The Secret Order: Ancient Times
The Mask and Scepter that were stolen a few weeks ago are now unstable and consuming the world into oblivion. The only solution is to board the Royal Griffin once again and travel to Nineteenth Century London to destroy the artifacts that were created from celestial materials. It's already too late for Sarah Pennington's father and museum curator Christopher, the artifacts are too powerful and they too are being consumed into a vortex void, it's time to save the world!
I love the way this series ties the stories together, yet make the game unique enough to stand alone for those who haven't played any of the Secret Order games. I also recommend the Collector's Edition because of the available Griffin collectibles, turquoise Unicorn collectibles and golden Dragon collectibles as well as a bonus game and built in Strategy Guide. The graphics are superb in some areas, crystal clear and colorful but I wasn't thrilled with the blurry ill defined items in the hidden object scenes, this made no sense to me. Another feature this game has is a baby Griffin that hatches and becomes your sidekick. I wanted a majestic Royal Griffin and this baby playdoh griffin was out of place and clearly hatched to add a cuteness aspect. Other than that I loved this game.
The hidden object scenes are interactive list finds and finding fragments of a single item, there was an option to switch to a game of Mah-jongg instead of the HOS. Although I wasn't thrilled with the graphics of the HOS, I was thrilled with the mini games which ranged from simple puzzles to complex thought processing games. My personal favorite was the game that required you to use directional mirrors to guide different colored light beams to the color matching gem, some mirrors were broken and could be fixed, others were broken and you had to bypass that area.
If you have the chance, start with the first game in this series, BUT this is merely a suggestion and not required to enjoy this solid game. This is the type of game that has plenty of interactive areas in each scene, and a pleasant change of scenery between the current world and the olden world of yesteryear, a thoroughly entertaining game which allows you to save the world (hopefully) enjoy!

I really enjoyed everything about this game. It is one of those that has enough substance that I know I will play it several more times in the future. The artwork is beautiful.
I loved the baby griffin and all the other fantastic creatures and can't wait to see them all again.

Made Me Use My Wits
I enjoyed the game a lot. I hope the other Secret Order games are this good. If you like to solve puzzles, and more than just 'hidden objects'; investigate this game. I think you'll like it.

I really liked this game. Sometimes, very challenging and sometimes too easy for an "Expert". I will recommend this game to anyone who likes a good Mystery. Where are the "Bonus" Games?

Beautiful Standard Edition Game
There is a lot to do in this game. You travel to the past in order to destroy artifacts and along the way you acquire a cute baby griffin to assist you. You have a map, notes, and a hint key. I thought the game played like a CE becasue it was long and complex. I really liked the mini-puzzles (some new to me); there are also story boards to complete. A big plus for me you only went to the HOs once.

A long, interesting, challenging game
the review title about says it all. I did not care for the demo in the first game of the series so didn't purchase it. This game, however caught my interest right away. Love the realism mixed with computer graphics.. soo much to do.. most of the puzzles were doable for me (and I usually end up skipping) map worked great although I rather try to remember where to go and what to do and walk it.. hint system works fine. I was able to switch between the standard interactive HOs and a majohng game.
I estimate it took me between 5-6 hours to complete and I understand there might be a 3rd game to the series which I will definitely purchase after enjoying this one so much.

An okay game.....but
Fortunately I got this with a coupon; definitely would have thought twice before I paid full price. DD probably. It just goes along. However I had lots of coupons with a deadline so I bought a lot of so-so games. This was one of them. I liked the first one okay.....perhaps a little more, but the stretch is that you just don't do things with complete logic. In order to get something caught in the grass, you set fire to the grass. Amazing that only that small part of grass burns! You get a crayfish who acts like scissors for you. The only reason I tried that was the map said I could do something and I only had a crayfish and my brooch! Sure enough, it cut through some roots. Developers....please don't stretch my imagination quite so far out there. Otherwise, an okay game. I shall finish it but will not be replaying anytime soon. In fact, I will have to forget everything about the game before I try it again. So...I'll recommend only if you have a coupon or it's DD.

Not a stand out
I played the previous two games. Even so the premise here is very vague. Your father was in trouble, threatened by unknown forces, and nothing was explained from there. The villain made a few shadowy appearances throughout the game, but did nothing memorable. Basically, the plot had nothing to propel it along.
The game play is fairly standard. Graphic quality is okay. The biggest problem is just no interesting story.
