The hardest game I have played since "Ghost In the Sheet"
I realize this is an old series, but wow was this a tough game to master. Clearly the hardest hidden object puzzles ever, for me that is. I enjoyed the first one. This is a very deep game. There is no jump map, and you will have to purchase the guide I believe. I finally did use an online printed walk through twice, I was stumped. This was a real blast, and clearly not like the "new" simpler hidden object puzzles available today. To be clear, many of the new games offer strong challenge too, but the hidden object parts do not compare to this game. The challenge is EPIC. Take notes, and if you walk away for a day or two, "you is out-a luck".
You will not be disappointed with this one. You may not like the graphics, but that is all part of this crazy game with a bazillion locations to remember. Put on your thinking caps and hang on for one heck of a ride.

Great, but having save issues
Return to Ravenhearst is definitely creepy, in a good way! I'll admit I jumped a few times although I have only played half of the game. Unfortunately, this game does have saving issues and what's even worse is that it deleted my save file on it's own! I was just about to do something important in the game when I had to do something even more important in real life so I clicked menu and exited the game. Upon my return I found that my save had been deleted. I was pretty upset but if you're lucky it won't happen to you. I would recommend this game if you want to chance your save being lost.

Entertainment and a brain engager
I loved MCF Ravenhearst and this one is even better. The puzzles are challenging and the graphics are great. The storyline is ok, but I don't play these games for the storyline anyway. If you want a thinker's game, then I recommend this one in a heartbeat.

Fun, Challenging, Waiting for the Next
Love this game. It takes hidden object games to another level by including more challenging puzzles (which you can choose to pass for a 30-min penalty) in a greater frequency than "Escape from Ravenhearst". Your character does more of a walk-through (like an actual game, rather than the common hidden object), and it is very interactive. The graphics of the locations are clean, and there are enough that you won't tire of seeing the same place over and over too quickly.
I'm not the best reviewer, but this is the third MCF game that I have purchased, and being that I LOVE hidden object and puzzle games, this one is BY FAR the best, especially if you're looking for a challenge.

Game Changer
This was the first Hidden Object Adventure Game I ever played and now, 3 years later, I'm absolutely hooked on them. At the time of its release, it changed the concept of hidden object games from just searching piles of junk to a truly challenging, adventurous puzzle. Perhaps after 3 years, it's not the best game anymore, but if anyone wants to experience the game that changed it all, this is a must.

This is my gold standard for all computer games
I rate every game I buy from BFG against MCF:RTR. When I first played it three years ago this Thanksgiving, I was absolutely blown away. Everything was just right in this game -- ambience, storyline, puzzles, graphics. I sort of feel sometimes like I have to "put up" with the HO scenes to play these puzzle/adventure/mystery games I love so much; but, I remember the HO scenes in this one as being top notch. Truly, it's hard to go wrong with a game from the MCF series -- and RTR is, perhaps, the best one yet. What a wonderful game, BFG! Thank you for creating it. Now, how about another Ravenhearst sequel? Pretty please?

HOPA, Heavy on the Hidden Objects!
Review of entire game, NOT the demo!
This game is the sequel to Ravenhearst as most people know. I honestly want to know what the attraction is to these first two games in the Ravenhearst series. They are not as great as the rave reviews state. I am hoping the third installment improves greatly as so far I am not impressed.
This installment is a Hidden Object Puzzle Adventure game with the majority of the emphasis on Hidden Object scenes that are blurry and cluttered junk piles. I seriously do not like Hidden Object scenes where items to find are A.) defying gravity (a doughnut floating in the sky, really??) and are B.) historically inaccurate.
The puzzles were not very challenging either. In honesty, the main challenge was trying to find the Hidden Objects but that was due to eye strain with the graphics.
The hint did not really help to much and when you utilize it or a mini game skip it tacks on 30 minutes to your cumulative game play time as if to punish you. The game only took me 3 hours to complete (I timed myself with my iPhone) but my total game play time upon completion was nearly 10 hours! On top of the hint/skip use penalty the time to charge between uses was insanely long.
Overall, I do not recommend this game unless you like Hidden Objects with a passion and even then I'd wait until the game is on a Daily Deal.

still one of the best adventure games
I remember playing this game some time ago and I returned to it recently. It's amazing that it is still one of the best games around. Splendid puzzles, good hidden object scenes but most of all an interesting story and consistent world that makes me return to Ravenhearst :)
I recommend this game with all my heart.

No comparison
MCF has continued to produce visually stunning and mentally compelling games, and this is no exception. No other games have compared to the quality of the MCF series..don't just buy this one, buy them all.
