Penny Dreadfuls? Sweeney Todd 4 5 27 27
Replayable. Always a challenge. I keep waiting for more Penny Dreadful games, because this one is so very good, The HOS segments are creepy but you can identify the objects and you don't need a magnifying glass. The story is classic, but the inspector (horrid little man) leads you through the story from a quite different angle. There is a map, which is a great assist in helping you through the story. The locations are all rich and complex and really are part of the story. The mini-games are challenging and in the CE at least, you can practice them, which is fun to do. The game is complicated and straightforward at the same time, which I find very interesting. I play this game over and over, and I try to improve my skill level, which the game measures. The only con: I have to turn all the sound off in the final mini-game because I can't tolerate the voices. I usually skip through the music, too, though it was great to hear the first time through the game. November 27, 2011
Johnny Depp FlashBack I enjoyed this one very much...Creepy, challenging, great graphics and sounds. I could of played this game forever I'm guessing because I was disappointed when it was already over and of course because I was so into it, hehe. But of course when I say Johnny Depp Flashback, it's not the movie all the same, but it was fun. Thank you Big Fish, Perry:) November 14, 2011
Fun And Great Atmosphere This was an awesome game. Beautiful graphics, and creepy atmosphere. The music was beautiful. Puzzles and hidden object scenes were a lot of fun. November 18, 2011
Worth the money Not hard Enjoyable game. Lots of HO and a good flow to the game. The HO will keep you looking hard but you do have a hint button if needed. May 9, 2013
Loved this game Not a single thing about this game I didn't love, Long play time, great HO's, great visuals, great music. flowed well. Loved this game. Well, the one thing I don't love is that, as of yet, there is no sequal. December 27, 2011
Great Story, Great Game! I love the story of Sweeney Todd, and it translated into a great game. Good graphics, perfect level of challenge, intriguing story. Definitely a recommended game! November 26, 2011
I really wanted to like it At first, I thought I was in for a treat; but, then I started playing. The singing...really? I wouldn't have minded if the song had something, ANYTHING going for it. There was no rhyme or rhythm to the songs...it was just thoughts to "music". Weird, and not enjoyable. I had to skip over them, which meant I lost a lot of the storyline...and I really enjoy a good story. If you LOVE HO scenes...you will adore this game. For me, HO scenes are a means to an end. The end being....everything else. In this game...the HO scenes are the game. Almost the entire game. *yawn* I also hated the fact that you get "graded" on your performance after each chapter. I guess that wouldn't bother me if I could actually see what I was hunting for in the HO scenes, but a lot of the time, you just can't. It's dark and small and they intentionally name things oddly so you have no idea what they're asking for. It's just frustrating. So, to sum up. If you LOVE HO scenes and don't mind that being the entire game. You'll love this game. It's just not my cup of tea. March 3, 2012
Penny Dreadfuls Sweeny Todd This was a simply great game and the amosphere and music brought memories of the show and the film floading back. I wish now I had spent out on the CE. I loved the voice overs and the little comments made by the Iinspector " I just fancy some fish and chips" etc. and his comments when one tries something not logical. Well Done. graphics superb. Loved the map lay out so one could jump to and from locations and best of all a tick when there is nothing left to do. My only criticism was there were no puzzles instructions. Working out how to do the puzzles was almost more taxing than completing the puzzles. Lovely Lovely game waiting for the next game. I hope Big Fish when announcing their next game will be referring to Sweeney Todd. Then I will not miss it December 3, 2012
A close shave and a meat pie anyone? Even if you've never seen or read Sweeney Todd... from the original 1920's movie based on the original play or one of the more recent versions, you'll undoubtedly appreciate the the game play value in being in the detective role in this surprisingly good game spin-off (if you can take the gruesomeness with a grain of salt, so to speak, haha#. Anyhoo, as the story goes, the barber #Sweeney Todd# and the charming baker #some say a true tale) shared a common feature in their respective shop cellars... a passageway and a hankering for a relationship with each other. The two collaberate whereas the barber robs unsuspecting rich fellows coming in from the ships from the harbor and the baker 'disposes' of the poor deceased patrons by making meat pies for her shop. Win-win... well, more like win-win-lose taking into account the unfortunate dearly departed who get more than just a shave. So, I thought the graphics were excellent in this game... true to the time period and the SFX/music and characters, everything... all really good from beginning to end. Definite replay value as well. Cheerio! January 13, 2012
A nice surprise! I was looking for something slightly different to the usual 'mystery/creep/haunted' Hidden Object and Adventure games - and I found it in Sweeny Todd! I loved the way that you moved around the city via the map. The graphics were quite good and the scenes were interesting to look at. The graphics were dark and felt very old-time London - and the pouring rain was a nice touch! You really felt like you were a part of the scene. Some of the Hidden Object scenes were a bit difficult, which was maybe due to the scenes being not super crisp in some cases and/or the objects being quite small - not to mention the London rain pouring down! But nothing that cannot be overcome. The puzzles and tasks were definitely challenging. While the game isn't super long - due to some of the challenge, it lasted me a while. The songs weren't my favorite part, but being Sweeny Todd - they were to be expected, so I can't complain. Overall, I recommend this for a nice change to the usual 'haunted manor' games.
