very varied time-management game This is a classical time-management game in which you - as the nanny - have to keep the children happy. What I really like is that there are several environments, each with 3 levels. The ups: - Each environment is unique, so you need to adjust to different "babysitting-styles" and different needs every fourth chapter - no repetitions! The characters change, too, so that is nice. - Besides the time-management of the kids, you have to search for specific elements while the clock is ticking. - When a child becomes unhappy, you need to play a mini-game with it (low level of challenge, though) The downs: - The visual side is not my cup of tea - everything is drawn in comic style in a somewhat "childish" way. - The music is repetitive and gets quickly annoying. Overall, try the demo to see if you like the style - for fans of this particular genre it is recommendable. You get pretty fast rather busy, so it seems to have a good game progress, based on the demo. I would give it a 3.5 since there was not too much of a challenge and the other drawbacks I mentioned, but I like that it offers so many different environments which spice up your tasks. Don't waste your time Okay, I'm used to time management games that keep adding on additional things that you have to accomplish but this game is lame. Forget this game and go back and play Diaper Dash. August 5, 2012
Nice Idea, Horrible Execution I didn't get past the one hour demo, but there is no way I would pay for this game. The concept is familiar to time management: you're a nanny who must care for your charges by bringing them things or taking them to different areas before their patience runs out. The theme is unique, in that you're caring for a wide variety of magical/unusual creatures as families. On your first level, you are caring for little plant children. As such, you water them, and when they're hungry, you put them in a little hole in the ground with food. Very cute concept. I also cared for a family of frogs, and a family of robots. My time ran out on the fish family. The game mechanics are what ruin it. First, the levels aren't designed so that you can easily see the entire playing field without scrolling back and forth to the edges of the screen. This is just not appropriate for a time management game, where you're expected to keep your eye out for a variety of things happening at once, and in a very quick manner. You can zoom out to see the whole playing field, but at least on my laptop, it then became so small that I couldn't see exactly what was going on in the want bubbles over the babies' heads. I found myself zooming in and out constantly, and it was an annoying extra step that did me no favors in game play. On top of that, each level is only 3 rounds long. This might not be terrible in a game where visually and conceptually, there's very little change, but each new level in this game is an entirely different family with completely different graphics, and slightly different ways to take care of the young. Just when you would start to feel comfortable with the mechanics of a given level, it is over, and you're on to brand new things. As someone who has played a LOT of time management games, I can appreciate it when game designers mix things up a bit, but this game was more frustration than anything. Time management games are about efficiency, and this game tries to thwart your efficiency at every turn. September 25, 2014
