Good Old Fashioned Adventure Game Enjoyed the inventory based point and click game. Smart dialogue that sometimes was a bit long but you could read and click thru. Enjoyed the part where Petra was able to use spells to progress. Storyline was cute but then again I am a big Wizard of Oz fan. If you like Hidden Object Games, I would think this game is not for you. If you like games from days gone by, then play it! December 1, 2013
VERY LENGTHY ADVENTURE WITH A MAJOR GLITCH Polished adventure game of about 8 hours. Story takes place about 40 years after Dorothy Gale takes her famous trip to the land of Oz. Things have certainly changed over the years. For one thing, everything seems green to some degree. You play as Petra, a no-nonsense, determined ex-military investigator who sometimes just can?t get a break. Meet a cast of interesting characters, including the characters from OZ with whom you are already familiar. You pick up items here and there and use them to solve very clever puzzles. To travel, you go to the nearest Gump stand to be transported to your destination by the flying creatures. You are given a series of quests to solve and keep track of them in your journal. If you can?t figure out how to proceed in a quest, you can get progressively more helpful hints. There is a lot of dialogue and the voice acting is superb (for the most part, at least) and you need to pay attention to get the backstory and plot. Since the dialogue doesn?t always repeat, you might miss an important fact if you click too quickly. Magic has been banned in OZ, but you will learn a few spells to help in your quests. Well-animated graphics. One problem I encountered was the game FROZE when Petra was leaving a stadium to arrange another ?fight? using the banned magic. Looking at the forum, it seems to be a fairly COMMON PROBLEM and the developer should have found and distributed a fix by now. So, I just start over ? at least it holds my interest again. But I did deduct 1 star for this major glitch. June 17, 2013
Wonderful story... but slow gameplay Let's be honest... this IS a wonderful story; playing the game is like reading a book... and it HAS this noirish detective novel atmosphere, the same I found in the Discworld game. But ECC has one major flaw: there are way too much dialogues. All you do throughout the game is talk, talk, talk... asking and answering questions... and in between, you get some things to do. In fact, there is very little action and this saps a lot of the fun from this game. Anyway, I played the game twice, but there will be no more next time. On the other hand, I WOULD like to have a sequel, especially if the dev's come up with another good story AND if they let the gamer do more things instead of being a mere spectator. August 9, 2012
BORING i found this game boring...asking questions was so redundant...very few choices as to movement July 10, 2012
