Sea of Lies: Nemesis Collector's Edition
The Bar Just Got Raised A Little Higher
This game certainly sets the bar a little higher for expectations of a Collectors Edition! First of all there are several modes of difficulty including a customizable setting. There are a ton of extras too, the making of, pictures, movies, music, a souvenir room (you can buy souvenirs with the booty you find) chest room (where you store your plundered chests full of booty) chest hunt (you have to find them all first) match 3, HO, puzzles. a bonus game and of course a built in strategy guide.
You are sent to an investigation in a cloak and dagger manner because a murder in town doesn't help those of political importance, so for now this death is on the down low. The victim is Rafael Ramirez and as you investigate you will learn that Rafael believed the ghost of Nemesis was after him, all that is clear is that someone was after some artifacts but who and why?
There are achievements to earn, such as using the map to jump quickly to another location, and there are 40 hidden chests full of booty to plunder and buy souvenirs with. You also have a fingerprint kit that will allow you to investigate certain areas a little more in depth. The Hidden Object Scenes are a variety of every different type available, interactive list finds, picture finds, silhouetted shapes, progressive silhouetted shapes where you use the items you find back into the scene to find other items, and even finding multiples such as 3 spoons and 3 forks. If you don't enjoy any of those you can opt for a game of match 3. The mini games are twists on older versions such as connecting pipes with stretchable tubes that have different shapes on them so they can only be used in specific places.
I must admit that I was disappointed that this game didn't have that nautical theme that was such a delight in the previous investigation, but this is still a very entertaining game. The developers have obviously spent a lot of time on this game, the graphics are well done, there are plenty of active areas in each scene and it has a nice mixture of HOS and mini games, enjoy!

FRESH GAMEPLAY TAKEN TO THE NEXT LEVEL
SUMMARY: Fresh and unique HOS and mini-games with fantastic color palettes and artistry in the graphics. HOS are done in sections and mini-games have a new approach. Graphics are gorgeous and cutscenes are terrific. VERY VERY CREATIVE. Takes it to a new level. So wonderful to look at.
1. Very long HOS, with a mini-HOS (silhouette) within a HOS (list-based, interactive) and move over next to the scenes for additional close-ups of HOS. Artistically created HOS so things are easy to see (but not necessarily to find).
2. Grabbing cutscenes, and not just the opening scenes. Much thought went into doing these.
3. Even puzzles have sound effects.
4. Sometimes need to open an inventory item to get new inventory items (such as open a coin purse to get the pipe ends for a mini-games).
1. Use of animation and special effects.
2. Music is apropros for the scenes. Very lively.
3. Sound effects.
4. Four difficulties, including custom.
5. Beautiful graphics and use of color palettes.
6. Voice overs (with lip sync for those who insist on it).
7. Good ratio of mini-games and HOS.
8. Play match-3 instead of HOS.

Just like Mary Poppins; "Practically perfect in every way!"
Well, once I got over the deja vu of the blurb on the download page (a bit of editing to do there, Big Fish), I crossed my fingers, hoping it was another wonderful Eipix game and hit the trial button.
And it is! What a treat!
Again, like last week, it is not a difficult game, but it has so many layers; intergrated puzzles and mini HOSs popping up in unexpected places, pick-ups which require an extra level of interaction to obtain them, and a series of 'plus items' in the inventory which need sorting out or fixing.
The story is a murder mystery with a nautical theme which is perfectly supported by the wonderful music; sometimes jaunty and other times atmospheric. They are correct to suggest you play with sound!
Fully worthy of its CE status (IMHO) it has:
* Replay of puzzles and HOSs
* 40 chests to find in scenes which, I believe, lead to...
* Chest Hunt (in case you miss any maybe? Some are obvious, but some more hidden) to create a...
* Chest Room - locked at the moment so no idea what may lurk there for later!
* A souvenir room
* Achievements to be earned at bronze, silver and gold level which include:
~ Complete tutorial (boo!)
~ Over-clicking in HOSs (hmmm!)
~ A secret achievement!
* A jump map showing active areas and objectives, though this can be personalised in the...
* Custom Mode (yes!) There is also a choice of Casual, Expert or Insane.
HOSs are multiple level with a variety of formats in each. Lovely and clear but some searching to do.
Puzzles are fairly straightforward and really well intergrated into the gameplay.
Graphics are wonderful as ever and VOs have lip synch and facial expression.
Story line is thoroughly engaging from the start and no black/purple or indeed any hued smoke!
This is a definite buy for me. The only dilemma is can I wait for a sale at the weekend or shall I blow my credit today!

Finally a really satisfying game
I haven't reviewed in ages as there just hasn't been a game to grab and hold my attention the way this one has. The developers of this game have clearly put a lot of thought into it. The storyline is good, the graphics clear. HO scenes vary in type and objects aren't junk piled. There are collectibles - treasure chests (finding them earns gold to spend in a room at the end of the game, and it is possible to track the ones you might have missed at the end of the game) and "souvenirs" - I didn't find any of the latter until I'd finished the bonus game and investigated the extras. As well as the bonus chapter which really complements the main story, there is another "extra" bonus game unlocked by finding all the treasure chests. One of those rare games you want to keep playing. Well done Eipix!

Beautiful, Intriguing Game
Once again, Eipix has delivered! They have very quickly become one of my favorite developers. Regardless whether this is a sequel or not is immaterial it is a wonderful standalone story. A feast for the eyes in colorful graphics regardless of the dark story. Very inventive use of HOS. I will spend a happy day playing this solving the mystery and looking for loot.
Good sale Big Fish! Buy them all fishies if you haven't already!

Brilliant - Everything a CE should have.
What can I say - I really enjoyed this game.
Great graphics, cut-scenes, and voice overs.
A good variety of hidden object games, and puzzles. Puzzles were on the easy side, but the adventure side of the game made this less noticeable. In fact the only part of the game that could have improved was to give it a little more challenge.
Lots of extras. Achievements to earn, bonus objects to find, and added games at the end. There was also the opportunity to go back after the game and find the items that you missed - love it when you can do that.
Story flowed well, and actually had a plot to it - not edge of your seat, but still enough to hold your interest.
The bonus game followed on from the main story, but wasn't essential to it. Compared to the main game was slightly on the weak side.
Definitely recommend this game, and give the CE version the thumbs up due the extras.

Sea of Lies is Bloody Brilliant!
In Eipix's hidden-object adventure Sea of Lies: Nemesis, you've been called in to examine a death that the authorities have ruled "natural causes", but the victim's friend believes that the paranoia the deceased exhibited before he died might point to a more sinister truth. The adventure that unfolds is what I affectionately call cray-cray, as you deal with poisoned parakeets, murder suspects who are missing fingers, dirty double-and-triple crosses, and hysterical ladies who are oddly keen to tell their life histories and hand over valuable artifacts to strangers who show up on their property without introducing themselves. A sort of supernatural whodunnit that fans of classic murder mystery camp like Murder She Wrote will enjoy, Sea of Lies: Nemesis combines solid point-and-click gameplay with flamboyant and vibrant production for an unexpectedly enjoyable game that's a welcome respite from the darker and more serious titles. I highly recommend!!!

This was a fairly logical game, where I didn't have to refer to the strategy tips or the hints. Graphics were great as were the colours used.
Why I have titled my review as true value, is because fo the extras and extras and even more!!
Thanks for this one - greatly appreciated!!!!
