One of my top 5 games
The MCF series is without a doubt, my favorite IHOG games- Dire Grove being bested only by 13th Skull. The scenary and graphic is gorgeous, and they use a combination of live action with cg to animate mini-cut scenes of people. Very cool!

Fun Game to Pass the Time
Well with the $$$ I paid for it. Dire Grove provided a few hours of fun during my down time. If I could change anything, I would make it harder. For the most part, this was exactly what I was looking for and would recommend to anyone.

Addictive, Short, Good Visuals
This game is pretty addictive. I worked through it in about five hours. Once you get started it's hard to pull yourself away. It's mostly picture search which, surprisingly, is more fun than it sounds. The puzzles are decent but not very challenging. The atmosphere, however, is fantastic. You really start to feel the cold, oppressive winter conditions. I must add that the main actress in the video scenes is absolutely gorgeous. If you like this, try a great old game (from the '90s) called The 7th Guest. It's all puzzles but it also has a great creepy atmosphere and investigative plot. Anyway, the greatest Dire Grove mystery at all is "What were the snowshoes for?"

Not as good as I expected
I am a little disappointed with this one, particularly because it was so highly recommended. I don't know if it was just me, but personally I didn't find it all that exciting. It delivered in the graphics department and incorporated some nice details with the video visuals. As far as the environments, Dire Grove could have been way better. The scenes weren't all that detailed like some of the other MCF ones. Puzzles were not so much hard, as it was hard remembering what you need to solve it! It was a little annoying having to back track what you found previously just to solve a puzzle. I would still recommend trying this game because I love MCF so much.

Really Cool
Wow. Just finished playing this game and I'm impressed. The story line is superb, the real actors can actually act and the graphics are amazing. Not only is this game enjoyable, but is easily solvable with some thought and imagination. I haven't enjoyed a game this much in quite a while. The only negative about this game (and this is being picky) is that some of the HOGS have you searching for the same objects more than once in identical scenes. But really, it won't bother you because you will be too immersed in the story. Truly fun.

Lots of back tracking
I play in the middle of the night, so I do not have the sound turned on. Could not get through it with out checking the walk through a lot. The hints are bad. Maybe it's a better game with sound on, but without, it is just frustrating. You back track a bunch.

One of the best adventure games ever!
There's not much more to add to the rave reviews this game has already earned. It has everything I look for in a great game...immersive storyline, detailed graphics, moody soundtrack and the ability to wander about on my own without too much unsolicited help but knowing it's there when I need it. This is the first game I played where a spooky story takes place in the winter with the blowing snow all around me and it put me right into the center of it all. The challenging puzzles and hidden object scenes were just the right amount too...not too much nor too little and everything was balanced in such an excellent way that I really cannot find fault with any aspect of this game. I only had to consult the walkthrough once towards the end when I couldn't figure out what to do with the thermometer but the effective hint system provided all the other help I needed during the game. It may be an older game but it's been on the all-time bestseller list since its release and is consistantly on the top 100 list each time a sale is offered. It was even offered for $2.99 during the weekly sale and still stayed in the top 100. That can't be said for many other games and shows it's still got the legs to keep it on the list. Demo the game first if you don't believe me and then decide if you want to buy. You can always wait for the next half off sale. Whatever the price, you'll get a long game with a story that wraps up nicely in the end and will leave you feeling very satisfied.

Best Game Ever
I've played many games, and this is the one I play again and again! The music is top notch, the ambience and sound effects mesmerizing. There may be games with better graphics, but I have yet to find a game as continually satisfying as this one. Love the abundance of HOS scenes; not too many annoying puzzles. ( I do believe I have heard some of the soundtrack on The Young & the Restless.) Good ending, too.

Without Equal
This game is outstanding. I do not believe you will ever find a game like it. The graphics and sound are amazing, the story is gripping and the puzzles are interesting, challenging and different. An absolute gift to gamers every where!!!
