Nightfall Mysteries: Curse of the Opera
Not Worth It...
Personally I thought it was bad. Not the worst game out there, surely, but it was still terrible compared to the Asylum Conspiracy game...
The original characters are cast aside way too much that you dont even feel like it's their story anymore. The artwork on them is terrible, I could barely tell they were the same characters...
This new character who we play isnt even given a name so what's the point of them being there? It would of been much better if Carolina (or Christine) stayed the main character and Vincent (or Viggo) had a bigger role...
The items were always hard to spot so that bored me rather quickly, since there are so many hidden object moments.. They just became annoying.
And finally... the ending. It was horrible. My laptop started lagging at that point but from what I could gather the asylum was completely cut out from the plot. That made me regret buying this game more than anything else. I only bought it because I wanted to see the continuation of the story... so all in all, it was a huge let down.
I'll just stick to playing Asylum Conspiracy, and to all the fans out there, I suggest you do the same.

Could not see the hidden objects in the game. Graphics not bright enough or resolution was bad.

Most Boring Game Ever
I did not like this game at all. Although I did enjoy the storyline, I lost interest in the game. All I wanted to do was get to the end to see who did it and why. There were too many puzzles and mini games within puzzles. There was also a lot of going back and forth between scenes. The HOS were either too small or too dark. For those of us with visual difficulties, these HOS were a strain on the eyes. I actually dozed off while playing this game.

Frustrating - Lets the Series Down
I enjoyed the first Nightfall Mysteries game (Asylum Conspiracy) very much but did not enjoy Curse of the Opera at all. There were far too many HOS and the objects were quite difficult to find which slowed down my progress through the game and ruined the flow of the story-line.
If this was an old-school pure HO game then the difficulty would be warranted but Adventure/Puzzle games are where our taste is evolving and we need to be able to move through the HOS, get what we need and move on.
Lists of HO are out of fashion and the casual gaming community is now showing a preference for games which involve no HOS and searching for pieces of objects, all of which are relevant to the game.
I have never left a review on a game but was quite frustrated by my experience with this one. I carefully read reviews of the third game (Black Heart) before deciding to buy it. It was a lot better than this one but I'm glad this series has now ended. If there was a fourth game I would not buy it.
If you really enjoyed the first game and would like to finish the series then I would advise waiting until you can purchase the other two on sale as they are not worth full price.

This game needs a proper burial
Based on the 1 hour demo, which I couldn't waste my time finishing, this game is ba-ad on all points.
HOS everywhere and even they were bad. objects too small and more than one object in a scene but you needed to find the one they wanted. After you finished a scene your hand was held to do something. Quite Rediculous!!!
It was hard to follow the story because the HOS were everywhere. the graphics were badly outdated.
Unless you're a hard core HOG player I definitely DON'T recommend this game!
