No frills (at all), but Puzzler's Dream! I very much wish Big Fish had a discount bin. All the old-timey games that they resurrect or the "homemade" games could go in there, this included. Not bad games, just not "premium" games. Bonus: people looking for old school games would know where to go. (Hint, hint!!) I got this app for my iPhone years ago. It is the just about the only game I've ever seen that is actually best on a phone. Simple (and I mean simple) graphics, no distractions, no whiz-bang. They've added some more background and back story to try to flesh out the game for the big screen. Not a bad effort, but this bare-bones game is what it is. What it is, is a puzzler's dream. I seem to recall there being actually several hundred puzzles (from playing it on my phone). The story is sort of cute, but besides the point. This is all about puzzles. All kinds of puzzles. Every kind of puzzle. Math puzzles, logic puzzles, spatial puzzles, word puzzles, picture puzzles... While you're doing this, you're also collecting cards so you can play bonus anagram puzzles. And bits of a photograph so you can do a jigsaw. Which, it seems to me, gets you more puzzles. Your brain will be stretched six ways from Sunday! Also, I love the puzzle hint system and the scribble pad for figuring out puzzles. August 18, 2014
Better than I thought! I like this game. Some of the Eurekas are hard to find but that is the challenge. The games make you think and I like that. Tired of the same old mystery, hidden object games. Millions of them. At least this is different. August 9, 2014
not the worst, not the best I only played the demo. It's an ok game. The puzzles aren't that difficult and are mostly ones I've seen a hundred times before. The storyline isn't very interesting and the game is repetitive. Go to an area and solve a puzzle, next area and solve a puzzle, next area and solve a puzzle, and so on. It's really disappointing because I was excited to see a game that wasn't a HOG. I'm sorry but I'm so sick of HOS. Too bad this was a flop. Definitely play the demo before deciding to purchase. Don't bother. Didn't mind the game (playing it with children) but some of the puzzles are too difficult and there isn't time to collect the Eurekas. Therefore, no where to go. Kids gave up and so it just wasn't worth it. Create some better "skip" format. August 14, 2014
Had the potential to be Good Basically the same as the first review. I got to the level where you need to divide liquids equally using three containers but even the hint does not fully explain what needs to be done and I am unable to skip as the first reviewer stated so therefore purchasing it makes no sense. Correct the problem & I would reconsider. August 8, 2014
Great little game but.... Was looking forwards to playing this as like point and click adventures. The tutorial seemed to go on forever, but I hoped it would finally stop. In each scene you collect 'Eurekas' which enable you to skip a puzzle. I only saw 2 Eurekas, and you need ten to skip a puzzle. Managed the first puzzle, but the second one - could spend the rest of my life doing it without success and couldn't skip as only 2 'Eurekas'. You are chopping wood; you need 40 cuts in 45 seconds. It's nigh on impossible as each wrong cut takes away a chop. The red and green cut boxes are moving, and to hit a green is more luck than judgement. After 20 minutes of trying and never reaching more than ten I had to quit the game. I could imagine getting 39 chops and running out of time... It's not the kind of game I associate with BFGs, and was only released for the Mac. More like something you'd buy in an 'app store', then regret it as can't get passed level two! I feel that if after three failed attempts at a puzzle you should be able to skip it. Not a fun game at all! August 6, 2014
Really awful At best, clunky and amateurish. No way to control volume. Music is either on or off. You have to click directly on the dialog box, not the person, to move on. I actually reinstalled the game after waiting 30 seconds for each of several interactions in order to to get a response after multiple clicks. Tried again. Had to start over because I hadn't got to the point when you learn you have to go to a different screen to save your game. I like puzzles and games, but the few I played didn't "grab" me. I trashed the game after 17 minutes. Not sure how I lasted that long. August 7, 2014
makes me miss "King's Quest" because King's Quest moved more quickly, had a more intriguing story line, better animation, and appropriate music. this entire game plays like an early attempt to create an educational game for third-graders. August 7, 2014
Back to the drawing board with this game The preamble to this game is long winded and boring. Once it starts properly it is possible to get through the (awful) dialogue more quickly. I found all the eurekas and was managing ok until the shockingly badly designed game which involves chopping wood. This game is impossible as you cannot judge when to chop and every wrong chop gets a negative mark. To add insult to injury it cannot be skipped. I gave up here and deleted the game. I cannot remember ever being so annoyed with a game. Not impressed. August 9, 2014
