Drop Hunt 3.7 5 10 10
Simple But Frustrating I love games that make me think about my every move strategically. This is a very simple game, but not an easy game, requiring you to place the "drops" into the same colored jar. When you move one drop, all other drops move in the same direction, therefore, you have to take advantage of blocked cells or cells that are crossed off, when moving the drops. There are cells that have "blobs" that will eat the drops, if a blob lands on a cell that contains a blob, you will lose automatically and have to start over. You must get the drops to the correct jars in the fewest moves possible to earn three stars, and you can replay the level as often as you want to try for a better score. Drop Hunt is definitely a brain teaser, enjoy! June 1, 2015
This game is brutal...not for the faint of mind HOPA's are my absolute game of choice, yet every once in a while I need or want a change of pace to relieve or avoid boredom setting in. This is where offerings such as Banana Bugs ( in my top 10 all time ), Fantasy Mosaics, Bomb the Monsters etc. offer a niche. Drop Hunt is one of those alternatives but fair warning: this game is at the same time cute, engaging, and very hard. A scientist Dr. Dunno is attempting to formulate an elixir to cure his sick daughter. A lab experiment gone wrong results in drops of medicine being plastered all over the lab. Our job is to clean everything up and return colored drops to the similarly colored jars. Looks easy but NOT!! The drops can move N, S, E or W. The challenge is different color drops all move in the same direction simultaneously unless blocked from doing so. There are Glops which eat the drops if a wrong move is made and each segment of the game has a maximum number of moves allowed to get drops in correct jars. Each segment awards up to 3 stars and there are 20 levels in each set of puzzles. The one glaring downside to the game is each segment must attain 3 stars before being able to progress to the next group of puzzles. Given the move limitations, the obstacles imposed, and the game difficulty I should be panning Drop Hunt as an exercise in futility. There is something strangely addicting to the game so the masochist in me loves it. It's a game I figure can be enjoyed in rather small doses otherwise there could be much cursing and hair pulling in the offing. It looks and sounds like a kid game. Beware. Drop Hunt does not require Mensa membership to achieve success but it comes close. Were it not for the superb hint available in each section, I wouldn't come near the game with a 20 foot pole. The hint system saves it and I consider it a must have game. BFG lists brain teaser as one of its genres. This game is more of a brain buster!! June 1, 2015
It is all in the moves In Real Estate it is location....in this game it is strategy, logic, thinking moves ahead and planning. If you like to figure things out, you will like this game. It is visually clear and the fact that the blobs get bored when you are thinking what to do...well you can be amused or irritated, but that is not the point. What do you do next to achieve the goal? That is the point. There is a story...spilled liquid to be retrieved...totally insignificant. There are moves to be made and the wrong ones make you fail and the right ones get you through. One reviewer let us know that one can not progress unless all the puzzles are solved perfectly...that burns me...but the same reviewer says there are hints to help...a salve on that burn. I know myself though, I would not want to use the hint. I probably will buy the game and hate myself for it when I get stuck. O well. June 2, 2015
How cute are these? This is a really short review because others have done an outstanding job of explaining the games itself. But I am having a GREAT time with this one. The animations are cute and the puzzles get harder and harder as you go, but they are mostly just logic and the ability to think several turns ahead. If you want something that is not timed, had no HO or scary scenes, and is just fun to logic through, I encourage you to give the demo a try. June 3, 2015
Drop Hunt, an entertaining puzzle game for PC I found that can play with arrow on keyboard by moving dots and it works great for me I'd like to share levels that i passed with hint ) 1-17 2-3 2-9 3-4 3-15 4-5 4-8 4-13 4-19 Amazing Game! Good job! June 6, 2015
Catchy and old school This is my new time killer. This can also be your time killer.. or your kid's time killer. One way or another You will not see time go by as you play Drop Hunt. I like it. Good graphics, pleasant sound, lots of levels to cover (hope it will be upgraded with new levels). June 4, 2015
Cute brain teaser A nice little game. The puzzles are very well designed, not too easy and not too hard. Graphics are cute, but they could be animated a bit more. A good brain challenge for a little break. June 13, 2015
It just doesn't grab me I downloaded this game because it sounded like a challenge hidden behind a wall of cuteness. The graphics are kind of cute, but way to childish, and this game is too difficult for the kids around the age that would love these graphics. As for some of the harder levels, it's nice to be able to use a hint, but there is no hint option other then one that chews up the whole level for you. Well, then you might as well call it a skip option and give us the 3 stars for free. Sometimes all you need is a push (or in this case drag) in the right direction and then you can pick it back up. The storyline is pretty much a cartoon of a dad with a daughter sick in her bad and thats it. Then the game starts, and it turns in to a puzzle game that someone could whip up in flash in a browser and upload on their amateur site for free. Packed with a whole bunch of overdone graphics, which arent worth the bucks in my humble opinion. Last thing I would have rather seen different is the menu. While it isn't too hard to figure out what the symbols mean, I rather also have a word or some text coming with it. It doesn't have to be static, if you get to see it when you are hovering over it that would be fine too. I am seeing a tendency in Big Fish Games to have games that are either over the top in details (like the 1000 doors games) or way too childish like this one. There used to be an in between, but sadly that seems to be gone. All in all this game just doesn't grab me, and I am going to uninstall it. June 2, 2015
Not a PC game This game was not made for PC's. It was intended to be used on tablets. It's a silly tablet game that looks like it might keep you occupied while you were waiting for something. Games for tablets and phones don't belong in the PC category. I wouldn't even play it on my tablet. June 5, 2015
Maybe good for five year olds Childish graphics. The game involved trying to drag little characters from one square to the next, avoiding obstacles and such. On about level three no matter which way I tried to drag the drops they wouldn't move. At this stage it took me about five moves to exit the game which I immediately deleted. Having said that, maybe younger minds will enjoy it. June 1, 2015
