Too short
Its fast paced and fun. The idea of building a house is different. but its just too short. I was hoping for more level. Doesn't feel like its worth the value.

Very, very fun!
I found this game to be extremely fast paced from the start, which I really liked (no sitting around twiddling your fingers waiting for customers) and I also thought it was really fun.
The graphics where trying a bit too hard to be realistic but still great. The game play was smooth and it was very easy to get the hang of things. The right click delivery system was the thing that made this game stand out as it made it seamless to play and I really loved that.
I would rather there be slightly harder levels towards the end as once I had gotten the hang of everything I was able to sail through the faster paced levels but it was still a really great game!

More relaxed than Cake Shop 3
This game was fun, it wasn't super fast paced and it wasn't frustrating or super challenging. It had some cool features, like building a home for the manager, the star rank and statistics scroll was bland and generic looking, the sound was kind of bump sorta hop beat, and the graphics were OK! I did find when playing the trial version that around the 12th or 18th day of business I found a system that made things abit easier, I was able to put a new glass for refill as I took the full one and to put the items with longer processing times first before items with shorter processing times, etc. Having the ability to set a cake down somewhere helped to. It seems their was a 1/2 second allowance to do this as well, but remembering to do these things is the key, with of course TIME!!) Things were much easier once I had that down. I would recommend this game as a sort of starter intro into time management games, because it wasn't as fast paced as a lot of these game types are. I have played several restaurant time managment games and I was able to at least get a process down off this one. I would start with this game and then continue progress with the rest of the series..Which cake shop 3 is the bomb !!!!!

Good for first timers
I liked the game. It was much too short for me, though. I finished it in just a couple of hours.
All in all, it wasn't too bad. Good game for beginners.

Not For Me!
The game was ok, but I don't think it's for me.
Nothing was really stood out enought to be classified as good.
OK Parts:
The game started off fun, but got boring
Bad Parts:
Below-average graphics. Completely out dated. Did not feel like I was playing a modern game.
The game was way too easy for my liking.
A below-average storyline as well. No voice-overs and I just felt the plot really fell flat.
I really don't think you wil like this game. I came here as a fan of Burger Shop bt was really disappointed.

Easy, cute game
As counter-cafe games go, this is an easy and short game. If you like this kind of thing (I do), then you'll enjoy Cake Shop. However, if you need something more of a challenge, you should look at something like the Stand o' Food series. I had no problem at all getting gold on each level without hardly trying.
The graphics are good and the sounds are all right (although I always turn off the music and listen to my own). There's no storyline to speak of, and your reward is building a house part by part, which I think was unnecessary because you don't even get to pick what things look like.
I purchased it and had no regrets, except that I wish it were longer.
