The best Solitaire game ever :D
Fairway Solitaire is a charming and funny take on Solitaire.
The game is presented as a golf tournament with the solitaire games substituting for golf. One of my favourite elements is the humorous sports commentary which never happens so often as to get annoying but really adds to the experience.
The game keeps to the golf theme all the way through using terms such as birdie and par to express how well you have done and also to set up challenges to unlock the next course (for example being under par for the whole course). Every so often you may find a golf club with a number on it that you can keep and use to substitute for a card when needed. Keep getting enough cards in a row and you have a streak and bonus points. There is also a chance to win more or lose with mini games that crop up when a special challenge card is found.
As you progress through the tournament you get new courses and elements such as water or sand to deal with. Also you can use your winnings to buy clothes which offer bonuses.
The cartoon drawing style suits the game perfectly, and even things like the humorous people on the picture cards are perfect for the game.
All these elements and the general golf theme are so well thought out and carried through that it's a delight to play, and easy to end up playing longer than you intended!
The game gets more challenging as you progress so the bonuses are never overpowered and the game never becomes too easy and therefore boring.
It's hard to explain just how much fun this is, so go download the demo :P

One of the best Solitare games ever!
I have had so much fun with this game.
At times I have even forgot it wasn't real golf I was playing!
Just to get under par and get on to the next game has been so refreshing and different from all the rest of solitare games.
Well done!

Golf game for golfers
I love this card game and enjoy replaying it, especially as it works fine on my Samsung N10 netbook,
The tutorial is helpful if you have never played Golf patience (solitaire). The cartoon graphics are fun and there is a humerous commentary by a well known US tv golf pundit, although you may want to turn him off if you play for a long time as it gets a bit repetitive. You win money by removing cards from a large variety of layouts with bonuses for getting long runs of cards or clearing all the cards. You can also play two minigames to earn more money. There are 9 or 18 layouts for each course which get increasingly difficult but you can use your winnings to buy clothing for your avatar that helps you. You earn various trophies as you progress through the game which takes a long time to complete.

Still Playing, Months Later
I can't even tell you how long I've had this game on my computer. I downloaded it months ago and still continue to play it (even now that the sequel has been released). Normally I play a game and then remove it from my computer but this one has survived. It's super fun, although sometimes the "announcers" can be a bit annoying. Just like real life, huh?

Fun Golf Card Game
Plus = I had heard so much about this game that I was pleased to pick it up on sale. The game is addictive fun! Many different courses to play. You must get par on a course to advance to the next course. It was easy to learn how to play, and I really like the snarky humor of the golf "commentators".
Minus = I have not been able to play the last levels, I have been replaying and replaying, but can't get par to advance!

Really fun combination of solitaire and golf!
I know nothing about golf, but I've played solitaire games for years and eventually find them boring and frustrating when I cannot win. But Fairway Solitaire is the most fun one I've played so far. Combining it with golf takes away the boredom for me of simply matching sequential cards. There is some strategy involved in choosing which card to play, just like in regular solitaire, and I'm even learning a little about golf!
Cartoonish graphics are perfect and I love the crowd sounds and the announcers' dialogue! Taking too long to play a card apparently triggers them to make funny remarks, like "I think there's a problem here, I'm not sure what they're doing!" Hilarious! But the dialogue does start repeating after awhile and you can always turn the sound down.
Nice relaxed play and enough difficulty to please even expert gamers IMO. I haven't gotten through all the courses yet and I've read on the BFG forums that the game gets harder as you go along and that some of the levels are difficult and take a long time to play through to get to the next course. But that's fine with me. That's the purpose of a game, after all, and this one should keep me busy for awhile!
If you like golf and solitaire, you'll probably like this game. A definite win-win for me!

Fun but hard
Wife loves this game. She hates golf and is so-so on solitaire. So that says something for the overall package here, it is all done in a way that is funny and keeps you playing. I will echo other reviewers though, she could not finish the game. Claims it is too hard at late levels to advance. So I gave it 5 stars for challenge but it may be a case where it swings a little too far that way, at least for a casual game. Regardless, good value here she has played many many hours and is about to start in on the sequel.

Drains the life from me...
Slowly but surely I am loosing my whole life to this game. Every night I switch on the music, turn it up loud and play this game. I've completed the game multiple times over but because it is a card game, it's almost impossible that you will ever play the 'same' cards twice therefore every game is different.
Some of the levels are insanely hard, even for someone who has wasted half there life for quite a few years on this game, so don't worry if you just started playing it.
Beware though, this game is a total time sucker!

Most FANTASTIC solitaire game we have played!
This is one of the best games ever! We have played it over & over and it is still a challenge since it is random play. The cartoon graphics are hilarious and the commentators voices are not annoying while being a bit fun & snarky at times. There are different "helps" you can purchase with your winnings to make it easier to achieve the high scores to advance in the game. You can also remove the "helps" to make it more of a challenge. A score card keeps track of your winnings and achievements. This is a must try and then must buy game!

One of my favorites
This is a deceptively simple card simple card game that at some points had me totally frustrated, but kept me coming back for more.
The graphics are clear, the voiceovers are hysterical, the many levels will keep you entertained for weeks if not more. In addition there are powerups to purchase with your winnings, trophies to earn and the random Wild Shots where you take your chances and maybe earn a great prize.
This is a game by which other solitaires are judged.
