The Very Best!
This was the first of the Dream Chronicles series I played and once I did, I was hooked! I couldn't wait to purchase the others as they became available. This is a very unique game. Very beautiful graphics and music. Not dark like a lot of games. At times you will need the walkthrough, especially in maze sections, but it was by far one of the most enjoyable games I've ever played! Everyone should play this series.

A gamers game
This is my first review, until now I never felt the need to say anything, but this game is special.
If you play it , and you should, be prepared to have to think thoughout the entire game. Hints are minimal, skip is non existant and it will make you work for every advancement.
Not for the novice, but a completely satisfiying and frustrating game.

How does this have such high ratings?
I played the entire trial time, and I cannot figure out how this game has such high ratings. The artwork is nice enough, but game play is not great. There is no hint, so if you're stuck, you'll need a walkthrough (which I really dislike - I don't want to stop playing in the middle of a game to look up my next step). I found myself wishing I had a magnifying glass several times, because objects can be so small and blended into the background. The most annoying part of the game, though, was the transitioning between scenes. The game felt like it was constantly stopping to animate some new find or event. Or to darken everything but one item you needed and give you a wall of text about it. Hint to game developers: Just because you CAN animate something, doesn't mean you need to. Second most annoying award goes to the fact that, if you have several of the same objects in you inventory that go in the same spot, you have to place them individually instead of the entire group going at once (or even staying in your hand to halve the amount of clicking necessary). Objects you may need multiple times (like the ladle in the kitchen) go back to where you found them each time you use them, too.
The story seemed decent, but the annoyances added up so quickly that I really didn't even want to finish the trial version. I might play the game if it was free, but there are so many better options that I'd never pay for it.

A genuine gem; one of my all time favourites, ever since Myst
What a shame that this superb game only has 6 reviews to praise its merits... and merits, it has: Beautiful Myst-lilke graphics, an enchanting storyline, good puzzles and just the right amount of HOS, good length...
I adored wandering around in the scenes of Dream Chronicles, eager to discover more and more, and I didn't want the game to end.
Luckily, there are a number of sequels - which, although being very good, do not always match up to this first.
But you always can play The Chosen Child over and over again, without getting tired of it.

Challenging mazes which I enjoyed, great hidden objects.
I enjoyed the mazes most, more challenging than Eternal maze

DC (Chosen Child) a winner!
My quick review- Loved this game, plenty of back and fourth puzzles to solve in different locations. I was not a fan of DC (Water) gameplay or its visuals but this series was easy on the eyes as it was not so monotone. Give the demo a try!

I'm In Love!!!
This is the best series I have played since I completed the Drawn series! Total fun for me, not having much in the way of hints so having to get those brain cells in gear and put them to work! The graphics are amazing, enchanting, and adorable! I am waiting on my new computer to be able to play the next 2 games of this delightful experience. I have seen some reviews say this is not a true HOG but, in my oh so humble opinion, it is truer than any other HOG because you literally have to hunt for just about everything in this game, and that makes it a truly hidden object genre! That is so much more fun than just picking items out of one screen shot, here and there throughout the game. I enjoy those kind too, but this series is exceptionally and exquisitely beautiful in it's entirety! I HIGHLY recommend it for sure!!! But only if you like to have to think on your own!

Really enjoyed this
I'm an adventure person and not really big into HOG. This was a good game. Kept my attention. The graphics were great. Sometimes the mazes were a little frustrating but that was my fault for not "mapping" the various exits and links. I would recommend this. Short - played in an afternoon - but worthwhile.
