Nancy Drew: The Shattered Medallion is rated 3.2 out of 5 by 33.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a Fun Time in NZ! After having played several ND's, I found this format to be a bit different. Kind of a spin on Survivor and Amazing Race. But it was very enjoyable. Lots of contests, puzzles and two enjoyable games (in the gaming palace) from one of the other ND games that you can play to your heart's content. As always, there's something strange going on that needs to be discovered. And there's interesting and educational information that gets thrown in to the game as well. I enjoyed it so much, I played it again right away! I hope more ND's are made for Mac's.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A roaring good time! While the TV reality show premise was a bit corny and improbable, I have to say it was a lot of fun! There was so much to do--shearing sheep, panning for gold, racing a kayak, and captaining a submarine, to name just a few. Also brought back one of my favorite Nancy Drew side games, Raid. And playing to win ups your score in the TV competition! There are a couple of drawbacks to the game, in my opinion. The main story line was a bit...awkward. Still not sure what it was all about and--worse--it blew the whole Sonny Joon mystique! Also, the final challenge was pretty darn challenging--it took about every ounce of wit and courage I could muster to get through it. Still and all, a very good game!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Best One Yet! I've played every Nancy Drew game but one and this was the best yet. I mainly play games for the puzzles and this one does not disappoint. In fact, I almost got hopelessly stuck on the final one but managed to figure it out...without spoiling anything, I'll just say you have to look closely. It was so nice to hear Lani Minella's familiar voice playing Nancy once again; rumor has it that No. 32 is going to be her last so if you're fans, please go on Twitter and put in a request for her to not abandon us. All the voice-overs were excellent as always, and music, scenery and storyline were tops as well. Kudos to the developers for continuing to keep up their high standards and many thanks to BigFish for continuing to offer us these great games!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth it! It is not exactly like the Survivors tv show, but sure is in the same vein. You play in New Zealand, in a team with your friends, as Nancy Drew. You'll have to pass levels and win pieces of medallion. But nothing is that simple and events occure that make you think that something wrong is going on. So, as always, you investigate. Most of the game is easy and you have hints to help you out. The end needs more of your brain. Good luck!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another Great ND Game So, I couldn't wait for BF to get this game, so unfortunately, I paid full price but it was worth it. The game brings to life Sonny Joon, and he truly lives up to the hints we received about him in previous games. Gotta love his hair, :-) The game will remind you of Survivor but it has some interesting twists. It also brings back some of the board games from previous games. If you enjoy ND games you will surely like this one! Enjoy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nancy Drew Fans Unite! I understand the disappointment many Hidden Object fans get when a new Nancy Drew episode is released with no demo available. These games have nothing to do with Hidden Object Puzzles, and probably won't be a good match for those hardcore fans. If you have an open mind however, and are looking for an adventure game that doesn't hold your hand throughout the game, makes you think about your every move, and challenges you to think outside the box, THIS GAME IS FOR YOU! I'll go one step further, ANY Nancy Drew game is fantastic, so try this one or any of the other Nancy games because they are all exceptional games. They are not impossible games to figure out but they are different than a HO game, some will dig it, some will not. All Nancy Drew fans are hooked however, and we purchase them sight unseen, no trial necessary, and we look forward to the next one with great anticipation! This Nancy Drew adventure takes us to New Zealand as a contestant on Pacific Run, an adventure reality show where groups of two contestants compete to gain 5 Medallions and more points than the other contestants to win the game. There are two modes of difficulty, Amateur Sleuth which has regular puzzles, hints available and a detailed task list, and Master Sleuth which has more difficult puzzles, no hints available and a very basic tasklist. The biggest difference between the two modes are with the task list, there are several tasks to complete, more are added as you progress, and you are able to check the tasks off one by one when complete, and in Amateur mode you can click on most of the tasks to get a more in depth nudge in the right direction. Your phone is used to make calls, as well as take pictures of clues, you will need to read directions, talk to other contestants (several predetermined questions are available) and listen carefully. Everything means something so you will need to pay attention to the people you talk to and use your notes and task lists to guide you throughout the adventure. Because this is a reality game show, there are a lot of mini games, unusual mini games. I found myself playing the cow game over and over, a game much like minesweeper. I know it's hard to buy a game you may not like, if you can use a credit. This isn't going to knock off everybody's socks, but if you have to dip your toes in the water this is a fantastic series to get you used to large file games, enjoy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from NANCY DREW TRIES TO "METTLE" IN A CRIME SCENE IN THIS "CAMPY" GAME BASED ON COMPLETING THE ENTIRE GAME It's up to you and Nancy Drew to solve a murder mystery concerning a "reality" type game show set in New Zealand. I played this game a year ago when it was first released. As a member of the Nancy Drew fan club, I found it to be an "okay" adventure game but not one of their best. There are no HOP scenes - this is a game full of nerve racking puzzles - some of which are timed as well. I found this game trifle tedious. I didn't care the storyline in this puzzle. I also got tired of venturing from camp site to camp site in this game. THERE IS NO TRANSPORTIVE MAP IN THESE GAMES! But generally, this is a great game for "tweenies" to get their feet wet into the world of gaming plus may foster an interest in reading as well. Nancy Drew books still make great reading even if they are slightly dated. You have the choice between Junior and Senior detective levels. The Junior level provides a list of tasks to perform. There are some "classic" puzzles which show up in almost every Nancy Drew game and there are some of those as well. Of course, one of Nancy's friends is always around to give you a hint or two. I was slightly annoyed and rather surprised by the stereotypical portrayal of one of the characters in this game whose portrayal as "ditzy and clueless" degrading to some women. I contacted them concerning this and hopefully in the future they will provide gaming with ALL characters as "intelligent and successful" women. In turn, they provide good role models for impressionable young women. But other than that - it is pretty much a standard run-of-the-mill Nancy Drew game.
