Haunted Train: Frozen in Time Collector's Edition 3.7 5 38 38
When Time Stands Still Daniel was so grateful to Charon for giving Olivia back her life, that he has continued helping Charon fight the evil souls who threaten this world! When Daniel doesn't return for three days however, Olivia knows she must search for him. Daniel was searching for the thief who stole one of Charon's most valuable artifacts, the Chronometer, a watch that can freeze time itself! Charon agrees to help as much as he can and gives Olivia the one and only Chronometer he has left......and the adventure begins! The Chronometer is used to release Time Stop Bubbles which are created when time has been frozen, and I loved this feature because of the Mini Games that make you "think". You must find 4 items that are frozen in time, be that a clock, a bird, or mother nature herself, some items are obvious, some are not. There are 17 Morphing Items to find, which is my all time favorite feature, and there are 47 Collectible Butterflies to net. I'm not sure why, but I also loved the way the Achievements are presented, they pop out with some really epic music like you just won the pulitzer prize! Some inventory items are Complex Items, meaning some type of interaction is required before you can use that item such as combining that item with another inventory item. The only feature I was disappointed in was the Hidden Object Scenes, because the same scene is repeated which is so boring in my opinion. Most of the scenes are interactive list finds, but there are also Silhouetted Shapes to find and let's not forget that the Chronometer game is actually a HOP too. The Mini Games are good, but I found them to be easy, first try puzzles, which is okay, and beats the alternative any day of the week. An example of a typical puzzle requires you to move tokens around several slots using directional arrows until each token was nestled into it's matching colored slot. This Collector's Edition has 47 Collectible Butterflies, 17 Morphing Objects, 20 Hidden Object Scenes, 21 Mini Games, Achievements, Music, Wallpaper, a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Chapter, enjoy! If I could turn back time... Yep yep, reminded me of that Cher song. I am truly enjoying this game. The VO's are are great and fit the characters just right. There is 48 butterflies to be found. One in each scene and 16 morphs. Note on the morphs. They are in H0GS only, but sometimes the morphs aren't in the H0G the first time you visit it, you have to revisit it to collect it. The strat guide shows all of them. To me I thought the opening cutscene was awesome with that train. Also with the chronometer. When you see it shake in your inventory bar, pick it up and click on the scene. Then click on the frozen objects that are suppose to be moving. That will fill up your chronometer and back to the game. Story: The start of the story you open with Charon and Olivia and Olivia is talking to Charon and wondering where her husband Daniel is and she is very worried. Charon confesses to her that he sent Daniel on serious mission to stop the two villains Katherine and Slyboots. She tells Charon that she wants to go find her husband and bring him back. Before Olivia sets out, Charon gives her a chronometer which has the ability to freeze time and set things straight before any catastrophes happen. Then she unfreezes time and let things go as normal. She teams up with hubby and they now they are both on the trail to stop the duo, so they thought... Graphics: Beautifully done. I stopped my game just to look. Music: Fits right with the game. Adds to the ambiance of it. Mini Games: I haven't had trouble so far. They are nice mini games and fun to play. Nothing taxing so far. H0GS: Find the list with extra step objects to find then the pieces they were hiding make up the main object. Combine two objects to get the item on the list. Just a nice variety. Map: Exclamation point for a task to and the little green person is where you are at. Jump map. Kudos to the team for a job well done. I highly recommend this game. May 9, 2015
10 stars worth!!! My dear beloved developers. THANK YOU SO MUCH that you gave me so much joy by constructing this game. It is so loveable done that my heart really bows to you!!! Even the small hint-texts are not stupid like "i should think" but are thoughtfully done. The graphics are gorgeous, the vividness of the scenery is impressing. The story is never ever boring, which is a miracle to get done, the gameplay is smooth, the minigames are nice, i have nothing, nothing nothing at all to complain. I wished all the games would be like this. People, go buy this one, you get something which has really been developed with heart and soul!!! May 12, 2015
Great Adventure I just loved the game!! I liked that there was extra items to find in the hidden object games and finding the special hidden items throughout the games as well. May 11, 2015
Frozen Time Bubbles This is every bit as good as the first Haunted Train. I only played ten minutes of the demo and bought it. I love games where you have to use an amulet to dispel magic forces. Looking for morphing objects is fun as is collecting butterflies. Using the chronometer to break time bubbles by finding objects that should be moving is a brilliant new idea by the devs. This really is a fun game. May 9, 2015
As close to perfect as I've seen Excellent story, fun and challenging game play, good voice acting and much more make for a very entertaining way to pass a rainy Saturday. I played the entire game plus extra and wasn't bored or frustrated for a second. I highly recommend this one. May 9, 2015
