Nice farming game So this game is a nice one if you love to grow animals on a farm. The graphic is ok, nothing special, but the jungle sound and the african music is very nice instead. You have always something to do to fulfill new challenges and this might be some stress. Of course you can pause and fast forward the game (for example when the animals are sleeping) and so this is no problem at all. There is a nice comic strip story at the beginning and sometimes there are news magazines headlines which inform you what is going on. So all in all the game is worth buying if you like the challenging grow up exotic animals on a farm. July 3, 2014
It's A Zoo Around here! I'm on the fence with this game between 3-4 stars, it has huge potential and the concept is awesome. Seems Arnold has become bored with his regular farm filled with cows, pigs and chickens, so he's off to a bigger and less boring endeavor. Arnold traveled to the other side of the world (Africa?) to start a farm with exotic animals, ostrich, giraffe's, zebras, lions, monkeys, parrots, gazelles, hippos and crocodiles are replacing the country farm animals, so moo-ve over betsy! You can scan over your new farmland with the mouse in any direction giving the game a 3D effect, which also allows you to find missing animals or clean up any messes you find. The goal is fairly simple, buy an animal, keep your animals well fed and brush them after each feeding, if they become sick you need to buy appropriate medicines and administer the meds. Some of the animals produce eggs or milk that you can sell to make money and some of the animals will just get larger and will make that animal more valuable. Parrots produce valuable feathers, ostrich lay eggs, Giraffes, Zebra, and Gazelles produce milk, and hippos, crocks, monkeys, lions and elephants for example are more valuable as they get larger. The coolest feature in this game is that when you buy an animal, it has a name and you get to choose the color you want such as a blue zebra or green giraffe. There is an acceleration button which allows you to fast forward day and night which can be beneficial for getting milk and eggs faster but you will also have to keep up with the feeding demand as well. Occasionally you are given a quest for extra money such as collecting 50 eggs or building a lions den. Once you reach a certain amount of animals you will have to buy watering troughs, and in order to buy some animals you need the right enclosure, for example lions must have a den or they will escape, if you have more than three zebras, you need a zebra pen and if you buy a crocodile or hippo you need to buy a pond. If you buy a storage shed, the shopkeeper will sell you food at a lower price and you will be able to store 400 units of food instead of 200. The downside to this game is that if you purchase the wrong items at the wrong times you are left with barely enough money to simply buy food and with only a few animals to start with, the production of eggs and milk are too slow and not substantial enough to do anything other than buy more food for those hungry hippos! How can this be in new releases? Have been waiting for new TM games, but then this shows up....I bought it in 2009. Liked it fine then, but the newer TMs are much better. July 3, 2014
disappointing--with spoiler alert I love animal games. I love TM games. I love African savannah games. I was sooo excited to see this game but I didn't even finish the demo. if you speed the game up you don't get produce because it disappears before you get there, if you don't speed the game up you just sit and wait. there is no way to see what is going on at different parts of your farm and I forgot all about my hippo :( produce items are not available for a decent period of time and disappear before you get there, and they don't tell you when something off screen has produced an item so you spend money on parrots and their food and get no return unless you keep your screen on them, then the same happens with ostrich--and you don't get to pick where you put animals either. poorly designed July 3, 2014
Awkward Gameplay Based on the demo, I found this game very awkward and cumbersome to play. Buy, raise and sell produce from exotic animals. The good: there are a lot of details thrown into this game making it interesting. I love changing the color and sizes of my animals and the promise of upgrading the landscape (I, however, did not get far enough to do so). The bad: It's done in clunky, rough 3-D graphics and moving around the screen was not fun. Using the mouse scroll wheel to pan out was a good feature, but being that far out made some of the animals (the parrot especially) hard to see. There are no alerts to tell you when you have a hungry animal or a dirty one. This is a no for me. July 3, 2014
Too much lag for me. This game was definitely not for me. The controls were confusing to move around the farm to reach the other animals, the cursor lagged behind where I wanted it to be. It kept throwing out challenges with little explanation of what to do before you even completed one...and this was 5 minutes in. Just not a fan. July 3, 2014
This COULD have been an amazingly fun and exciting game..... But it needs a extensive tutorial. You start a farm with one ostrich - no instructions, just feed it. Ok. Except when I get the seeds (multiple times) it won't "set" where the pointer indicates. Then, when you try to move around, the seeds disappear. You didn't use them? So where did they go? You HAVE no apparent inventory. So, I get more and still try to feed the ostrich. After multiple tries and multiple purchasing of seeds, SUCCESS! Then, I purchase an enclosure for said ostrich. But, now it's sick. So, you have purchased medicinal seeds already (aren't I brilliant?) but again and again and again and into infinity again I try and try to "set" the seed down and it won't go anywhere and if I move, it disappears. I'm trying really hard - no instructions, no tutorial, just "do this" or your ostrich will die. I tried multiple times to feed that ostrich and it died anyway because it wouldn't eat the medicinal seeds. Your neighbor suggests "come on, you can do it, just drag the grain bag over". What grain bag? I SEE NO grain bag. EXIT before the adorable ostrich dies and I start to weep in frustration. The graphics are amazing. The animals the cutest in the world. If there had been more instruction, a tutorial, SOMETHING to help, I would have purchased it in a heartbeat. I encourage everyone to give this cute little game a try. Maybe you're smarter than me and can figure it. Please save the ostrich. Happy Gaming! July 3, 2014
Not what I expected I usually love time management, especially farming games, but this was a disappointment. It felt like there was too much work put into the 3D graphics, which didn't contribute much to the fun factor of the game, while the mechanics were very simplistic and not engaging. Maybe it'll get better as it progresses, but I wasn't interested enough to find out after a bit of play. July 4, 2014
my exotic farm this must be one of the most boring games i have played only stuck free trial for half the allotted time. totally boring and pointless game no enjoyment factor at all but soundtrack was ok DON'T BOTHER July 4, 2014
it's not nice i tried this game before and now it has come round again i tried it again, but it's so slow and sticky you can't scroll well with the mouse, at least i can;t....stopped playing after 2 mins. if the cursor doesn;t follow you around in real time how are you supposed to win a timed game?
