HAD TO SKIP MINI-GAMES While the storyline is very good, I have to admit that I found the mini-games (tanagrams, especially and tracks) to be EXTREMELY frustrating. While you can pick up and rotate the tanagram pieces, you CANNOT pick up and REMOVE said pieces back to the pile AND you were provided with an EXTREMELY limited amount of pieces at a time so when you see a piece that you KNOW will fit an area better (wasn't in the pile earlier) you CAN"T replace an already placed tile with another. In addition to that, because you KNOW you've got 1 misplaced tile but only have a few tiles to work with (which you CANNOT place until the next proper one is placed) and because you CAN'T replace the proper tile in a place that's already occupied, you become STUCK. I REALLY like tanagrams but only if you can either set a tile on an already placed one to remove it or just be able to remove the placed tile back to the pile. I also had a problem with the train tracks due to the fact that I could only seem to place tracks to dead ends; since completing this game, I looked at the walkthrough and apparently THAT'S EXACTLY what a player is supposed to do and THEN switch the tracks again to allow the train to properly exit. HUH??? Why in the world would a person think to "dead-end" oneself before resetting towards the proper exit? Anyway, I DID like this game but REALLY HATED to having to skip almost all of the mini-games. August 29, 2012
Great Potential but too many distractions For $2.99 it was a fun and interesting game but it left me both annoyed and wanting more depth of story. If you can get it for $2.99, then it?s an okay game. For full price, I would pass. It had a decent length and there were lots of puzzle, maybe at times it seems as if there are too many. There was a lot of collect objects to assemble a larger object but the smaller pieces weren't necessary parts of the larger object and not even directly related objects all the time. The storyline had great potential except for the bizarre stuffed teddy bear helper, Jovie. I had to turn off the sound when he spoke. You can't click forward through the dialog you have to wait until it is all read or skip the story entirely. Jovie was totally unnecessary and detracted from what could have been a good game and story. It almost seemed like this was a mash up of two different games. I would have loved to have more detail on the Order and the Destroyer but it was constantly interrupted by the irritating Jovie character. September 4, 2012
okay for 2.99 nice easy game with good graphics for a day when you want to play but not overtax your brain. puzzles are fun if a bit easy. hidden objects are fun to look for. not a puzzle for the expert but fine for me on an off day. August 29, 2012
Not a good game for those with vision problems I wanted to like this game, the pictures of the graphics, and the little I played made me want to play more, but so many of the items, the game instructions, so much of everything was very small, that I had to strain my eyes and use my magnifying glass almost constantly. I am disappointed, it seemed a nicely done game and story, the other reviews were pretty good, but I am glad, I decided to play the demo before buying it even on sale. Hopefully the developers have done some better games since, they first released this one. As the other reviews said, a better game for younger, less challenged eye sight. August 29, 2012
Not worth even $2.99 Too much talking and a really dumb bear-like animal. Mini games do not work well. Nothing that made me want to continue playing after the demo ( in fact I didn't even finish the demo!) August 29, 2012
Maybe for novice HOG lovers There are a lot of games out there where you step through portals and are transported into a new world. This game falls deep in their shadows. I have Otherworld: Spring of Shadows and was expecting a storyline and gameplay along that line. Story is ho-hum, done numerous times but better. Artwork is okay. HOS and dialogue were uninspiring. It's not a bad game. Novices might like it as the searches and puzzles are not difficult, which is why I'm giving it a recommendation. But I don't recommend it for avid HOG players - you will find no challenge and you are pretty much led through the baby steps. Checking widescreen and full screen modes give you a little screen more suited to a tablet. Unchecking widescreen helped make the screen larger. August 29, 2012