Time waits for no one -- unless you have a chronometer! Charon is back again with his "soul train" and Daniel and Olivia are now married and helping Charon. This time you are Olivia, who needs to find Daniel in Farrington town, where he is chasing a thief who stole Charon's chronometer. You have your own chronometer, of course, and can use it to undo the "time stop bubbles" Katherine - the thief - has been leaving around town as she fights to take over ownership of the town. Don't know why she wants it, but there is a cute mini-game with all the town buildings that you have to match up with misplaced items. When you find Daniel, his chronometer is malfunctioning, which saves his life when you release his time stop bubble, because a barrel expoldes. So you have to save the watchmaker - also in a time stop bubble - so he can upgrade your chrono to reverse time, as well as stop it, so you can save Daniel from the exploding barrel. Did you follow all that? While the story is complicated, the game play is straightforward. The HOS in the demo are standard lists. The mini-games are quite simple as well. But it is fun to unstop time, and the story is clever. The map teleports, but doesn't show activities. The hint button will also teleport if you want to get somewhere quickly. There are 47 butterflies to collect, with an on screen icon to remind you to look. The butterflies fill in a stained glass window puzzle - a nice touch. They start out fairly easy to find, but I missed several as the demo progressed. There are 15 achievements that are all time/skip/hint related, plus 10 animal achievements that are game activity related. The 17 morphing items seem to appear in HOS -- a little heart drops down on the screen that lets you know when to look. This is a pretty good game and a sequel, but you don't have to have played the original - which was also a good game. I am off to buy! May 9, 2015
TIME JUST SEEMS TO STAND STILL WHILE PLAYNG THIS GAME All aboard! Hurry! - check your "pocket watch" so you don't miss the Haunted Express where you interact and "watch pockets" of time stand still. There are the usual 4 levels of play; an inventory which is puzzle-like; graphics which are somewhat cartoonish and colorful with one-dimensional characters; HOP scenes which are somewhat varied in theme but not puzzle-like - two in the demo are junk piles; puzzles which range from easy to average difficulty ; and a storyline which I feel is intriguing and unique. You collect butterflies and there are morphing objects. The game is easy to maneuver. The demo is very short; you finish the demo with 20% of the game completed. From what I have played so far, this seems to be a nice-and-easy 5 star game on the lower end of 5 stars. It is a "fun" but not stellar game to while away the hours. EXTRAS: Map - Map is provided as you begin the game Collect 47 butterflies - how awesome - which act as pieces for a jigsaw puzzle into a stain glass window Chronometer which stops time 26 Achievements which include 21 mini games and 20 HOP scenes 17 Morphing objects which are secret jewels for a heart pendant Strategy guide Music and Wallpapers Provides a the percentage of the game you have completed With an excellent sale this weekend, I will purchase this game. HERE ARE MORE DETAILS (SPOILERS) FROM THE VERY SHORT DEMO You play Olivia whose husband Daniel is working for Charon, Lord of the Underworld., Not being able to leave his ethereal train to enter the mortal world, he has your husband seek out and capture criminals who are searching for objects which alter reality. In the latest case, an evil woman, Katherine, with the help of her accomplice, Slyboots, has stolen chronometers - watches which stop time. She has kidnapped your husband to prevent him from stopping her dastardly plan to use the watches to rule the world. You and your husband must work together to stop this duo from their evil plan. Along the way you will uncover "time bubbles," which are remnants of the use of the chronometers to stop time. You need to clear the world of these bubbles and hopefully with the help of a little watchmaker, Adam, you will return the world to it normal existence and continue with a smooth train ride. LEVELS: 4 - Casual, Advanced, Expert and Custom - Rapid Selection penalty - Hints range from 0 to 99 seconds and skips from 0 to 199 seconds with the ability to turn them off as well INVENTORY: Puzzle-like and interactive and to me, the best part of the game. GRAPHICS : Cartoonish and one dimensional. The movements by the characters seemed jerky to me. HOP SCENES: Somewhat varied but most are junk piles with no puzzle-like activity. The same location was used twice in the demo with a list of items to locate. Items very to locate BEST HOP SCENE TO ME: A chronometer which stops time and allows you play HOP scenes to find items which have been frozen in motion. To me, rather awesome! The others consist of finding items from a list uncovering jigsaw pieces, Silhouette, Mini HOP scenes replacing items to correct locations PUZZLES: These vary from very easy to somewhat average in difficulty. I found none terribly difficult A. Variation of a tile puzzle moving objects to proper locations B. Balancing weights on a scale C. Easy variations of sequence puzzles with illustrated directions - two in the demo D. A variation of moving dials to they match up - this time clock hands. E. Matching. Opening up clocks to match up crystals May 9, 2015
Great story and game I loved every second of it, some stages were easier than others, but that made the game even better. Being able to in affect change what happened was really good, Having an interactive map, made it easier getting around. I hope there is another game in the making I apologize for the review, but I'm having a bad day! May 16, 2015
