A Must Have Ragnar and his vikings are in need of help in this sequel. New obstacles and goals have been added. By the time that I got to Level 5 I knew I had to own this game. That is when you are underwater and the graphics are really good! I am an ocean lover so the sounds of dolphins in the background along with starfish, crabs and other creatures was enthralling. Of course you can still play timed or untimed and I would suggest untimed to people who are new to these games. You can turn off the sounds if you do not like them and if you get tired of the vikings' patter you can also turn them off. great game I have all the northern games. You can play timed or relaxed. I play them over and over. I wish they would make more of them faster. There are new things to find and different vikings to ask for help. July 30, 2014
fun time management game I enjoyed the first 3 games so I am going to buy this game. It carries on the story which is good, have got to level 6 and can,t get gold but I would recommend this game, its fun and challenging. July 30, 2014
Another great Northern Tale! Let me start by saying that I love the Northern Tale games. I replay the first three of them over and over again. In fact, I was replaying Northern Tale 3 (for the third time) when I saw that Northern Tale 4 was released. The game play is similar, with relaxed, normal, and multiclick modes. The visual quality is great, with new underwater settings for some levels. You can tell that they spent time developing the story line as well. But what I most like is how challenging it is. By the time I played Northern Tale 3, getting three stars on a level was coming quite easily to me. But on this game, getting three stars is quite a challenge, especially on some levels. A fun, challenging game! July 31, 2014
welcome back welcome back,we want more. 10q for everything July 30, 2014
The hamsters have returned The return of the hamsters, if you liked the first three games of this series, you should like this one too. Very little has changed except that the backgrounds are more detailed now. In sequel games one always fears that the developers will destroy the original concept. Not here. I still play in untimed mode and still consider the game to be great fun. It just tickles me when a window pops up to tell me that I have found the entire hamster family, or whatever. Doesn?t affect the game play, but it reminds me of the previous games. Rollo makes one appearance and most of the old villains at least have cameo roles. There are a few new twists, too. This game is just fun to play. August 1, 2014
Head north for great TM fun! I am a very big fan of this series. I have all three of the prior releases as well as the Viking Saga series as well and I love them all. This latest release is really along the same lines as the prior Northern Tales. You have the option of playing 'timed', 'multi-click' (queuing) as well as 'untimed' which really makes it good for everyone. The backgrounds are different and I find them very impressive. You have some old enemies (evil rock etc) as well as some new ones (scarecrow). There is an achievement system and a new feature added - items to collect hidden in certain levels. You have to collect enough stars to unlock the item (which will tell you what level it is located in). There isn't any MAJOR difference in this latest release aside from what I have mentioned. I do have to agree with previous viewers about the length of time it takes to load each level. I have a top-notch gaming PC and even I was a bit perturbed by the waiting for such a simple game. But that's my only real complaint. August 1, 2014
This series continues to improve This series and Viking Saga were my introduction to this type of game, and I enjoy them both. This game has absolutely raised the bar as far as graphics are concerned. In particular, the underwater episodes are gorgeous. Love the schools of fish moving around the "polyps" I recommend starting in untimed mode just to savor the visuals. Another subtle thing about this series is the interactivity of lots of the background people and creatures. Click a moose and it shakes it's head, people jump as if surprised or turn and wave, ducks flap their wings. I won't say what the starfish with eyes do, but it's hilarious, especially with the sound on. I cannot speak to the challenge of the game in timed mode as I seldom play these timed, but even untimed you will benefit from planning your approach to the challenges. My one #minor# quibble with this and the latest Viking Saga is some of the text was perhaps note proofed into English as well as it might have been. This does not cause any problems understanding what needs to be done. I don't review a lot, but had to plug this one. Couldn't be more pleased. Bought it immediately. July 31, 2014
good story i agree with other reviewers, the graphics are beautiful and the story line offers different challenges i love tm games and usually buy them if they have an untimed mode. this one does and it allows me to play the game and enjoy the antics of the characters. i particularly liked the druid riding a sting ray in the beneath the sea levels. each level has a challenge that goes beyond just building. ie, you must find a cure for Ragnars curse. lots of fun and very relaxing. who doesn't like being able to control a whole little world? the 4th Northern Tale and the Best yet !! OMG I was so happy to see that there was a number 4 and I started playing it ....the sounds from the underwater made me smile and I am not done playing it yet. Just bought the full version. So fun and if you don't know the first 3 yet....go ahead and enjoy !!! July 30, 2014
