Excellent This game was a lot of fun and challenging. It was cleverly written. August 19, 2012
Refreshing! When this 1st came out, I read the intro, and was underwhelmed. Then, a couple of months ago, I was able to beta test the sequal, and was hooked, so I snatched this up, and It's a blast. As a FORMER MCF addict, I have purchased MANY, MANY games from this site (H.O# and this was very refreshing, lite hearted #as lite as murder can get, LOL!#, and never TOO DARK / grisley! #Sorry MCF fans) I keep finding myself playing it over, and over, and now I watch the show re-runs too! Too much fun! August 10, 2012
Fun to play but too easy This is a truly HOG game. I thought it was quite easy to find all the items but still was fun to play. August 8, 2012
amazing I loves this game...this is how a hidden object should be. I want more!!! July 5, 2012
so-so game Being a fan of the TV series and being on sale, I couldn't resist getting this one, plus it had a near 5 star rating. But I have to say it's not really on par with other HOGs I've played, like the MCF series, Sherlock Holmes Hound of the Baskervilles, Poe's premature burial etc. Granted, for players who like something a bit lighter with no supernatural themes, this is a fun game and also maybe for the younger players, but I didn't think it was too challenging or interesting. I liked the concept of the five seperate books or murder cases, because it was like having five games in one, but they were pretty much alike. Each story had only about four or five HOS, which you had to revisit time after time after time, which became a bit tedious after a while, although some objects were moved around, i.e. a cup might be on the table one time and on the floor the next. The typewriter keys were a novel touch, but since you didn't really need them to complete the HOS, I didn't see the point. Most words you can figure out without having the vowels in them. The graphics were okay, but the animation of the characters was sadly lacking and unimaginative, although they did bear a good likeness to the TV actors. Final verdict - A nice game for the beginner, but not very challenging for the hard-core HOG players. I'm glad I didn't pay full price for this one and I must have a higher standards than all the other players who gave this five stars. January 31, 2012
two thumbs up This is a fabulous game thus far. ( I am currently on book 3) It consists of 5 "chapters" or "books" in which you can play in relaxed or timed mode. The story line is easy to follow and the interaction if wonderful as you tag along on Jessica's various exploits. I thoroughly enjoyed the relaxed mode. The graphics are fairly basic but still enjoyable along with the ever familiar Murder She Wrote theme music. It is not one of those full priced quick play in one hour type of games. A definite plus to add to any game collection. I give 5 stars and recommendation. November 25, 2012
great fun An excellent series of games in one package. Can get a bit repetative and some of the picture puzzles are annoying when they dont match up. October 15, 2012
Be an amateur sleuth? If you are familiar with Angela Lansbury and the TV series, this game is fun the nostalgia factor alone. Solve mysteries along with Jessica Fletcher and the towns folk of Cabot Cove, Maine. Each mystery "book" takes place in several locations, but they are more H0G than adventure where game play is concerned. My one complaint is the format was repetitive. I recommend taking a break from the game between books. January 26, 2012
Lots of Problems that ruined the fun I could have liked this game...except it kept freezing or losing my place. I played three times and each time I got stuck. Seriously. I finished finding everything in a scene and a search item (that I already found) remained on the list. Nothing would make it go away. Hints didn't work. This happened three times in three places. Beyond that, often when I saved my progress, meaning to return later, I would end up in a different place. Often I had to repeat scenes I had already done. The game was fun till this started happening. There were no hints available online anywhere - but there were a few people in various game sites who appeared to be having the same problem. I refuse to buy a walkthrough cause this game is pretty simple. Wiping it out of my computer. Seven bucks wasted. August 1, 2012
Murder she wrote Oh my hat....no....after playing so many HO games this was the worst. Graphics pathetic and Jessicas voice irritated me so much I just had to turn off the sound. Just couldnt handle the way the characters moved on the screen...total waste of money. Must just add i also bought Return to Cavot Cove and it was measurably better... January 24, 2013
