Far too many hidden object scenes If you love your HOPA/iHOGS full to the brim with hidden object scenes, then this is your game. However, there is one in every scene, sometimes more than once. I expected more adventure and puzzle solving rather than endless junkpiles. The objects were very small in some scenes and barely visible (e.g. a pawprint that was so well blended into the stonework that I couldn't believe the Hint button even found it!). Items were also not named correctly. What I have come to recognise as a mallet from every other game of this type turned out to be a hammer in this one; among other mis-labeled objects. I bought this in a sale as a BOGO so I don't feel too bad, but if I'd demo'd it first I would not have bought it. April 25, 2012
Bad game This game looks promising, but it does not deliver. The artwork is OK but not the best. The VO consists of pictures of characters with their mouths flapping and written text. The HOS are bad with hard to find objects - red pepper on a red background, etc. The hint system only works during HOS. There is a magnifying glass that is supposed to show action items, but it isn't 100% accurate. The story is lame at best. I could hardly wait to finish the game. May 21, 2012
Interesting and long game! The storyline is really interesting. I played in advanced mode. - The graphics are clear but not in the HOS; these are dark and some objects are really hard to find. This is the reason why I won't give 5 stars. - The puzzles are good, quite easy. - There is a task list, which is really helpful. - There is no map, but there are not that many locations, that you would miss it. Nevertheless, there is a lot of going back and forth. It took me nearly 6 hours to finish. Really good game! July 5, 2012
Long but not forgotten!! I took quite some time with this game. I never rush through them in order to get to the end. I enjoy playing but also using the walkthroughs otherwise I would get lost and confused. lol The walkthroughs for these games that go back and forth and back again I think are necessary. After all this is a game and to have to 'think' too much would put a damper on it for me anyways. I really enjoyed the characters and the storyline.. Good enjoyable and entertaining game The Elixir of Immortality is exactly what you are trying to find whilst trying to catch a murderer and endeavouring to prevent him striking again and finally escape this treacherous and mysterious island. The music is pleasing and easy to listen to, there are no voice overs and you don't get bogged down in excessive dialogue. The graphics are bright and colourful and detailed, in some places just a tad dark. There is quite a bit of moving around and backtracking but I think this added to the mystery and excitement of the game - not expecting what is about to happen next. The diary indicated the tasks at hand and sometimes where to go. The puzzles and minigames were very reasonable and not too troublesome but some did require a bit of extra thought. The hidden objects were colourful and ranged from quite simple to find through to some being tricky and requiring a hint or two. There were a couple of places where the walk through blog was needed but when it was consulted it was only then I realised how elementary it was after all. A very good game, I enjoyed it. WHAT A GREAT GAME! This game starts off great and doesn't let the 'player' down. A really good mix of HO scenes and puzzles - that are not too hard. The graphics are fantastic - when you think about what goes into putting one of these games together - WOW! The storyline is easy to follow - and your 'hint' button will help you out by highlighting active zones. What more could you ask for? I liked the music - it was appropriate for the story - and what a story - liked the 'twists'. You have a 'Task Journal' that tells you what you need to do - so basically this game is fun not mind boggling. I really enjoyed playing it and was sorry when it ended. November 8, 2012
Fun fun fun I really enjoyed playing this game. Good storyline. Hint button works will if needed. Some moving around to find clues but not that bad. A must play. August 8, 2012
Entertaining game I enjoyed playing this game after the free trial so had to buy it to finish it. It was mostly easy. I found most objects on my own and solved most puzzles by myself. Storyline was good but game could have been improved visually and with the way the storyline actually appeared on screen. I definitely recommend this game though as I don't like the way most other HOG games look. This one took me about 7 leisurely hours to finish. April 24, 2012
Poor quality I really enjoy the plot, voice "mumbles and grunts" and music but most of the time, the sound on the game doesn't work! And it's not only my laptop; I've downloaded it on another too. The game is advertised as Adventure but I feel that most of the time I do hidden object puzzles and the resolution isn't great plus the click meter is "fussy"; I can't click absent minded-ly like I usually do because it freezes me for a few seconds ever few seconds. Decent puzzles and challenges. I don't necessarily recommend this game though. December 10, 2011
Elixir of Immortality It's the first time I give a review, but I need to do it. This game was VERY boring, I tried to continued playing but couldn't. I like HO, but with stories and that the HO'S are used for something not to look for the SAME ones and nothing. July 17, 2012
