This would be 4 1/2 stars if.... I like this game. Really. The graphics are great, the voice overs well done, story line interesting. HOWEVER... the HOS are sooooo very irritating that I can barely give this 3 stars. My rating of the fun factor has been totally skewed because of the HOS. They have ruined the game. You are not given the standard list in a pile of stuff. You are given pictures to find. And sometimes the picture is only an idea. Sometimes it's to be put together (picture of hair + ribbon and you have to figure out which item is the answer). Sometimes use. Each HOS has at least 3 parts to it. Just as soon as you think you are done, there's more. I can't even begin to relate how annoying this is. I'm not a fan of the traditional list HOS, I enjoy things off the beaten path, but this takes the cake. It has killed my enjoyment of the game. I want to see how it ends, but I now see that I am racing through the game with lots of hints just to finish. Wish I hadn't bought the game. August 5, 2014
Annoying Graphics were great and everything else was lacking. In my experience a game's best part is in the demo and if this demo is the best this game is going to get it isn't worth playing because it's boring, silly, and annoying. The one HO scene I got to was very short, very simple, and had this annoying device where you had to tip things over to find pieces of the item you had on the list. This HOS seemed like it was designed for a two year old. I guess that makes sense since the whole story seems like it was written for a child but it definitely isn't what I'm looking for. I really hope they stop making games that have some creature in the hint box location that continually flaps its wings's really annoying having that thing flapping in your peripheral vision non-stop. They put a fairy in the hint box in this one and that alone is enough to just not like this game. June 23, 2014
Completed Game Review - Not a winner this time. Myths of the World: Of Fiends and Fairies drove me nuts. While there were a few things that were really cool about it, there was just too much that was not good at all. I'll give credit where it is due. The art and music are great. The characters are really well done and funny. The HO's are cool, different and fun. Now to the awful. There was a lot of illogical, ridiculous use of inventory items that made me want to scream. It seemed almost constant throughout the game and really spoiled it for me. Then there was the overuse of cut scenes and conversations. There were just too many of these for my taste - I felt like I was constantly being put on hold. Some of the puzzles were not the type I care for so I didn't enjoy them - but that's just personal preference. There was no logical flow to the adventure aspect. No rational reason to look in a certain place for something you might need. The game play - the overall flow of the adventure is what I look forward to in these games, and that simply was not something I think was very well done. I liked the trial well enough to purchase the game but after getting through the entire thing, I can't say I would recommend it. July 15, 2014
Hidden object Game This would have been a fun game if there had not been long pauses and a black screen between action, puzzles or scenes. Visuals were good and sound okay as well as story line. June 20, 2014
Wait for the standard edition This is a perfectly fine game, but it didn't click with me. maybe it was the bad "oirish" accents, maybe there was just too much talking and not enough action in the half hour of the demo that I played, maybe it was the multiple choice question and answer that seemed to come up every time you interacted with something, normally I'm a big fan of these types of games but something just didn't click. Review based on demo only. June 18, 2014
I Am A Fiend I was going to write a full review, but on second thought the opening event encapsulates my "review." The first thing you do is make a dress for a fairy. That says enough for me. Except that this game was clearly not designed with me in mind. However, tastes do differ so give it a try. July 8, 2014
Not good, where is the adventure in this game This is just a lot of puzzles and lot's of so called HO's in different shapes. I am sorry, but this I can't call a game where I find myself in a good story and want to go on rescuing something. I hate HO's no matter if they come as junk piles or shapes. In this game you do nearly nothing else. June 10, 2014
this game is no fun this is the most awful game i have ever played June 12, 2014
Glad to have extra trail. !!! Extra time great. It gave me a chance to play more Good thing. It saved me money. No thrill at all. Can do without bugs and stuff. With a good mystery no need for any of that. Lets see for the next one. Surly keep the stupid stuff for the junk pile. June 8, 2014
JUST HATED IT !!!!!!! Way too much talking and what's with the "questions" mini games??? And then there's that ridiculous owl, let's get back to games without all the "interacting," not everyone is fascinated with story lines and graphics. It used to be that I couldn't keep up with all the great games Big Fish would release; now it takes weeks to get a decent game. I've been with BF for at least ten years and am just really disappointed with all these new games that aren't challenging or interesting. What I really need is a good Mystery Case Files game, is that too much to ask????? June 9, 2014
