Good game, weak story.. Finished the game in a little over 3.5 hours. Can't say it was a bad game. I just can't put my finger on it but just never really held me. Loaded in fine. The graphics were nice and crisp. Some of the scenes were quite imaginative. The soundtrack was there but not annoying. The items were obvious and yet still hidden. I managed to get through with no hints but was still challenged. The cut scenes were not long. I did enjoy the mini games quite a lot. They were a nice mix. Though an IHOG the interaction was quick and direct. I guess I prefer a little more guess work. I think what turned me off in the long run was the weak story line. It just seemed slightly disjointed. After the second hour it almost felt like I just needed to finish. I'm sure this all just a matter of taste and, as such, it will be well liked by others. I've played a run of really good games lately that could be coloring my opinion. Not a bad game just not a great one for me. (original review Aug 28,10) November 26, 2011
Probably more fun if you played the preceeding games I feel that this game's story relies too heavily on your knowledge of the events of previous games. Doesn't stand alone well here at all. Really makes you feel like you're missing something. Plus the title is misleading as the hotel isn't haunted (apparently a fact discovered in previous games and reiterated at the beginning of this game)... which to me is disappointing because I like tales of the supernatural. Seemed pretty short to me as well. Not one of the shortest, but too short to be satisfying, particularly given the lack of standalone storyline. November 25, 2011
Silly plot but enjoyable game. OK. So the plot is weak, silly, and juvenile. Other than an excuse to design the game with ?rooms? to visit, the plot does not get in the way of an excellent hidden object game. I enjoyed the game. I think that most people playing for fun would. I had only one real quibble with the hidden objects; the ?ruler? was actually a slide rule. Perhaps the graphical artist was too young to know the difference? Most of the puzzles were worth playing; something I don?t find often. I recommend the game. December 26, 2011
Much better than Haunted Hotel 1& 2 I skip Haunted Hotel 1& 2, and I still can understand it. I like hint feature allow me to choose which subject will be found , it make me feel like I can interact with a partner nearby. Language is fine, I'm really feel like a agent . About the ending, I''m little bit worry about what gonna happen with Detective Jack Saver. I got curious and play it prequel, and I must say this is a big improvement. April 21, 2012
Wonderful graphics I am really liking this game and learning how to do more than just find hidden objects. Nice story line! A game well worth the $$$$ December 20, 2011
Checking Out of the Lonely Dream Hotel and Hurry! Specialbit really has a handle on this 3rd in their Haunted Hotel series. More an adventure genre and ultra creative in putting together all those items picked up by you the FBI Agent, to get the job done. Bravo on the extra large hidden object scenes woven into play--clear and crisp. Thank you! Very good game length. Mini-games with some math--not my favorite subject but got through it. Lots of rooms to explore and I always like when there's more than one character within the game. A good hidden object adventure game is one that can actually be played and enjoyed without having to consult a Walkthrough every step and Haunted Hotel: Lonely Dream is exactly that type of game. Memories of my first Computer Programming classes where we actually wired our boards and ran punched cards still reminds me that I am not a computer wizard--although I should be by now. It's a good feeling of accomplishment to complete a game that other obvious computer geniuses developed--although I'm sure they held back and could have easily made this game much more complicated than fun to play. As it is, it's fun and I enjoyed my stay at the Lonely Dream Hotel. Thank you Specialbit Developers and BFG!! Onward to Haunted Hotel: Charles Dexter Ward CE!! Enjoy! -Mama Mia- August 28, 2012
Game with some logic in puzzles Played it right after Haunted Hotel Charles Dexter Ward. The games aren't connected, and the are totally different in fact. I loved the graphics and the logic of the puzzles. They are quite different from what we used to see in other games, so it was like a breath of fresh air. Try it for yourself. Great adventure game. Haunted Hotel: Lonely Dream So what is this hotel has to do with time machine? I didn't play the previous games on this series so I have no idea. The ending is probably supposed to be scary? unexpected? but I found it weird and makes no sense. The music of this game is creepy, and they're quite a lot of hotel parts and rooms to explore, too bad the ending of the game and the topic turn me off. I don't understand why this game is called 'haunted', as I find nothing haunting at all. June 9, 2012

Mostly good but story line a bit confusing The game was fun to play with enough challenge in the puzzles and HOG aspects to keep me happy. My only gripe is that the story line leads you to believe that there is some sort of predecessor game, but I can't find it. December 14, 2011
