Mystery Case Files - Dire Grove I tried the teaser and really enjoyed it, then bought the game, but was very disappointed - I have managed to get to page 8 and have been pulling my hair out since - no matter what I do there there seems to be no more clues - I am stuck in the office trying to work out the safe combination - any clues!!! unless I can open it I am going nowhere. Challenging and fun I played this without using a help guide, and it kept me thinking. There are no hints with the story (just the HO scenes) and only some of the puzzles allow skips. "Found" footage keeps the story rolling along, and the actors are on point. I like that the clues were not that obvious -- a wonderful challenge! June 20, 2012
The game I measure all others by I played this quite sometime ago so this is a delayed review. It is the best game I have played in recent years and it is the benchmark I use to compare all other games I download and play. To date nothing has come close! Great story that keeps you stuck to your pc. The whole look and feel of the game is brilliant. And having real actors, a good plot that makes you feel like you are in a movie makes the whole experience so much better. Developers - more games like this please!! April 21, 2012
Snowy British Countryside I loved the graphics and scenery in this game. It's one of the qualities that draw me into the game, along with the story. The story was good. I had to consult the walkthrough a couple of times. Got stumped quite a bit, but if you're patient it isn't hard to figure out the puzzles. December 10, 2011
Excellent Game I bought the collectors edition of this game, brilliant, Excellent stroy & Graphics. I can be quite a challenge at times, which is what makes it so good. I played this game with my friend and we both thought it was fantastic. Would highly reccomend this game to all adventure fans. December 2, 2011
One of my favorite games in the MCF series Plus = I enjoyed this game so much I have replayed it several times, and I usually do not replay games. I liked it so much I have recently upgraded to the CE. Minus = When I bought this game, I did not realize that the morphing objects were only in the CE version. The morphing objects and additional game play really make the CE better than the Standard edition game (in my opinion). This is one of the few games that I would recommend purchasing the CE version instead of the SE because of the additional content and activities. November 27, 2011
Love all MCF games I bought this game " Collectors" edition when it first came out. I absolutley love it! I must have played it about 10 times now. Graffics are stunning, story line amazing and puzzles excellent- what more can one say apart from, more please!!!!! November 27, 2011
two2two2 I realy loved this game the challenge was very intense and it demanded a whole lot of attention , I realy enjoy this level of search and research in a game . Keep making them and I certainly will keep on buying them. November 15, 2011
Horrible Hints I agree with others comments about the wonderful graphics & story, but without proper hints & instructions, one is forced to always close the game and go to another website for walkthroughs. I was at the end of my rope. Seriously, I was. - The puzzles give NO instructions. - Tiny HOS items to find & random clicking is NOT allowed, as the screen will freeze on the 4th click. If you can't see the item, random clicking is necessary. - You're forced to watch all the tapes if you want hints. Very time consuming, especially if you wish to replay the game. Since I don't, I always had to close the game & refer to the walkthroughs. - Towards the end of the game, if you missed picking up anything earlier on, your out of luck. No maps, hints or help. Close the game and spend more time searching the walkthroughs. - The end needs a ladder, without proper hints, you will go crazy trying to figure out what to do next. Back to the walkthroughs. - The very end is so time consuming & frustrating..... arrrrr!!! No skip button!!! No wonder this game seems so long. You have to keep searching the walkthroughs to see what you have missed. Absolutely frustrating to say the least. Especially if you put the game on hold and get back to it later. Without proper hints, this game is a real work out. Sorry I bought it. June 5, 2012
Challenging and fun MCF: Dire Grove is one of the better HOGs I've played in quite some time. The story is very interesting, the graphics and sound are great, and the HOS are done well, with a moderate level of challenge. Some of the puzzles, however, are quite challenging and I did have to consult the helpful walk-through to solve them since I'd rather solve than skip puzzles when I can. I tried several other of the MCF games, and Dire Grove and Ravenhearst are the best, in my opinion. January 10, 2012
