Whimsical throwback to the old turn based adventure games
With cute graphics that are a lot like the Munchkins card adventure game, this game is more whimsical than the muscular "epic" the title image of a burly warrior would imply. Calling this an adventure game, however, is a bit of a misnomer. It's not like you get to really decide how the game progresses. You don't actually choose any direction in the adventure. You basically move along a game board and you play by stocking up troops and battling baddies. The battles are fun and remind me of the old sega turn-based battle games which I enjoyed a great deal. The fun is in trying to outmaneuver the enemy. This is a buy for me.

Love the nod to tactics!
This was very reminiscent to the tactics series for me (gameboy). I loved the simple yet fun characters and environment!

Braveland The Short Story
I absolutely loved this game. There is one major con though. It is way too short. If you like games like Heroes of Might and Magic, you will enjoy this game. I am glad I used one of my freebie credits to get this game. It was quite good but alas, way short. There are mini bosses you go through to get to the end and then of course the big boss. When I purchased the game, I was expecting it to go through different lands, just like in most other games like this but alas, it only goes through 2 areas. At the end of the game, it does say, end of Book 1. So, hopefully Book 2 will be a bit longer.
Wonderful game and fun but way too short. This is my opinion of the game.

REVIEW BASED ON ONE-HOUR DEMO
Braveland is not the typical hidden object or time management game offered here at Big Fish. It is a cute, light adventure quest type game.
Your village has been plundered and you set out to recruit heroes to join your quest to defeat the bandits behind the theft. As you play, you'll increase the types of warriors in your party, acquire treasure, level up, and face increasingly difficult to defeat foes. Of course, the plot thickens, and there is more to the game than simply routing a few hungry bandits.
It's a delightful change of pace. My only concern is the length of the game. The description says 50 battles, and I flew through roughly half of them during the one hour demo. However, there are three levels of difficulty, and the harder levels present the need for different battle strategies. From that perspective, there is the opportunity for 3 distinct playthroughs.
It's a fun game to while away several hours. I will be purchasing it.

Pretty Good Little Game
This game is like a toned down version of an old classic computer game which for anyone who has played it will find the obvious connection. I'm not really sure why the reviews I've read so far have been so negative. I think it's a cute and fun strategy game and would like to see more of these offered since I've liked playing this style of game for years. The characters are cute, the dialogue is nice and if you don't want to read it you can click through it quickly. There are 3 difficulty settings. I chose the normal setting just to get a feel for the game but it's still a bit of a challenge to defeat your enemies. The easy setting will likely be good for beginners or children and there is a hard setting also. The music is nice and non-offensive. The colors are cheerful and the graphics are cute. I like the maps but it would be nice to have the option to travel to places faster, my only gripe so far being that you have to watch your character walk from place to place so going back to a store seems tedious but otherwise this game is a nice little gem and I'll probably go ahead and get it after playing the demo. A little more polish and I would have given it 5 stars but overall not a bad way to kill some time. Happy Gaming!

Fun, light-hearted game
I have quite enjoyed this game. It is fun, provides a decent level of challenge, and doesn't take itself too seriously. I've found it's enjoyable as a way to unwind after a long day. If you're not looking for a serious game, but for something to just pass the time and relax, this is the game for you.

Oh, my! The good old days of Heroes of Might and Magic
In the beginning I was a bit disappointed by the game, but then the memories of playing hours and hours of Heroes kicked in. The game is more simplistic than Heroes and probably my memories gave it more attractiveness than it actually has. Nevertheless, it is a fun game and an welcome departure from the grim HO BF is providing daily. I recommend it for those with memories of this sort of games, like me.

Something new based on old
This was a fun game - new for BFG (as far as I'm aware), but brings fond memories of Heroes of Might and Magic, as far as the battles are concerned. I would have liked a bit more flexibility with which types of soldiers and how many to purchase, and I couldn't understand why the power of the army was limited (so you can't use all the most powerful units at the same time - if you have the money, why not?), but overall, the game was enjoyable and I'm looking forward to the next game in the series (as the ending seems to imply).
