The Best!!! I found this game to be one of the best games ever! However I was tying to get through it without the help of the walkthrough.......no way!! Expect the unexpected! December 6, 2011
Dark Tales: EAP's Black Cat One of my favorite games from ERS games. It is creepy, dark and has a good storyline. The ending really creeps me out, and there are so many things to see and explore in this game, good game length and good amount of puzzles and mini games. Recommended this to buy :) June 9, 2012
Another Home Run ! Loved this HOG!! I really enjoy this series , long in length, interesting enough to hold my interest. Love the graphics! Highly recommend, very much worth the money. February 26, 2012
Good game, but not the best Overall, an enjoyable game. If you like Adventure/Hidden Object games, you should enjoy this one. Good story (find missing woman) and good graphics (cartoon-like but mostly well done.) Long in length. Lots of places to explore! You have a tophat-wearing assistant (?) who periodically explains things to you, although, not too much. The mini-games were ok. The challenges are not particullary inspired (about seven steps to wash clothes), but it did hold my attention. Kind of heavy on the Hidden Object scenes for me and they required a very minor amount of interaction (open a box, move a curtain). I did use a few hints, but most of the objects were findable. Some HOS were on the darker side. I played in advanced mode (longer hint recharge) and wished I had chosen the easier one. Had to use the walkthrough four or five times and that is too much for me. I failed to find a few critical items and not all solutions are obvious or intuitive. Note that flat work surfaces are there so you can perform some sort of work on them, like putting together items (or taking them apart). Some of these work areas are used more than once. While I do recommend this game, I am glad I didn't pay full price. January 8, 2012
Repetitive Scenes! This was another HOG that I purchased as a dual pack by BFG and glad that it came this way instead of regular price. The visual is really nice quality, however, some of the HOG was difficult to see. The audio was annoying, so I muted it. You have to read the entire storyline, so I skipped them. I'd rather the characters speak to me instead. They keep you going back and forth in this one, way too much to be enjoyable and it seemed rather aggravating to me in many of the scenes. Like others stated, you have to sometimes create something or perform actions that didn't make a great deal of sense to do in the first place. This has a nice relaxing mode and has different challenge levels. It's an okay game, but I've played better. December 27, 2011
Good game In my opinion, this is the second best game in the series. I prefer Premature burial to this and Rue Morgue. Still, it's a good game and worth the purchase. Hidden Object lovers will appreciate it. April 1, 2012
Great balance I've tired of straight hidden object games, but this game has plenty of puzzles and a good story to balance out the hidden object scenes. Just challenging enough without being too hard. Easy to see screens, not to dark or cluttered. One of my favorite games! November 16, 2011
Good length and storyline I thought this game was entertaining and had a good storyline. The length of the games was REALLY good with a couple twists and turns where another game might have taken the easy way out and ended it. Instead it kept going and introduced new locations that I didn't expect, which pleasantly surprised me and made for a really enjoyable game. A few times I got lost and had to resort to the walk-through, but I also have less patience than others do. Overall, I thought this was well worth the money and would recommend it to others! Edgar Allen Poe /black cat Worst game I ever played---waste of money---hated it Like a challenge but this one never made sense July 26, 2012
Good Game....No Ending. The Black Cat delivered on the gameplay. The HO screens were not as challenging as desired but the gameplay was well thought out and engaging. Length of game was good and the story intriguing. The only place where ERS continues to fail is at the ending where it abruptly cuts off and leaves the player with more questions than answers. Why did the villain do what he did? how? etc...It is really frustrating to spend time playing and getting to know the characters and back story then be let down with no ending at all. We will be on the lookout for ERS games and avoiding them in the future. December 4, 2011
