Weather Lord: In Pursuit of the Shaman
Does not beat out the first Weather Lord game - it's ok
I love the first Weather Lord - in fact, I revived it on my pc and played it last week again for probably the 5th time. I was so excited to see this one come out yesterday but played the demo first, learning never to assume a game is as good as you want it to be and buy it blindly. And I was right to do so. This one just didn't capture me like the first has done many times over. Game play and concepts are exactly the same as the first with only trivial minor changes. The new characters are distracting in this one and the game play seems to be slower. The story line wasn't as interesting either. Overall, it's an okay game, but if you've played and loved the first, I can't imagine how you could find this one as good. I'm not buying it since it didn't hook me in the demo, but it's a good enough game that someone else might like it to buy it.

Loved game until the Crash
This is a great game and I had a great time playing it--until the game keep crashing halfway through. Come to find out that almost everyone had the same issue. Waiting for developers to fix it, but there does not seem to be a hurry. I would avoid this until they get a patch out.

I really enjoyed Weather Lord Hidden Realms and gave it five stars so I thought this would be as good if not better. It isn't. The graphics are different due to different artists. They're OK but not as crisp or interesting as I had hoped. The storyline is more intricate than it needs to be and gets confusing. I shut off the music and sound effects. They were annoying and distracting. The basic game play allows for multi-clicking, building, and gathering resources. Standard for this type of game. The worst part of this game are the glitches. A new build did not correct the errors. According to the forums, the only way to get gold is to guess at what the developers originally mapped out. Not fun. Players should be able to use different strategies and still get gold. I had very high hopes for this game because the last Weather Lord was so excellent. Disappointed.

too hard to make gold
Time is too short to make gold on each level.

So much to do, so little time.
This game is very strict when it comes to time. It's nearly impossible to finish with gold time no matter how quick you are. I'm honestly not sure how the creators of this game expect you to enjoy it when you're constantly trying not to fail. Also, you can't adjust the difficulty level. The fact that you get no tutorial means you will fail several times just because the basic mechanics aren't explained. The graphics and music are good, but nothing impressive. The story is weird too in that there are both humans and anthropomorphic animals in the opening cut scene. I didn't see any humans in the actual game play, but it's still weird. This game has excellent challenge value, but for all the wrong reasons. Do not play unless you're a masochist.

Boring and Repetitive
This game starts out okay and that's why I purchased it.
But after a while, everything you do is just the same, over and over.
I don't really enjoy building games where you have to simultaneously fight off monsters. That is just not fun, in my book.
The time also runs out very quickly, so getting gold seems impossible. If I'm going to devote a lot of time to improving my performance and scoring higher, it's got to be something that holds my interest.
This one doesn't.

Having a time management game that punishes you for not knowing the exact order you need to complete the tasks while not telling you what that order is is an unforgivable sin.

Couldn't Even Get Going With This One!
I am not usually interested in builder type games and now I know why. Although Weatherlord In Pursuit of the Shaman has very good graphics and sound it is woefully short on instructions. After about five minutes of trying to figure out what to do and how to make my helpers actually perform the assigned tasks I gave up. If a developer wants to hold my interest in a game of this type, they should include a tutorial on how to navigate and how to perform the assigned tasks.
When I went through the opening scenes of the game, I thought Weatherlord In Pursuit of the Shaman was one builder game I might actually like so it was a huge disappointment to me that I couldn?t get going. There is no way I would purchase this game and I don?t recommend it, certainly not to anyone who might be a novice with the genre. All I can say is that Weatherlord is a big thumbs down from me.
