakes that didn't need to happen. Yes, this game allows for lots of mistakes and hints are usually refilled just as I need them so I haven't had to replay anything yet. And yes, this series is still better than some of the recent "Riddles" games of the same type.
Mosaics are one of my "go to" puzzle favorites and World Mosaics has always been an instant purchase in the past. They need to take care not to ruin the loyal fan base they have created!

Mixed feelings - hard to see and crashes
I've loved all the WM games, and was excited to see WM7 come out. This one is a little disappointing for me. The background makes it hard to see, as others have commented on. My version (Mac) crashes fairly often, too, which is something I'm not used to in the older WM versions. Disappointing.

Transparent backgrounds blend in with the game area. Very difficult to see.

#7 isn't much fun
I have looked forward to #7 and have all the others. My main experience with this one is this; There are so many times it was up to a guess and risk a mistake . I like when there is some type of logic and not just a shot in the dark. So many 1's and 2's in a row ,low numbers in a large puzzle that I stopped playing out of frustration. Love the other in the series but this is a BIG miss for me.

Difficult to see.
I play a lot of these mosaic games but found this one to be very hard to play as the grid is on a background picture and makes it very hard to see. I wish I had tried the free play before buying, but assumed it would be a good game.

Didn't get the gist of this game at all. Sort of a cross between a Sudoku puzzle and just shoot me now. Not entertaining in the least.

People Giving This Game 5 Stars for Nostalgic Reasons
This 7th installment of the World Mosaics series should be the last -- unless the developers can come up with something original for a change.
* Game mechanics are the same. Nothing new or original. Still have the same little light bulb icons for hints and the same annoying sound effects.
* The playing grids blend into the background pictures making it difficult to see what you're doing. Too much eye strain.
* There's no description of the item you're trying to decipher which makes it very difficult to even guess where to put your markers.
* There's no final score tally which would be nice if you wanted to replay the game and try to beat previous scores.
I LOVED World Mosaics 1 thru 5, but the developers have gotten really lazy with 6 & 7. In fact, I sent them an email telling them exactly what I stated here.
If you are new to the World Mosaics series, play WM 3, 4 & 5 for some great fun with Fairy Tales and Holidays Around the World. THEN play this one and you'll see what I'm talking about.
