Beautiful but very frustrating
I am apparently one of the few people who didn't like this game. I found the puzzles to be very frustrating in that they did not seem logical and I had to check a walkthrough to continue to play. The game is beautiful, but the puzzles annoyed me very early. It is the only PC game I did not finish.

Better Than Drawn: The Painted Tower
I'll try to keep this brief. I DID NOT like the first Drawn game. This one, I wasn't too crazy about. But to me, it was better than the first one. There was little to no guidance on the first one. This one was different because you were given advice instead of hints, which was a bit more helpful. I could tell that there was improvement on the second installment, which I appreciated. However, I still do not plan to buy this game - even for the current special of $1.99. My best advice is for you to DEFINITELY play this game prior to buying it. Use your game credit or game code for free if you are that daring. But I would still feel like it would be a waste.

Fun game!
This game was really creative and I liked the storybook way of playing. It was moderate difficulty for me. Lots of fun!

Disappointed
Compared to the first one this was not what I thought it was going to be. It was the shortest game I've ever played. The mini games where way to hard and frustrating. The graphics were of course amazing. At the end I was just kept think is that it? So a yes and a no for this game.

can't get away from the dreaded *sparkles*!
incredible! i remember thinking that i needed to try the drawn games and with the BFG sale on their own studio games this weekend, i decided to try one of the games in this series.
i was offered two modes of play: with tutorial or without. so, being as i love a good challenge, i chose without.
i have played MANY games over several years and i am to the point where i *hate* being led around by the hand. so, when i was in the very first scene, there were two sets of *sparkles* and i thought "TWO HOSs in the very first place i go in the game?" only to realize that they were NOT marking HOSs, they were the dreaded *sparkles*! not just a glint or a glimmer... BIG *sparkles*!
why can we not get a mode without *sparkles*??
so, this whole series is a no-buy for me. i will not purchase a game where i have sparkles in every scene. i don't care how good the story, graphics, VOs, music, ambiance, etc.
*sparkles* = immediate no-buy.
which makes me sad because most everyone seems to love this game!
{sigh}

Very Good Game!!!
This game is really unique, at first I found it to be odd, with the Grade school pictures ect..But good Graphics, VERY challenging, and sometimes Frusterating!! Really get into game, and it is not like the typical HOS games (which always have the same storyline!) Great going Big Fish! Impressive! :)

AMAZING sequel!
Most sequels don't compare to the first story, this is one of those wonderful rare exceptions! It picks up right were the first left off and the storyline is just as captivating. The graphics are even better and the music is appropriate to each scene. THe cut scenes are beyond amazing! There isn't a "hint" button in the traditional sense, it's got something better: Franklin, you can ask him for advice(hints) as often as you like with no penalty or recharge time. There are 2 levels of play to choose from which is nice. I am heading to the third game in the series with high hopes, I'm sure I won't be disappointed!

Too abstract for me
I really enjoyed the interface, plot and illustrations; very unique and dreamlike with a side of creepy.
The music was also very atmospheric and well done.
What I did not enjoy was the main part of the game: the puzzles.
I would describe them as very abstract and not very intrinsic or logical. I wish I had an abstract way of figuring out puzzles but some of them didn't make a lot of sense for me, such as: using a net to catch flying red books in a library which didn't seem to be to be an obvious action, versus other games where you are given a hammer and realize you have to nail boards in or smash a vase; ie, the thinking is abstract and creative not necessarily logical or reasonable, so that is why I didn't find this game relaxing. But there are infinite clues given. I also appreciate the lack of hidden items which are boring in most other games.

A Refreshing Change
Loved it! The story line carries throught the game. Some of the graphics may appear to be elementry, but that is deceiving. The puzzles are challenging, even for the experienced. The background music isn't earth shattering.
Throw caustion to the wind; this is only one of a few games that I would pay to play again and again. I would highly recommend this game for all levels. The hint process is helpful for the novice and you don't have to use it.
I bought the latest game in the series knowing that the last (or first) installment was deamed by some to be too short. I don't care; it is that good of a story.
